    Charger’s Irish Jab Jibber-Jabber™

We haven’t done one of these for a while.
    So here goes.
The NHS in the UK administered more Covid jabs between 9am-1pm yesterday than Ireland’s entire vaccination programme since it began.
It’ll hit the 20 million target today.
    Marvellous.

I believe you should have concluded your post with some more Star Gold: Van-Tam Thank You Mam

Anyway, shame about the 122000 dead, looking forward to the vaccines the UK will eventually give us because it’s in their interest – until then… stiff upper… corpse

      1. A Lovely Horst

Still, it’s a very eye opening statistic. 4 hours versus 2 months. Surely it can’t be correct.

        1. GiggidyGoo

You can spin statistics anyway you want. For example, the death toll in the uk in the last week was 2341. Total number of deaths in ireland since the pandemic was recognized here (14 months) 4313

      2. Charger Salmons

        What’s your point ?
A single shot of Pfizer or Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine cuts risk of hospitalisation and death by more than 90%.
Germany will soon adopt the UK’s delayed second dose strategy.
Blighty is leading Europe on vaccines like a bull is led with a ring through its nose.

    2. Kate

The head of German vaccination committee now says advise on AstraZeneca -to be given only to those under 65 — had “somehow gone wrong”. What a farce , Charger!

      1. Brother Barnabas

        space, comma, space

looks like “kate” has been assigned charger’s dodgy keyboard for the morning

      1. Charger Salmons

        It is indeed.
Hence all the usual dunderheads from Chump’s Corner more concerned about whether I am Kate or not instead of Ireland and the EU’s appalling vaccine roll-out record.
No wonder Mehole and his fellow third-rate politicians can get away with fooling this dolts.
And this in The Observer will wreck their peanut-sized brains even more …

      Charger’s Irish Jab Jibber-Jabber™ ( Sunday Edition )

The UK adminstered 407,503 vaccine doses yesterday.

Ireland’s total number of vaccinations since the programme began is 409,529.

      #theEUhasourbacks

    1. Charger Salmons

      A farce indeed Kate.
I’d say they just don’t like it up ’em Captain Mainwaring.
As for Napoleon Macron he’s as bad as that French ref in the rugger yesterday.

      1. Deep intake of breath...

Correct me if I’m wrong Charger but did you just respond to Kate by replying to yourself?
(After ‘she’ asked ‘you’ a question)

Because that’s what it looks like.

        1. Brother Barnabas

let he among us who has never forgotten to change the username and email address when switching between online personas cast the first stone

          1. GiggidyGoo

I’d say you’re well experienced. In the meantime, as I said yesterday, I have no need for two names here. I’m well able to take care of myself and don’t need extra names. Unlike a few here, who change their name at will, and use them all at different points in time.

        2. Charger Salmons

Actually Deep it’s a lot simpler than that.
I put up a slightly-tweaked duplicate post in error and in the 5 minutes edit time I re-wrote it to respond to Kate whose post I hadn’t seen.
Fwiw, Bodger has already made it clear on here Kate and I are two separate posters.
This is a rare occasion when I bother to respond to this nonsense because I don’t recognise you as a regular occupant of Chump’s Corner.

          1. V aka Frilly Keane

            STFU Charage

And has participated healthily and honestly wherever she posted here

In the wider submissions from various named columnists, the Broadsheet stock threads like Dr Papers etc, the specials like Bake ‘sheet and the Telly

And has even shared special news with us

There is zero content here to warrant that Space Cadet like you

            And from you

            You

            GFY

I’ve long accepted I’m fair game here
            So have at it lads
But I’m not prepared to accept that Millie St Murder Whatever deserves that stickie pinned into her

          2. Charger Salmons

I’m sure she can cope without any whiney protestations of support from Broadsheet’s resident drama queen …

          3. Charger Salmons

Why not ask Bodger instead of making even more of a fool of yourself ?
            If that’s possible …

          4. GiggidyGoo

I did last time, and he confirmed that he couldn’t tell if you were using multiple names. You’re more than a bit of a clown.

        3. Fergalito

Sure lookit, very easy spot an eejit when they identify themselves so overtly, boner-hard flugelhorn in hand vigorously wielded.

      2. Kate

Lord Haw-Haw would have had a field day in Ireland especially with the keyboard warriors in the “intelligence” department . As you were , Captain
        Mainwaring!

Reading The Times “Conspiracy” article… not much to say really… anybody else got any thoughts?

Can Shakti Ji have a weekly column, she’s probably a better speller than the other two in the article so that would make things easier?

Or maybe Shakti and David Langwallner could debate something related to the history and implications of transnational socio-political activism?

    1. V aka Frilly Keane

If Shakti is the t’was all Soros and that AntiFa crowd doing all the fighting, with paedo protecting Garda plants, …….. we were only handing out prayer cards, flyers warning that 5g Bill Gates controls your immersion, n’ picking daisys . …… n’ only got lost looking for somewhere to be open to get a ‘ 99 on our big day out ….

Then she and fellow minds are already well in here

  3. A Lovely Horst

I am glad I left such a hole of a country ten years ago. It’s not its own country anymore and it’s ruled by a Franco-Deutsche coalition from Europe. Ireland is now the bad bank of Europe and it did not take much time for Europe to attempt to cash the Northern Ireland protocol in.

    1. Deep intake of breath...

Now that’s what I call succinct and confusing at the same time.
      – can you clarify which country you left and where you live now?

You are allowed to give the same answer to both questions. I would.

  4. Johnny

….Sandy Lane is arguably the most important property in Barbados, probably in top 5 in Caribbean,so it’s kinda hard see the alleged ‘agenda’ and bias in the local coroners office.

In order get the body released after the cops ruled out foul play rather quickly, you know the one you found in your bedroom, you have answer a few questions,oh like what happened….were there drugs involved…the bad faith here involved here is breathtaking,.

He halted the inquest disavowed his prior statements and now he claims bias….

‘The inquest also heard that there was a dispute about calls allegedly made asking how quickly Emma McManus’s body could be released for burial, with John McManus denying he had repeatedly telephoned the coroner: “We were in a state of grieving and people were eager for answers, so it wasn’t me that did anything”.

    https://www.thephoenix.ie/2021/01/mcmanus-death-probed-in-barbados/

    1. Johnny

…stop picking on charger,I’ve been Barbados it’s very well run, boatloads coke but didn’t have a narco state vibe.

‘The husband of Emma McManus yesterday declared he was willing to take a test as he denied he told Coroner Graveney Bannister, in a telephone call allegedly made to the magistrate shortly after his wife’s death, that they had been doing “a little cocaine”.

John Paul McManus further denied he telephoned the magistrate several times in an attempt to get his wife’s body released into his custody.

McManus was one of ten witnesses who testified when the Coroner’s Inquest into Emma McManus’ death began in the No. 6 Supreme Court.

The Irishman told the court he walked into their bedroom of their Sandy Lane Estate home to find his wife in bed, propped up against pillows, “like she had been awake and had propped herself up”.

“I looked at her and I was like, ‘Ohmigod!’ and I jumped on the bed and I kind of slapped her in the face initially,!” he said.

McManus said he then ran out the bedroom yelling for his father.‘

      -apols if Phoenix paywall,local reporting.

      https://www.nationnews.com/2021/01/28/husband-denies-cocaine-comment/

What test is he talking about, the tone of a joint is set by its owners,it’s why I avoid paddy run places, like Fitzpatricks dumps in NY,it’s a very loud, noisy and thrash coke scene at sandy lane always was.

Rest In Peace Emma, hope your family and friends insist on finding out what went down that evening, any CTV ?

      1. GiggidyGoo

‘The inquest has been adjourned until next month, when the toxicology report is to be read to the court‘

        1. Johnny

…very few doubt there was lots drugs involved or that he was high.

Sunday and all that, but I’m hoping his ‘omi god I slapped her’ is not in reference to facial brushing, look I’m no expert but do you really prop yourself up peaceful with pillows in bed while high/overdoing it or overdosing on coke, that takes quite few lines like quite a few….

It normally be more dramatic with coke,in the movies, sounds more like alcohol and sedatives…..if only they were staying in a nice place that had cameras…..

      2. Cú Chulainn

Coke and hookers.. I was shocked when I dropped in to Sandy Lane.. slum brothels in Manila are more discrete.. a total cess pit..

        1. Brother Barnabas

you could enter the brothel by the back door/side window/chimney, tape up dem balls and call yourself “kate”

it mightnt be what youre looking for but it’ll probably be what you’re asking for

          hasn’t done Charger any harm

        2. Deep intake of breath...

This is not the Charger you are looking for.
He wouldn’t understand that Star Trek joke.

I thought you were on my side.
Don’t accuse me of of being one of him.
          That hurts

        1. johnny

    2. Charger Salmons

      Here’s a tip Johnny.
I sometimes stay at The Club,Barbados.
It’s a 3-star AI property situated next door to Sandy Lane.
Perfectly adequate for a couple of weeks working on the tan but with hardly any beach to speak of.
As all beaches in Barbados are open to the public there’s nothing to stop anyone wandering next door and parking themselves on the pristine beach in front of Sandy Lane, which is what we often do.
We tend to congregate at Surfside, a bar just up the beach from both properties.
I often bump into fellers there for a drink who we’ve met on the beach at Sandy Lane who are aghast to hear we’re paying £150 a night compared to their £2000 a night.
It’s where all the dealers congregate too – it’s all I can do to skin up a few to assuage the feelings of the poor saps being taken for a ride by yer man Denis.Generally they’re Yanks.Rich but thick. As Americans in the Caribbean often are.
I’m due there again next March for the cricket.
      Marvellous.

      1. GiggidyGoo

        Walter Mitty strikes again.
Do you use the on-street parking in Hounslow to avoid paying the parking charges at Heathrow still? (and come back every day to reload the fee?). What a pl…er, as Del Boy would say)

  5. Johnny

Le secret des grandes fortunes sans cause apparente est un crime oublié, parce qu’il a été proprement fait.

Joe Kennedy is credited with …behind every great fortune is a great crime,I prefer Balzac as mis-quoted in The Godfather,by Puzo.

The secret of a great success for which you are at a loss to account is a crime that has never been found out, because it was properly executed-rough translation.

In fairness,Declan never had the suckers that masquerade as the irish media, buying Into at go on yeah that 150,000,000 house, won it on the horses….

That’s Captain Sir Tom Moore’s funeral.
He did more in the last few weeks of his life than you’ll do throughout the entirety of yours.
      Get off your knees man.

      1. scottser

And the sum total of your achievements is wiping the dribble from your keyboard on a nightly basis.
Tom Moore should be a reminder to every tan that the tories ran the NHS so hard into the ground that it took a 100 year old pensioner to raise funds for it.
Its quite obvious you didn’t serve your country, you’re too much of a coward.

        1. Charger Salmons

And as if on cue along comes Broadsheet’s resident bottom sniffer.
Forever hanging around the posterior of others.
Still, I suppose it makes a change from your regular posts imploring people to ignore me.
I say regular but of course I mean daily.
          Week in,week out.
Chump’s Corner’s default plea for attention.

Well I tell y’all hep cats out there.
There is one mellow vibe going on in the Charger Man Cave tonight.
Lady Charger and I have been horsing into the combustibles since later afternoon and her Ladyship has joined me for an evening of choons and chinwag.
First up – Mo’ Better Blues by the Branford Marsalis Quarter featuring Terence Blanchard.
I’ll crank it up after this …

  8. eoin

I’ve been to a few anti lockdown rallys in the city. And there is a small element of hooligan scumbags at every one. The majority are there to hear speeches and protest the fact that they can’t afford much more of the lockdown. I won’t be attending any more until they become more like the anti Irish Water protests. These trouble makers all have their faces covered and I wouldn’t be surprised to find they worked for the state. I’ve seen agent provocateurs at protests before. Saw some get called out by the crowd and run for protection by the cops at protests before. Slimy and dangerous carry on by our rotten little state. Then the compliant media can run their hit pieces on the whole crowd. Hopefully people wake up once the state starts to force vaccines on people with some passport program. Hopefully.

  9. Charger Salmons

    Big gear change.
Rainy Night in Soho – the Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds cover.
    Brilliant.
Almost but not quite as good as the original.

  10. Charger Salmons

    Talking of covers.
Don’t Think Twice,It’s All Right – Susan Tedeschi.
A very good live version of the Dylan classic.
Violin and Hammond organ talking to each other.
    Spine-tingling.

  11. Charger Salmons

Covid has taken many people but I shed a small inner tear when I heard about John Prine biting the dust.
    I loved that man.
This was always his very best live song.
    Lake Marie.
All nine kick-ass minutes of it.

  12. Charger Salmons

When Dr John died a couple of years ago his family issued a statement saying he died ” at break of day ”
He was always creature of the night.
John Rebennack’s version of the old Duke Ellington classic ” It don’t mean a thing if it ain’t got that swing ” funks along nicely.

  13. Charger Salmons

Staying in New Orelans this is old school Preservation Hall jazz.
Squirrel Nut Zippers – Suits are picking up the bill.
Your foot will not not tap.

  14. Charger Salmons

Lana Del Ray – The greatest.

    Just 2.45″ of brilliance.

  16. Charger Salmons

    Elton John.
    I know.
    Bloody Elton John.
But before he went all showbiz he was a incredibly talented songwriter.
Here’s a track you may not have heard before.
    Skyline Pigeon.
    I know.
A song about a bloody pigeon.
Plays a mean harpsichord as well.
    Enjoy.

  17. Charger Salmons

    Okay. More Elton John.
    I know.
    Bloody Elton John.
But I like his early stuff.
    Mona Lisas and Mad Hatters.
Where did it all go wrong for him ?

  18. Charger Salmons

Guy Clark was one of those songwriters whose songs covered by bigger names than him were more famous than he ever was.
    Here’s one of his best.
    LA Freeway – Guy Clark.

  19. Charger Salmons

    Remember Dido ?
Superstar then disappeared to be normal.
Don’t Leave Home was pop perfection.
This sucker is one of those songs played to death until you’re sick of hearing it then years later hearing it again you remember just how good it was.
    Fantastic production values.
    Simple as.
The only song so far Lady Charger has asked to hear again.

  20. Charger Salmons

Mrs Elvis Costello bangs out a great tune.

Blown Away is a little known track by Jeff Lynne.
Recorded at home and with him playing all the instruments I like it muchly.
So does Lady Charger and that’s all that matters really.

  23. Charger Salmons

    The Boss.
    If I Should Fall Behind.
Not the crappy Point version but the original.
When Johnny Cash died Springsteen moved up to become the unofficial voice of America.
Best heard on a dark night hammering down an empty interstate with the windows down, a cold can of beer between your thighs and a big fat spliff on the go.

  24. Charger Salmons

Seguing nicely into a bit of trippy stuff for a while.
    Bang on the Orbital.
    One Perfect Sunrise.
For that beach in Greece when you’ve been up all night and you just want to see the sunrise, have a cup of coffee, one last toke and hit the sack because you’re knackered and the flight leaves at midday.

  25. Charger Salmons

Tom Traubert’s Blues – Rod Stewart.
    Another great voice.
    Sir Roderick at his best.
Except for Maggie May of course,

  26. Charger Salmons

Lay Down Your Weary Tune – Steve Forbert.
” Your ‘phone call says you’re sorry and the grapevine says you’re free ”
One of my favourite saddest lines ever.

  27. Charger Salmons

I’ve always thought Sting a tosser.
But Fields of Gold is a hell of a tune.
    The live version is best.

  28. Charger Salmons

    Mellowing out now.
Old cranky guts himself Van Morrison.
    Not Supposed To Break Down.
He does write great songs despite everything.

    1. Cú Chulainn

Oh dear Charger, if Lady Charger existed she’d have left you after you night of music appreciation was spent writing anonymously to strangers..

I always like to send Lady C up the wooden hill to Bedfordshire with a spring in her step.
    She loves boogie woogie.
And there’s none better than Amos Milburn with Down The Road Apiece.
He has a fantastic right hand action, so to speak.
    Wahaay !

    Goodnight y’all.

      Bwaaaaaaaa.
It’s only an internet forum.Get a life you sad losers.

      1. Papi
