Once again The Star asking the questions other are just too afraid to ask

Can’t wait for the “Psycho Gull Aggression Traced Back to Lettuce Overdosing” headline sometime in January

    1. Joe

Stockpiling lettuce? Eamon Ryan and GP obviously. They have to get their priorities right during the pandemic!

  2. The vice of raisins

I didn’t expect it to end like this but the next 2 weeks will open a lot of blinkered eyes over there in good ol’ Blighty.
If it wasn’t so serious it would be funny.

    Brexit will NEVER happen!
Boris will blame it on Covid-19.
    And try again

      1. Charlie

They’re a sorry people. I’d love to say I feel sadness but the ignorance of so many nullifies that emotion. They’ve a disheveled lying buffoon at the helm and an arrogance amongst so many that has them still believe they rule the waves. May they rest in peace.

    1. GiggidyGoo

Just saw Preti Patel on Sky this morning. She’d be quite a catch for Michilín O’Generalization Martin. Plus she has a dose of the Simon Harris ‘look at my face, I’m serious’ stare. Turned over to BBC News, and she was questioned almost word for word there, and the ‘answers’ were likewise word for word. Like our boyos, she got a free ride from the TV media.

Professor David Livermore is a Professor in Medical Microbiology at the University of East Anglia and member of Time4Recovery

He asks- “For ‘normal’ coronavirus, the infection rate for such contacts is 15 to 20 per cent, rising to 30 per cent for spouses.

But are those proportions higher for the new variant? Surely the answer must exist in the wealth of data collected for the testing regime?

Second, how many have been taken to hospital directly from the community with the new variant, and how many have caught it inside?

Not only will this tell us whether it’s more lethal but, if the variant really is more contagious, we should expect to see more in-hospital transmission, as that is where cases will be clustered.

Until those questions are answered, we cannot rule out the possibility the recent rise in Covid cases has little to do with the new variant’s transmissibility, but is largely the consequence of the expansion in Test and Trace.”

    https://www.dailymail.co.uk/debate/article-9077161/PROF-DAVID-LIVERMORE-mutant-virus-really-control.html

Good luck getting any sort of straight or honest answer to those questions.

    1. Oro

Are you asking these questions or are you quoting questions that this Livermore person is asking? If you’re asking them can’t you google them and provide some answers to make a point? What is your point? Your entire comment seems meaningless, but I suppose what’s one more on the pile.

Although I appreciate that zinger at the end. How arch.

        1. Brother Barnabas

this is the greatest, most heinous assault on human rights in the history of humanity

if you thought slavery, sex trafficking, genocide, the holocaust, environmental destruction etc were bad – wait for it: THEY WANT YOU TO WEAR A MASK IN PENNEYS!!! what’s next? compulsory hand washing?!

thank fupp for people like soq, flawless, whacko micko and ematty for “just asking questions”

          1. Micko

            He he! Oh Brother.

I bet you dream about us – don’t you?

There you are, tossing and turning all night, mumbling to yourself incessantly.

“No, no… so much misinformation! Must get to the computer…must make them stop!! Only I can stop them! No SOQ No! Your figures are wroooong!!!”

            Good times

          2. Brother Barnabas

no, I dont dream about you. and it doesnt keep me awake.

but, yeah, lying ratlickers do bother me

sad thing for you, micko – the others clearly have an agenda, but its apparent that you’re just the dim sidekick going along for the ride without any real idea what you’re associating yourself with

          3. millie bobby brownie

That’s a very erotic image Micko. Dare I say it… too erotic for this hour of the morning.

            You filthy thing.

        2. SOQ

BB if you want to swallow every piece of government BS that is pumped out then that that is your prerogative but you don’t get to dictate or censor what other say or discuss.

There is no new evidence of a new infectious mutant because if there was you can be contain that they wold have produced it by now.

Critical easements of this madness is exactly what is needed because otherwise unelected careerist clowns like Holohan, O’Neill and McConkey have full run and God helps us if that happens.

          1. Brother Barnabas

I don’t pay any attention to “government BS”, soq – that’s not what I’m talking about

and I’ve never called for anyone to be censored

sorry that you dont like me remarking on your double standards, selective presentation of data and failure to discern obvious charlatans with a self serving agenda

you’re free to say whatever you want, but I’m equally free to dismiss it – however loudly I want – as utter fupping boo boo

          2. millie bobby brownie

Honestly, queenie, you could play conspiracy bingo with your comments these days and win easily based on those alone.

You believe what you believe, sure, but maybe take a step back over Christmas and give your head the break. I mean this sincerely and with no malice or cattiness. Everyone deserves a bit of break now and then.

          3. SOQ

Name me one person I have quoted whom you think is a charlatan BB?

@ Millie- Carl Henegehan, Sunetra Gupta, Ivor Cummins and now the time4recovery people are NOT conspiracy theorists and they are my main sources of information.

Now if you want to paint them as such then that says a lot more about you than them.

          4. millie bobby brownie

I didn’t attack your sources soq, if you want to reread my comment. I did comment on YOUR language, and frankly it was concern which prompted it, kindly meant.

            Either way, you’ll do you.

          5. johnny

you asked for me to be banned.

you claimed numerous time to be a landlord

you boasted that you make LARGE tax payments every nov on this rental income..Mr Large was the exchange..

but carry on bro…are you panties too tight again today.

          6. Brother Barnabas

no, I didn’t, johnny – I recall describing your boasts about upskirting teenage girls as reprehensible and shouldnt be tolerated on BS, which I stand by.

the landlord thing again? boring now. I’m not.

          7. Brother Barnabas

a charlatan for sure. I dont know whether or not he actually believes what he publishes so cant say if hes a genuine conspiracy theorist or not. I suspect his main objective is straightforward self promotion.

          8. SOQ

He was the first to dare to suggest their was a seasonal element to CoVid-19 and got absolutely railed for it, Now, the seasonal element is accepted as fact.

He introduced data science into the debate not just here but also in the UK which has shown the likes of Ferguson up for what they are- the REAL charlatans. Is he promoting himself? Of course and why wouldn’t he be?

That does not make him a charlatan however, especially when we have zero CoVid zealots running around spouting BS that a virus which is already endemic can be “controlled”

      1. Junkface

Has anyone noticed the pattern of mistrust and disbelief in covid 19 dangers during a successful period of virus spread suppression, is swiftly followed by a new wave of virus spreading due to complacency, get togethers indoors & a lack of care (sure it’s only a flu)?

Rinse and repeat humanity…..rinse and repeat

        1. SOQ

Basically its people’s fault then is it?

Peru had the hardest lockdown in the world followed by the highest number of deaths- go figure.

          1. Junkface

Of course its people’s fault at some level. Its a Pandemic! Covid 19 affects people not Lamas.

Everything that has happened since the start of the outbreak is because of people.

Sweden had the most relaxed lockdown, or barely any. Massive death count, go figure.

          2. Cian

            @SOQ
Peru had the hardest lockdown in the world followed by the highest number of deaths- go figure.

            Fake news!

Peru has had neither of these.

  4. Gerry

Note the cheeky use of passive voice in the Express headline …”Now Tier 4 to Spread” it’s just spreading, the level 4 lockdown, ordered by no one (especially not by the PM, oh no) like algae in a pond.

  5. Chevy Chase

Any word how the Swedish lads are getting on? I presume their herd immunity is also working for the new strain?

      1. bisted

…a recent sample of Broadsheeters has revealed that in 100percent of cases that no immunity was achieved by previous victims of the virus…

    1. Joe

Sweden is much worse than its Nordic neighbors.

      https://www.dw.com/en/coronavirus-sweden-implements-tougher-restrictions-as-cases-rise/a-55992637

“The Swedish government, which has thus far left most schools, businesses and restaurants open during the pandemic, announced the closure of non-essential public workplaces, such as gyms, pools and libraries.
Prime Minister Lofven also said the wearing of face masks would now be recommended on public transport during peak hours.
“Now we see that we need to do more because we see that the spread of the infection is too serious and we have a strained situation in the healthcare system still,” Lofven said.”

Sweden registers a record 9,654 new COVID-19 cases on Friday
      https://www.reuters.com/article/us-health-coronavirus-sweden-cases-idUSKBN28S1P8

      1. SOQ

Have a look at Z-scores by country on https://www.euromomo.eu/graphs-and-maps/ instead of expecting expecting others to form your opinion for you.

There you will see that Sweden is doing pretty good considering that their focus has been on keeping society as normal as possible.

What is going on in Switzerland and Slovenia?

  6. millie bobby brownie

It’s YOUR language I’m making a comment on here, soq, not Carl Hennegan or Ivor Cummins or whoever the hell else. Here’s an example of the kind of language I mean:

    *muzzles
    *face nappies
    *unelected careerists
    *just asking questions

I’m sure there’s plenty more, all your own words, from the hundreds of comments you’ve made here in the past months, all on one topic.

It was genuine concern that prompted my comments, fwiw, because I’ve always enjoyed your non-covid commentary, and there’s been a notable lack of anything outside of this one topic, barring that of the Biden election.

    1. SOQ

Muzzles and face nappies are well used terms by mask and lockdown sceptics. As for asking questions- when did it become so unreasonable to ask for evidence that a new strain is 70% more infectious? It is BS.

      1. millie bobby brownie

Didn’t realise it was just that *one* question you were asking, queenie. Seems like an awful lot more than that, judging by the many, many, many questions you’ve posited here over the past nine or so months here.

        Silly, unreasonable me, huh?

        1. Cian

He keeps asking questions, and they are answered (but not how he wants them)… so he come up with new questions.

      2. Chevy chase

They may be well known terms but they make you sound like an absolute cretin and any point you’re trying to make to convince people of something loses every iota of its value.

  7. Junkface

Face nappies! Good God that is pathetic. Muzzles is pretty sad too, but at least has some logic.

So what happens when a person does not wear a ‘face nappy’? Do they defecate down their chin? Jeeeeayzus, get a grip.

  8. johnny

The editors of CBT reflect on the articles they liked best this year.

-cannabis is big business with lots resources, some end year bits and pieces on the state play in the industry last year.

    https://www.cannabisbusinesstimes.com/article/cannabis-business-times-editors-pick-favorite-stories-2020/

the industry is so over celeb’s-expect for fanboy me-the whole cashing in on the blues brothers thing….nah.

“Over the years, the cannabis industry has attracted a flood of celebrities looking to capitalize on the gold rush. In CBT’s March cover story, Senior Editor Brian MacIver profiles actor, comedian and musician Jim Belushi, who added “cannabis cultivator” to his list of titles in 2016”

    1. Junkface

Trust the plan to fleece the rubes before the circus leaves town. Ha ha! Suckers! They’re being played, so played.

        1. Junkface

Is this the Kracken again, or a mass shooting related to Qanon / Trump cultists losing their minds in January?

          1. Bodger

Junkface, have you any idea what’s actually going on? Do you really believe Biden won the election and will be inaugurated?

          2. Nigel

Bodger there have been no real indications that Biden did not legitimately win or will not be legitimately inaugurated. Are you favouring Trump declaring martial law?

          3. Junkface

            @Bodger
“Junkface, have you any idea what’s actually going on? Do you really believe Biden won the election and will be inaugurated?”

Yes, I keep up on the US election news everyday. I follow left wing, right wing, and centrist journalists in Washington. They all say Biden won, the court cases were a charade and Trump is using his last weeks as president to raise money for fake court cases from gullible cultist followers. The money will end up in Trumps “charities”, for future fraud investigations.

          4. Rosette of Sirius

Well, according to Bodger it’s still coming. That’s gonna be one helluva Qgasm. In reality however this nonsense is the conspiratorial equivalent of a pair of infertile bojanglies and a flacid, dysfunctional dingaling….

  9. Charger Salmons

Yes indeed, Boris is mightily unpopular with his reaction to Covid-19 and Brexit negotiations.

    CON: 39% (+2)
    LAB: 37% (-)
    LDEM: 6% (-2)

    Marvellous.
And now to a long boozy Christmas lunch with some old chums.
There will be no shortage of fine wines or raucous laughter.
