Looking forwards to the various rants over this one… come on peeps entertain me with statistical/link battles!!!

    1. K.Cavan

Ah now, you don’t really want any of those old facts’n’figures do you? It’s a slippery slope, you start with the oul statistics & before you know it, Science, yes, Science starts to raise it’s ugly head. Science, as yis all know, can only too easily lead you to conclusions that are different from those expressed by RTE. Can’t be having it.

it’s right there in the article linked:

“Beech Park Nursing Home outside Kildare town is still battling the outbreak of infections declared on January 16th that infected many of its residents and staff.”

    *january 16*

      1. Brother Barnabas

no doubt you’ll get them – hopefully a few YouTube rants and some misrepresented academic papers too

is the broadsheet position now that vaccines cause deaths? fine* if so but a clarifying statement would be appreciated.

(* fine as in utterly fupping stupid, reckless, irresponsible etc and without any basis whatsoever)

Dr Wheelock appears to be the deBrun of Yorkshire. Plus he has a book to sell. This antivax malarkey is great publicity altogether. Cynical maybe but good business.

      1. K.Cavan

You’re right, of course, people selling books can’t be allowed get in the way of people selling vaccines. Right? You know it!

Aul wans dying from/with/adjacent to Covid was okay for the antimask anti lockdown brigade because they were old and had lived enough to die without it being a big deal, so what’s their problem with the vaccine doing the job instead?

      1. E'Matty

You should get out of your house and enjoy the sunshine and other humans today daisy. It just might relieve you of some of that spite and bitterness you’ve built up so well this past year. Hugs, kisses, laughter and friends with a few beers and a barbecue in the sun. Its like an antidote for the misery you seem to suffer from. Give it a go.

    3. Brother Barnabas

actually scratch that – residents of this nursing home were not vaccinated because the home wasnt Covid19 free for 28 days, which is a HSE precondition

so this tool is straight up lying – and BS is facilitating

gone to poo, bodger. good luck.

      1. K.Cavan

Finally, someone who actually works in that care home. Tell us what actually happened, a series of bizarre gardening accidents? They were old anyway? A piece of loose carpet on the stairs? It’s all Des Kelly’s fault?

    4. K.Cavan

You’re right, nobody died, absolutely nobody. “Good Old Common Sense” proved that vaccines can’t kill people, they were already dead, they’re still alive, it wasn’t the vaccine, show me the bodies, I must thrust my fingers into their wounds, see wounds! They died from wounds! Gas!

Are you arguing with a muppet? Is the muppet on your right hand talking to you while you type with your left? Shouldn’t you type both sides of the conversation, for clarity?

Oh sick burn, buddy. Do you wanna go high five your mates? That’s what my 7 year old does when she makes the same joke.

    1. Lush

      Yep Millie.
It’s like the papers comments of a morning.
I am checking in on BS less and less; it’s all so predictable and wearing.

      1. millie bobby brownie

Yeah, it’s a pity. I said that I would engage this year only with the posts and comments which entertain or interest me. I’m trying for less negativity – with mixed results of course.

But the tone of the posts, especially lately, are making it increasingly difficult. And it’s so disappointing, because I love this site, I really do. And I have a lot of time and respect for so many of the commenters and contributors, even the ones I disagree with more often than not, but it’s becoming harder to do that, I feel.

    1. K.Cavan

Of course, before you know it, there’ll be all sorts “exploiting” stuff, everywhere, constantly. People exploiting facts is the biggest problem the world faces. If this keeps up, the Far Up & the Far Down will be exploiting stuff, then where will we be?Nowhere in the region of Common Sense, where decent civil servants roam, that’s for sure.

Sad to see such non scientific anti-vax nonsense being promoted on Broadsheet.

Unfortunately some vaccinated and aged people will die for various reasons other than being vaccinated, but as major scientifically proven and verifiable research by the UK and Israel clearly demonstrates, vaccination has saved numerous old folks lives from dying of Covid.
Some balanced ethical editorial control is needed during a global pandemic, come on Broadsheet please stop promoting harmful nonsense.
What next, a Jehovah’s witnesses article decrying life saving blood transfusions?

    1. K.Cavan

Correct! Of course some people are going to die from the effects of the vaccine but it’s not like those people died from the effects of the vaccine. I’m sure that the “Scientifically Proven & Verifiable Research” proved beyond reasonable doubt that loads of old people that got the vaccine would’ve definitely, surely died had they not been given the life-saving jabs. Probably. For sure.

  5. Dell

Was that not the nursing home that had a really big outbreak of covid a month or so ago? Do you check any of these things before you run to throw them up here or have you any self respect or respect for the families who lost people Bodger?
