Well this is nice, isn’t it?
Have a great weekend everyone, stay safe, be cool, and be sure to try something you’ve never done before.

    1. Cú Chulainn

Just lovely Scottser..refreshing, informative and no jab jab jab talk.. nice weekend ahead, even with a great big bag of losses… who knows.. happy moments..

      1. Charger Salmons

Yet you have nothing to say about anything other than my absence which you have been demanding for weeks.

        1. Micko

I find your will to post here every single day for the amount of time you did quite impressive.

That is some level of commitment, just to annoy people.

          1. Charger Salmons

            Early doors yet Micko.
Comparisons of the vaccine roll-outs will define European politics for a long time.
I like to be ahead of game while others here bury their head in the sand.
After 50 Vax Facts the number of responses about vaccines can be counted on the fingers of two hands.
All the other hundreds are abuse – they’re frightened because they’re too afraid to do anything about their elected representatives’ incompetence.
There’ll be a different reaction on the continent where electorates are far less timid.

      2. Nigel

Leave Charger alone. He’s just as shocked as everyone else that Boris hasn’t screwed up the UK vax rollout yet and he’s trying to process it in his own way.

        1. Brother Barnabas

racing ahead without due diligence to administer a product to a demographic it doesnt work on, all for the purposes of cheap PR, might yet emerge as another boris botch

  2. Charger Salmons

Right here, brought to you by your early-to-bed, early-to-rise cricket correspondent.

    Charger’s Vax Facts™ #50 ( Half-century Not Out edition )

The UK vaccine innings continues to advance in the morning session with another 484,596 doses being added to the scoreboard total of 11,477,040 with Van-Tam and Whitty still at the crease.

It’s expected that everyone over the age of 50 will have been vaxxed by May and all the most vulnerable to have received a second shot by June – just in time for the new cricket season.
Ireland’s official total remains unchanged overnight at 219,200 declared.

Some rare good news for Ireland though as new research on the efficacy of the UK/AZ vaccine shows excellent results for the over-70s as well as in fighting the Kent variant.
But Ireland opting to ignore the EMA’s advice that the jab is perfectly safe for the elderly is now beginning to look like a poor decision by the home team after losing the earlier toss.

And in Israel cases & hospital admissions are falling steeply among vaccinated age groups, in the first clear sign worldwide that Covid-19 jabs are preventing illness.
Rates are falling much more slowly (if at all) among under-vaccinated groups who are still on a sticky wicket.

Meanwhile, cartoon brilliance from yesterday in case you missed it.

    HOWZAT !

    1. Joe F

Ah that’s mighty stuff, fair play to you Kate for finding us that information. Great to hear something new. Any word of the deaths in the UK or how Bozo is getting on with that?
You seem very concerned about letting everyone know how the Tories are doing in the latest polls. I suppose you are right, that would be more important than the 1,014 deaths in the last 24 hours in the UK, bringing the total to 111,264. UK is 5th highest out of 221 countries for deaths per million population currently, Ireland is 44th.
No chance of you commenting at all on that Admiral? Or do you just pretend it doesn’t exist?
      Marvelous.

    2. MacGafraidh

You may not know this but we’ve taken a different approach in Ireland that may in fact work in the uk. It’s a selective vaccination program. The only people to receive the vacc are those without criminal records, any history of being unethical such as stealing a 99 pence (Irish) custard creams from your local Mace, putting old coins you’ve found lying around into the church basket and eating food from Quinnsworth / Crazy Prices whilst you walk around shopping so you don’t have to pay. These are the kind of animals we can do without and refuse to vaccinate. You might do the same in the uk ya dirty biscuit stealing animals.

555-8 at stumps on the 2nd day out in the Bay of Bengal.
Bloomin’ marvellous effort by the England lads toiling in the Chennai heat and humidity.
Time to get up for a late breakfast, take the dogs for a spin around the grounds of Chateau Charger then back for the rugger.
I fear our celtic cousins won’t be as generous as our former colony was this morning.
      I say,what ?

      1. Charger Salmons

To put this into perspective, before I have a late breakfast this morning the UK will have already vaccinated more people than the entire Irish vaccination programme.
The EU has our backs™ …

        1. Joe F

Still ignoring your disgusting joke at the expense of those unfortunate Vietnamese Kate? How any human being could write something so vile about 39 others shows what type of person that is. Well done Admiral Nelson. You’re more concerned about counting comments about you than the lives of Vietnamese.

  3. Charlie

So anyway, have a nice relaxing weekend folks. Steer clear of Covid chat and news. There’s a million things more important going on. Be wise, exercise.

      1. Bertie blenkinsop

        Morning all.
        Not a bad day out.
Just having a coffee here, listening to the radio while the rest of the family are asleep
Gonna walk the dog, tidy up the shed, wash the cars, bring mini me to the park on his scooter, go shopping for my folks and I’ve a couple of lamb shanks simmering away in the slow cooker for later.
Today is a gift that’s why we call it the present.
        Stay safe Ya saps!

        1. millie bobby brownie

That sounds wonderful. Can I come too?

You’ve given me an awful goo for lamb. Love a nice bit of lamb so I do.

        1. Charger Salmons

If you’re jealous of someone tidying up their shed you can come round and give my outbuildings a sorting.
I’ve ordered my Slovakian handyman to stay away for the moment.
No need to buff the Jag though.
          That’s Lady C’s job.

          1. Brother Barnabas

took your challenge, j – working way to berlin in august. did 20km for first time ever yesterday. ankles and shins in ribbons today but feeling enthused!

          2. Janet, dreams of an alternate universe

oh that’s brilliant, bravo ! that’s a great mile stone, lots of rest now before you go high mileage again, I’m vicariously happy through you !

          3. Brother Barnabas

thanks! sitting in an ice bath now – thought I’d maybe do a short run tomorrow but not sure I’ll be able. on my botty until monday.

          4. Janet, dreams of an alternate universe

no harm, sure most injuries are because folks rush training and don’t rest enough ! My first marathon ever I had stupidly given myself a hairline fracture in my tibia because I pushed the distance too much without rest, there was a lot of paracetamol in my running belt d day, so now I’m all over feet up :)

          5. Rosette of Sirius

The best tip I can give any runner is to replace the insoles of your running shoes with these – Bauerfeind Run Walk. Not cheap but worth every penny.

            https://www.bauerfeind-sports.com/sports-insoles-run-walk/

I’ve tried them all from Superfeet to custom carbon plate and while they helped, these are just incredible.

Another thing to to is to get your gait analyzed to you are buying the right shoes.

I’m getting onto 50 soon and while my best years are behind me, I reckon I still have a sub three hour marathon in the tank.

So, yeah. The right shoes and run walk insoles.

          6. Brother Barnabas

that’s exactly what I use. also a pair of bauerfeind knee supports – also brilliant. used to regular’ish get swelling beneath knees but completely gone since started using these. and cant beat the giddy excitement of first run in a new pair of runners.

          7. Rosette of Sirius

Knees are is good nick bit I’ve move from ASICS back to Adidas ultraboost shoes in recent years with no regrets. I over pronate and would not be able to move from my Kayanos without decent insoles. Happy trails!

    1. Gabby

Avoid reading unsettling news – read wholesome romantic novels by Jane Austen, Maeve Binchy, Cecilia Ahern…

  4. Charger Salmons

Another dreadful week for EU diplomacy which has ended with a US rebuke for one of the EU’s leading diplomats over a disastrous visit to Russia.
The High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell’s trip to Moscow just as opposition leader Alexei Navalny was being jailed was a triumph.
    For Russia.
Instead of castigating the Ruskies Birrell was played and ended up urging the EU to consider the Sputnik vaccine to make up its own shortfall.
Under Von Der Lyin the EU staggers from one disaster to another.

    1. Joe F

Any chance of you trying to explain your disgusting joke at the expense of those unfortunate Vietnamese Kate? No, of course not, well if you write something so vile, it shows what a lowlife you are Admiral.

    2. bisted

…anyone else have to translate Chargers comments from jinglish janglage…the gist of what he’s saying is that EU foreign affairs secretary got reassurance from our near neighbours in Russia that their proven Sputnic vaccine would be available should they experience supply difficulties with their own…even though they have paid upfront for their development…the visit coincided with yet another court appearance of convicted fraudster Alexis Navalny who seems to be the latest criminal chosen by the USA to focus their demonisation of Russia under the new administration there, the continuity Democrats…

      1. Charger Salmons

Putin’s poodle yapping away for all he’s worth this morning.
Makes a change from Frau Merkel’s lap I suppose …

    1. Bitnboxy

Lot of rumours swirling about this Eton teacher Will Knowland. The row stems from his talk in which he quoted an article claiming women want to be ‘overwhelmed by the sheer power of masculinity’ when it comes to sex. So far, normal stuff.

And what are those rumours? He is a big aul closet case. I’d be stunned if true.

      1. Charger Salmons

        Rumours about someone’s sexuality ?
        Being in the closet ?
Are we turning the clocks back all of a sudden ?

        1. Brother Barnabas

          not really rumours, charger

english public school system is nothing more than a massive predatory grooming club – veritable petri dish to foster and encourage a deviant form of homosexuality. who then go onto form the upper echelons of the tory party. ever been to the carlton club? I bet you have. i have too. tory toffs and windsors preying on young boys. this is who is running britain.

          1. bisted

…a bit like the semenaries over here then…except they’ve perfected controlling everything and keeping their pet toadies to deal with politics and media…

          2. GiggidyGoo

Even pigs aren’t safe with these tory boys.
You can see the attitude to women that Bpox (Charger) has as well. ‘So far, normal stuff’. Tory boys will be tory boys after all.

          3. Bitnboxy

Nice try Giggidyloon, particularly with your own past macabre comments about the HPV vaccine. Get your abusive backside back to Grift Media where you belong, and take your aliases with you.

            As I say tooty-pants, troddle on…

Oh and learn to appreciate sarcasm. ;-p

          4. GiggidyGoo

Bpox – you tried that HPV route before, but were unable to point to anywhere that I even commented on the HPV vaccine.

Then again, you were the one telling SOQ to shove things in a particular place of his body. And now you’re normalizing anti-woman sentiment. Typical charger trait.

As McCabe has said, you have severe disorder issues. Don’t you think it’s time to address them?

        2. Bitnboxy

Lol. Mods changed ####### to “tooty’-pants” – I rather think the former is the more apposite term for Giggidyloon.

      2. deluded

The power dynamic has a part to play in relationships.
Depending on his tastes perhaps our valiant warrior is uncomfortable with alternative views.

..so the judge who ruled for McKillen,in a ground breaking, precedent setting case, was recently his counsel,oh…
some color on what McKillen has at stake.

“Between Press Up Entertainment — 42 hospitality and food and beverage sites and counting — and developer Oakmount — more than 25 commercial and residential projects in the portfolio — business partners Matt Ryan and Paddy McKillen Jnr have been building a strong presence in the capital over the last nine years..”

grand then so you wont need any state money.

“Although there was huge interest on the roadshow in the UK about us going public, it was something that we just weren’t confident enough about at the time. And we’re under no great pressure to do anything. We know how to keep going and growing, no matter what’s happening. So, it’s something we’d never rule out but it’s not something that’s currently on the table.”

I have ’em like a performing flea circus.
Even when I’m not here they’re jumping up and down.
There are only a handful of smart ones left who are not in Chump’s Corner now.
          Respect.

          1. Joe F

I can add narcissist to racist to describe you now Kate. You really are showing your colours now. You obviously like counting, last Sunday you didn’t post for a few hours, when you returned you said there were 60+ comments in relation to you. You’re doing the same here again.
What about the 39 Vietnamese who lost their lives in the most shocking way imaginable? You posted a cheap, disgusting joke about them. Doesn’t bother you obviously, their 39 lives, using them to have a cheap shot at some other person who posted.
            Shame on you.

  5. Lilly

Excellent Tomorrow Tonight! David’s discursive style is more suited to broadcasting than writing IMO.

  6. White Dove

Really enjoyed this Tomorrow Tonight. A really high-level discussion between two very bright and articulate persons.
