Acting Defense Secretary Chris Miller ordered a Pentagon-wide halt to cooperation with the transition of President-elect Biden, shocking officials across the Defense Department, senior administration officials tell Axios.
A top Biden official was unaware of the directive. Administration officials left open the possibility cooperation would resume after a holiday pause. The officials were unsure what prompted Miller’s action, or whether President Trump approved.
Miller’s move, which stunned officials throughout the Pentagon, was the biggest eruption yet of animus and mistrust toward the Biden team from the top level of the Trump administration.
A Pentagon official said that the reason was that the staff involved in the transition is “overwhelmed.”

Money won’t do him any good without immunity, and he’s getting the money from fundraising for the senate run-off and keeping most of it for himself. As for immuniy – he’s not exactly making a strong case for it, even from the likes of Biden wh might be inclined to emulate Obama in letting the previous administration off the hook.

So there’s been a massive Russian hack into US security systems, daily covid death tolls heading towards 4,000, an unseemly rush to execute prisoners on death row, selling off wildlife refuges and reservation lands in fire sales, blasting through wilderness for a wall that wont be built, stripping of more regulations and protections, Michale Flynn above calling for martial law, and Trump himself hiding away in his man-cave while aides and appointees sow more chaos. Doesn’t sound like he’s getting ready to pull the greatest story of our time out of his hat to me.
Oh, and our resident Casacovas will be vindicated to hear that Fox News has gone full anti-vaxx, though the network owner, one Rupert Murdoch, just got a dose of the vaccine in the UK.
