This morning.
Minister for the Environment and Minister for Transport Eamon Ryan entering Government Buildings for a Cabinet meeting where he presented plans to legally commit the state to a 51% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions in an updated version of the Climate Action Bill.
Meanwhile….
She’s says she believes the @greenparty_ie will haemorrhage a lot of members because of the failure of @EamonRyan to deliver

If 51% in 10 years is a failure….
Then…
What target would be considered “well done” or “good job” ?
Answers on a recycled postcard only please….
Or by comment reply :)
Seems to be because it doesn’t ban fracked gas.
Cheers Nigel.
Not a fan of the ol’ frackin’ myself. Down with that sorta thing!
Indeed.
aw, look at you two gettin along :)
“Or by comment reply :)” which will be backed up on severs for ever and ever likely doing more damage than an recyclable postcard….. the internet will doom us all… in so many ways
I’ll do my best theatrical evil laugh…. when I’m out of ear shot of everyone :)
…and we’ll fail to meet those targets like all the other (modest) targets we set for ourselves.
Well, if the Greens get wiped out because they managed to acheive highly ambitious emissions targets, that will only leave people in charge who don’t care about acheiving them. I guess there’s an alternative to that happening, but nobody seems interested.
Not bad when you consider all the work on what is one of the most important issues facing the world is being left to one small party trying to work with a centre-right mob who ostentatiously don’t want to give a damn. The Green Party is, of course, going to be punished horribly for acheiving this extremely ambitious and legally binding target, and we will be left with a centre right mob rewarded for ostentatiously not wanting to give a damn. Weird how that works.
+1
Agreement…
Us two…
What the…
Break out the Champagne! :)
Yes, this is nice.
We’ll need a room if this keeps going! :)
The green party should be specifying what shade of green they think they are from here on out.
They always seem to me to be on the yellow side, or the blue side – not seeing too much actual green, certainly in the higher echelons.
Choose your temples well good people, and your sages even more carefully.
I believe it’s sort of a cowardly yellow/green
Bald men all, fighting over the imaginary comb promising to deliver us from extinction. No such comb exists as its existence would demand a suspension of the immutable laws of observable reality. So extinction it is, and very soon. Yeah, it’s annoying, but what can you do?
Well done Brid. Just like everyone on the left. Moan about everything and do nothing. Just moan to get reelected in opposition. God forbid you would have to make decisions if you get into power. No, don’t want that. Couldn’t handle it. Look at the record of Dublin City Council when run by the left. How many houses have you built? Keep hurling from the ditch.
