This morning.

The UK Advertising Standards Authority has told  Ryanair that its “Jab & Go” advert (above) must not run again in its current form.

Via UK Aviation:

The watchdog received a large number of complaints about the campaign which told customers “vaccines are coming” and encouraged them to book flights in order to “Jab & Go”.

The ASA upheld the complaints saying that it was “likely that consumers would interpret the phrase ‘vax and go’/‘jab and go’ as an unequivocal endorsement of vaccinating and travelling unconditionally.”.

In response, Ryanair said it would comply with the ruling but disagreed with the decision.

Ryanair went on to claim that the decision meant all advertising for Airlines, Tour Operators, and travel agents for travel or holidays this Easter & Summer should also be banned.

Ryanair’s ‘Jab & Go’ campaign is outlawed by ASA (UK Aviation)

Thanks Ted

Best comment after Liverpool’s defeat yesterday:

“Van Dijk hasn’t played for Southampton for ages but they’re in the 5th round of the FA Cup”

Funnily enough Bertie I’m a huge admirer of Michael O’Leary and what he’s done with the great Irish success story of Ryanair.
I have great sympathy with their current predicament – how else do you try to drum up business for the summer by offering the hope that vaccines may open up travel again ?
The company has taken no bailout money from the State because of the strings attached to it and is using its vast cash reserves to stay afloat.
The share price is holding up well too thanks goodness because I filled my boots during the first lockdown when they dipped below a tenner.

It’s not yet known if vaccination stops you from giving other people Covid-19, even if you are leas likely to fall ill from it yourself.

Michael O’Leary is just a good old capitalist business man doing what he does best. He would throw his granny out of a Boeing if it made a profit for shareholders

I won’t hear any smack talk about Ryanair on here. it has facilitated so many beautiful memories over the last 20 years.
