Oh did we get news? Wonderful stuff.
Hope all is well with Mama and Little Miss Dream, and good luck Dada, that little finger is surprisingly resilient, if my own experience is anything to go by. And I would not have it any other way

    Charger’s Jab Jibber-Jabber™

Here’s a happy jabby story which you can file under the section marked well I never.

The Rev Richard Coles used to be a Cummunard.
Yesterday he was vaccinated with the AstraZeneca vaccine by his GP who he has known since childhood when they both went to kindergarten together where they were taught by the mother of the scientist who developed the AstraZeneca vaccine.

    1. Mick McCabe

      A Communard.
Did he have any reaction, or did he give a bar of Don’t Leave Me This Way, and when the jab went in did he go aaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh Baby

He is a very likeable man. He was on Would I Lie To You a couple of times

    2. Charger Salmons

Meanwhile a quick Sunday morning reminder.
Vaccine doses administered per 100 population:
      UK 33.9
      Ireland 9.33
      EU 8.7

The HSE says it ” hopes ” to have all over-70s vaccinated by the end of May.
The NHS says every adult in the UK will have received at least one vaccine dose by the end of May.
The EU has our backs …

        1. Charger Salmons

          Don’t worry.
We’ll look after our former colonies when we get the chance so more than likely you’ll be getting one of ours before you get one of yours.
Don’t we always bail you out … ?

          1. Charger Salmons

We wouldn’t want the EU to make a gigantic cock-up and attempt to invoke Article 16 again …

    1. Charger Salmons

      His work is done.
Enjoy the retirement Nigel and spending the time filling your boots.
Undoubtedly the most influential UK politician of his era.
UKIP made the referendum happen and the Brexit Party made sure Leave really did mean leave.
A gifted orator and first-rate media performer he is the Scourge of the Smuggerati.
And called out the failed and incompetent EU a long time before they started getting involved in Covid vaccine procurement.
Enjoy some of his finest work.
      https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=1zyHU4SkLMA
      Marvellous.

        1. Charger Salmons

          And why not ?
He was an MEP for almost 30 years so it’s really a workplace pension like anyone else’s although not as much as Big Phil’s even though he resigned in disgrace.
Handy bunce for a few sharpeners down the George & Dragon.

        2. bisted

…the one thing Ming, Mick and Nigel had in common was that they were all elected…sinecure is like it’s gifted to you…like some of our Senators*…

*talking about entitlement…wonder who will qualify for Biden’s $1400?

          1. Charger Salmons

More importantly they can be kicked out too.
But the people responsible for the dreadful vaccine rollout in Ireland cannot.
            Brexit in a nutshell.

          2. Brother Barnabas

            “dreadful vaccine rollout”?

*Share of the total population that have received all doses prescribed by the vaccination protocol as of March 5, 2021:*

            UK: 1.6%
            Ireland: 3%

they’re lying to you, chump. get off your knees.

          3. Oro

It’s a stimulus check, that’s why people that are still earning are being included. Nothing to do with entitlement, it’s an economic kickstart measure. The unemployment benefits are separately defined, and go to ppl who qualify for them. Idk if you know much about the US unemployment benefits system but let’s just say they don’t make it easy to qualify for them in the first place, and then they don’t give you benefits for long. So entitlement doesn’t really figure at all sorry.

          4. bisted

…It’s me should be saying sorry Oro…I was having a dig at some commenters here on Broadsheet who like to interfere in democratic processes…trouble is…my comments just get deleted immediately…a few people seem to have the moderators ear…

          5. Nigel

Bloody hell, which Broadsheet commenters have interfered in democratic processes? Name names!

          6. bisted

…don’t worry Nigel, not you…you wouldn’t know democracy if it fell on you but at least you don’t whinge…well…not to the mods anyway…

          7. Nigel

Well, you are the guy who seems to think that disliking a democratic outcome is anti-democratic, so…

  2. Gabby

Watching Nigerl Farage on youtube I have two emotions: envious admiration for his talented debating style, and fear of the nationalist hubris that his brillliant speechmaking can stimulate. Enoch Powell, a well educated and reflective man, in his time evinced similar emotional reactions.

    1. Charger Salmons

      Irish nationalism good.
      British nationalism bad.
The reality, as Boris’s big election win proves, is that people vote for politicians who are patriotic because they’re proud of their country.
Not ashamed of it as Labour appears to be.

      1. Brother Barnabas

given the damage that english (rather than british) nationalism has done around the world over a long, long time, that’s fairly understandable

      2. Nigel

Always interesting how much of your style of patriotism expresses itself through boasting about how diffrent parts of the UK hate other parts of the UK.

      3. Charger Salmons

It’s good to see Chump’s Corner celebrating their negative test result.
Just a shame it was an IQ Test …

        Heh,heh,heh.

  3. GiggidyGoo

    Riddle me this.

At the moment, 12:44hrs, in the list of ‘Recent Comments” under Sunday papers, Brother Barnabas is listed as having three comments up, yet when you look at the actual comments, there is only one is there in total. And strangely, ‘Bottler’ isn’t listed under ‘Recent Comments’, yet two posts appear.

    1. Bitnboxy

It’s a glorious Sunday- at least here in Dublin yet here you are GiggidyPox driving yourself around the twist imagining all kinds of intrigue on an anonymous forum and trying to kick something off to distract you from, well, yourself and your reality.

What the fupp is wrong with you?

Get da silly out the door and some sun, ya twit.

      Sheesh!

      #boxykeepingitreal

      1. GiggidyGoo

And as sure as night follows day. ROFL.
Was it a bit too difficult for you to understand then?.
        ROFL.
You really need to take Mick MacCabes advice and get yourself seen to. Waiting in the hope that I post something is a little deranged don’t you think? . Sad, sad. ROFL!

        1. Bitnboxy

Well, GiggidyPox, you said it – one never has to wait too long before you post something deranged!

Oh, and quoting your ALIAS, bless.

Something is wrong with you. I don’t know whether it’s the ECHOPRAXIA or something else, but you are not a happy camper to put it mildly.

The temptation is to wind you up further with a guffaw or a ROFL, but you are so addled GiggidyPox, that Boxy kind of feels sorry for you.

Still, take my advice, go out and get some sun and oxygen to your brain.

          #Boxykeepingitreal

        2. GiggidyGoo

Go get some help. MCcabe has you well sussed. God gods sake go get some help before it starts spilling into your personal life (if it hasn’t already?). You’re in a bad place now.

          1. Bitnboxy

Uh oh – GiggidyPox is losing it again: thinks their ALIAS is a different person.

Clean-up on the Broadsheet aisle required!

Somebody please also call a *WAMBULANCE*!

Patient name: GiggidyGoo – known also as GiggidyPox and Mick McCabe.

Diagnosis: Putting the cray in crazy.

Prognosis: Not good, not good at all.

            #Boxykeepingitreal

          2. GiggidyGoo

ROFL – a hashtag. And capital letters. And a dose of echopraxia thrown in for good measure.
Things ain’t good in the Bpox head.

  4. Donald McCarthy

Rev. Richard Coles is curiously shy about his brother. You know, the one who while working as an undercover police officer, infiltrated an eco-activist group and impregnated one of the members.

      1. Donald McCarthy

Sorry Daisy, but when he was boasting about his hero undercover brother infiltrating a fanatical group in his autobiography he showed no reticence. When it became clear his 32 year old married brother had been sexually predating a vulnerable teenager (see her talk about it on You-Tube) while claiming to be 24 and armed with a fake identity, passport, van, flat and most importantly, immunity, the good reverend, an otherwise loquacious talking head went all shy.

  5. Johnny

Leo’s analogy is poor, for me Davy’s wide boy tactics in buying this ‘scratch and dent ‘ (Bad) paper, off a non irish -maple 10-borrower is fair game for off shore vultures.
    céad míle fáilte.

    1. Johnny

-more happy engage on this, its early Sunday sunny, coffee but can on either the bond trade or after,I think it’s a nothing story,Briian-x ceo-joined Davy’s late 80’s/early 90’s was due retire, like the ‘sheets music critic:)

      1. millie bobby brownie

Jesus, you’re even more passive aggressive than my mother.

An impressive (if slightly worrying) feat.

        1. Johnny

..and your more persistent that most,it’s endearing if slightly worrying, would you like discuss the trade on the bonds or are you just looking for some attention ?

  6. Johnny

    -non paywall.
Let’s say leaking classified gov papers is a 8-the trade/deal over the bonds is a 1,this is the problem….for the EU and now the irish govt, not the sleazy deal.

‘The move comes after the Irish central bank said this week Davy provided “misleading details” during a probe into a deal involving 16 staff, including some of its top executives. The case involved a consortium of employees buying bonds from a client in a personal capacity, the central bank said, without the customer knowing they were the buyers.‘

    1. GiggidyGoo

Kinda puts into the limelight that ‘xxxxx is regulated by the Central Bank Of Ireland.’ phrase used by these institutions as cover for what they’re at. Maybe it’s about time the Central Bank was investigated.

      1. Johnny

        -CB statement-EU not irish laws.

‘On 1 March 2021, the Central Bank of Ireland (the Central Bank) reprimanded and fined J&E Davy (Davy) €4,130,000 in respect of four breaches of the European Communities (Markets in Financial Instruments) Regulations 2007 (the MiFID Regulations) that occurred over different intervals between July 2014 and May 2016.’

        -summary and overview non-paywall.

        https://www.centralbank.ie/news/article/press-release-enforcement-action-davy-fined-4-130-000-and-reprimanded-by-central-bank-of-ireland-for-regulatory-breaches-arising-from-personal-account-dealing-02-march-2021

Note -The Central Bank confirmed that the investigation is now closed, the client is very financially sophistication, needed sell something quick, got a price accepted it,not unusual to know nothing about buyer, yeah Davy’s should have probably disclosed it,but it shows the distain they have for him in doing this,he’s just not from around here….

  7. Papi

Go on charger, even if it snaps your fingers in half, say congratulations to Janet.
I dare you to pretend to be a human for once, I was going to say it won’t kill you, but there’s always hope.

  8. Donald McCarthy

Sorry Daisy, but when he was boasting about his hero undercover brother infiltrating a fanatical group in his autobiography he showed no reticence.
