Here’s mine.

Please include video links if possible.

Clocking in at just over 3mins, I set myself the Challenge of trying too finish the hoovering before the song ends, it’s got a rhythm and beat that goes perfectly with the back and forth motion for this chore .

The brilliant Golden Horde with, I Never Came Down.

    Enjoy!!

    (It’s good to be back!)

She only happy when she’s dancing – Bryan Adams.
Old school but now the song is in your head for the day!

Let’s Dance performed by Nile Rodgers

I loved Bowie’s version and enjoyed seeing him perform in Dublin it but when I hear it now its forever tinged with a certain poignancy now that he has passed away.

Let’s Dance was produced by Nile Rodgers who turned it into a world wide hit for Bowie. If you ever go to a Nile Rodgers gig I guarantee you will have a party :)

Queen -I want to break free-

And not only because Freddie Mercury is doing the hoovering and dancing all over the room…

Wax Fang, Majestic. In this you can Hoover and do all the grand, over the top, think you’re a king or queen around the room gestures and dance moves you could possibly want (includes guitar solo for added whoomph).

Also, welcome back Bertie, you were missed, pal.

I have a couple of robots now to do the hoovering, but I’ll still play…

One LCD Soundsystem already mentioned but given the track title, to me has to be…

    Dance Yrself Clean!

    https://youtu.be/OoA0cTC228M

One of my fave LCD tracks of all time too….

It would, but unfortunately I can’t collect the royalties, I remember
Sigue Sigue Sputnik sold the space in between each track on their first album too advertising and made a fortune!!
        Brilliant idea!!

it’s this new fangled thing called wireless headphones, a decent set, game changer, do all my housework with decent music taking the sting out of it,
essential for long commutes too….also if your partner works from home and they don’t want to listen to your podcasts or you their meetings :)

I just wanted an excuse to post that vid. It’s one of my favourite edits on youtube

Louis Armstrong – what a wonderful world.

When I vaccum I am not distracted and reflect on all the good in the world, people doing the right thing, animals going about their business, rivers flowing. Total escapism.

I think that’s what louia Armstrong was singing about. I can’t tell cause the lyrics are muffled by the vaccum machine. Sometimes it’s nice to imagine good things.

And it’s not fast tempo song so I get a thorough vaccum done.

Your not the waiter fella in the video that does the karate kick over the room service tray then?

Is it okay for me to like GM after all his drink driving convictions?

Etta James – seven day fool.

Hoover your heart out, my hearties.
no noise cancelling ‘phones on my head, so……. before or after hoovering, indeed, anytime anyday, etta sounds good.
Would you rather brush the dog or hoover ? it is one of life’s imponderables.

  9. Clampers Outside

The song for me is Tosh (1995) by Fluke…. because, well, it is super :)

I used to do most of my hoovering and cleaning after a big night out as I always found it a good way to get up and work off the previous nights excesses.
The single came with 4 mixes – GOSH, MOSH, COSH & POSH – with the first, GOSH, being my preferred as it’s, a faster track with a fuller sound that feels really lush, but yet it won’t grate on that sore head, but instead, carry you away to the night before as you run that sucker over the floors :)

No better tune to lift the spirits while working off the excesses of the night before while doing the mundane of the morning after :)

    Lyrics…

    “Super human fly, super sensitized
Super this and that, super value pack
Super grass for gain, super power games
    Super secret spy, under supervised
On a super stage, Super market chains
Super tanker spill, pinpoint super kill
Super info fact, super computer hack
Super master plan, cream of superman

Super deluxe fit, super shuttle trip
Super weekend break, super move to make
Sherlock super sleuth, super channel news
Future super race, super heavy weight
    Super sexy stars, superficial farce
Superseding all, super 4 point 4
Super 2 point 2, super me and you
On a super charge, living super fast”

…….. (there’s plenty more super stuff)

And let’s not forget the video… Yes, it’s a “montage” type thing, but it works, is edited, so beautifully well it is still today a joy to watch! …after the hoovering is done, of course :0)
