What religion demands that you DON’T cover your face? Sad to see the usual head the balls try to exploit Aldi’s common sense.

    1. Junkface

That’s what I was thinking. Religious reasons?

We’re lucky its not Ebola on the loose so, “for religious reasons I am spreading instant death.” This is dumb as hell. What a crappy doctor.

      1. ce

        hahaha +1

Can you imagine Clare Byrne, Pat Kenny, and Joe Duffy all interviewing the ASTI on the airwaves for an Ebola outbreak… t’would be the craic

    1. Broadbag

It’s almost like he’s a bit tapped, seeing this absolute nothing sign as the start of a revolution, weirdo!

      1. Marguerite Tronçonneuse

Attention Deficit Disorder. He was lacking attention, makes a tweet, Bodger treats it as gospel, republishes here and Dr Headtheball gets an orgasmic amount of attention to placate his needs.

  2. Pat

It must be tough for those few people with genuine medical reasons or not wearing a mask. What with conspiracy nut bags, selfish oafs and pretendy ‘religious’ objectors all desperately looking for attention

    1. Marguerite Tronçonneuse

People with genuine medical reasons at least try with face shields, or get someone to do their shopping for them because they understand what’s at stake.

  3. Dr.Fart

these anti-maskers.. it’s such a pointless thing to the angry about. Put it on for the 10 mins youre in a shop. That’s it. That’s all you have to do. Even if you don’t believe in the undeniable facts about wearing masks, why not just effin do it? it doesnt impede you or hamper you in any way. It’s embarrassingly transparent as to why they make a fuss about such a nothing thing. Literally just to make noise and get attention. That’s it. You can see it in their faces when they talk, you can see it behind their eyes, they know it’s nonsense but they don’t care, they just want to pick an opposing side. Normally I wouldn’t care, but when it costs lives, then for me, you’ve given up your own right to not be thumped on the bonce.

    1. Brother Barnabas

and they’re the same ones that wail about lockdowns – missing the fact that we wouldnt need lockdowns if it wasnt for these brainless silly billies

      1. Brother Barnabas

        it’s not just masks

the ones who refuse to wear masks are the same ones who dismiss the value of social distancing, disregard requests not to congregate indoors etc

        1. Psy-en-ce

          LOCKDOWN 4EVA with Brother Barnabas

          YAY!!!

Forget about breathing. What do you need that poxy oxygen for anyway?

          It’s only a mask.

          It’s only two masks.

It’s only four masks and a daily anal swab…

          YAY SCIENCE!!

          1. Brother Barnabas

            1. masks do not affect oxygen intake. that’s been proven.

            2. brother barnabas does not support lockdowns

          2. Brother Barnabas

expert scientific opinion v a lad on the internet called crocodile dundalk

            that’s fair enough, I suppose

          3. Brother Barnabas

and just think: laughter boosts the immune system, they say

so you’re very likely covid-invincible after all that giggling and guffawing

I’m not saying you owe me, but…

        2. Marguerite Tronçonneuse

If a mask affects your oxygen intake, see a doctor! Actually see doctors, nurses, attendants in hospitals wearing them all day every day and not fainting or dying from lack of oxygen.

I’ve a suspicion, those who think a mask reduces their oxygen aren’t getting the full compliment to their brain in the first place – and that’s without a mask!

          1. Crocodile Dundalk

            Who said anything about fainting..?

A mask reduces your O2 intake, the degrees of it are debateble, it definitely reduces O2 intake though.

  4. Chevy Chase

    Insufferable blowhard.

I see he has retweeted one tweet, presumably without any irony that “we shouldn’t listen to anyone who isnt an immunologist” with the Marcus doubling down saying “When are we going to examine the credentials if the Lockdown “experts””

When indeed? Bodger would have nothing to post.

  5. goldenbrown

    ugh

this sounds an awful lot like the “don’t focus on what he said, this is what he really meant…” zealot doublespeak that GOP heads will come out with when scrambling to defend yet another amazing made for TV gaffe from their Trump-god

spare me and keep yourself to yourself please

        Micko
no, I’m not a yank myself but I’d follow the goings on over yonder when I can.
this boy? he’s a twister. he’s like the wan in the classroom who’s never wrong and on the many occasions when he is (lol) will seize upon some minutiae that he’ll try align to his cause as a proof to convince himself and others that he was right all along, see? aka self-serving spin. can’t help himself. am I happy with how things are? jasus no. but he’s got nowt to do with that, his utterings are not socially acceptable to me he’s just a noise and I heard enough out of him a long time ago. my unhappiness lies in the way our weak as piss govt have dealt with things. never fully committed. they sat on their hands and went with the flow and just continue to do so…..week to week…things like the current LC debacle happened exactly for this reason, no plan no leadership no strategy, go with the flow, lets see what happens, shure we be grand, by the time we have to deal with LC again there’s a good chance it’ll be gone away by then so no point in taking a lead there. oh and with the odd Titanic moment thrown in too like opening up for Xmas. certainly finally lost us whatever shot we had at a NZ. I’ve yet to meet a single person who says it was worth it and thinks we’re better off for it today.

        1. Micko

          Ah fair enough GB

I always like to focus on what going on here, so when I hear someone talking about US politics in relation to Ireland it always raises an eyebrow. ;)

On Markus, I don’t know much about him other than what gets posted here, but as I’ve said before – this covid thing has brought all the attention grabbing snakes to the surface – on both sides.

Ivor Cummins and Luke O’Neill are two sides of the same coin.

On Markus being similar though, I’m not too sure.

From what I can see he’s never changed his opinion on things and even put his professional career on the line.

Even if he’s wrong – he’s got balls.

And that is something we have short supply of ;)

  6. chimpy

If you cant wear a mask get someone else to do your shopping or get it delivered. Is that not what people have been doing? Seems like common sense to me. Fupp off with your covid germs you maskless horror.

        1. bisted

…the only garb shared by advocates of the flying spaghetti monster – blessed be his noodley appendages – is a colander for headgear which is usually worn in the privacy of ones own kitchen…does not interfere with mask wearing…

  7. Cian

Aldi Ireland is a subsidiary of the UK ops, where there are far more people with fake eBay-bought lanyards saying they can’t wear masks and so on. Hence we get signage more suited to Plague Island; along with awful customer care, British sourced products and emptier shelves since January.

  8. Joe

If someone is so unwell that they are unable to wear a face mask whilst shopping they should not be or encouraged to be in a busy supermarket during a pandemic.
Anyone advocating harm like “Dr” Marcus De Brun need to have any medical licences they have revoked as they are a danger to society.
The courts have stepped in when life saving treatment is required .e.g. Jehovah’s Witnesses refusing life saving blood transfusions for their children etc.
It’s about time the courts were used against anyone advocating harm to their fellow citizens.

  9. TypeONegative

+1 to all the sentiments posted here, this man is peddling toxic self-serving nonsense. I’ve seen his bull-headed type in supermarkets, striding into personal spaces with their big smug head on a swivel just hoping someone will call them out.
Oh they know the real truth, they’ve read between the lines and are seeing the code in the Matrix. The world’s health organisations, and millions of medical professionals are wrong and are just trying to save face.
If only the rest of the population could all wake up but we’re blind to it. They’re the special ones, us Joe Public are just sheeple, programmed characters in their videogame, incapable of rational thinking like they are.

  10. Centerest Dad

Ah Marcus. I wonder why he’s still working in a sole doctor practice. Must be because he’s so clever.
