Oh good man Kate. Not going to answer my question about how the India vs England match is going. Well, surprisingly England getting absolutely hammered. That’s you Admiral down to a tee, just ignore any negative news re England/UK. Sound familiar.
      Marvelous.

When Mrs scottser and myself got married, I had the lads in my band play ‘waiting in vain’ by Bob Marley when she came up the aisle. Just outside she had a dress malfunction leaving us all grooving and sweating in august bank holiday heat for 25 mins.
    Was it worth the wait?
    Totally.

    For J, my whole world:

When I discussed today’s competition with herself and I told her I was going too dedicate a song to the first love of my life which is, music (and live music) let’s just say it didn’t go down so well!

So I thought I better do the right thing and dedicate my choice to my best friend, my soul mate,my beautiful angel and hopefully soon to be Mrs Pipkin!

Unbelievably she’s not really into music but this has been our song since I first introduced her to it.

Definitely. A cup of tea in bed and some chocolate, followed by a handmade (slightly grubby) card from the kids.

that’s a true cracker, andy. and, related, can you help me out on this:

I bought that – either an EP or a 12″ way way back – in freebird on eden quay. alas long lost. there was a b-side – first line “so what if I was stoned the night i asked you out”. do you know the song title? would love to hear it again

        Brother B.

It’d take me quite awhile to try and find it in the collection, ( I used too have it alphabetical but the more the collection grew I couldn’t be bothered!)

But I did manage too find this, it’s the EP tracks

        • Friends in Time / Stop Thinking / Tinsel on the Phone / Rendezvous with Destiny

Hopefully this is of some help?

ah thanks a million, Andy – that’s it: third track ‘Tinsel on the Phone’

sounds just as good as I remember it – (but not quite the first line)

I’ve been ages trying to figure that out – cheers!
