For a newspaper that’s dated April 3rd I’m surprised the weekly Irish World led on an old story that will have whiskers on it by Saturday.
I know the editor Bernard Purcell is a regular on the BS paper review but why splash on a non-story that first appeared in another newspaper last week ?
Unless it’s just another lazy excuse for some Anglophobia.

“A meeting of the Cabinet sub-committee on Covid-19, attended by the leaders of the Coalition parties – Taoiseach Micheál Martin, Tánaiste Leo Varadkar and Eamon Ryan of the Greens – and some other senior Ministers, took place on Monday night. Sources described the updates given to committee members from health officials as “grim”.”

Other than the Leaky Mac Leakface vibe going on – I can sort of understand why coalition leaders have a meeting to trash a few things out before announcements, but the idea of the sub-committee with “some other senior Ministers” does annoy me. The cabinet is meant to have collective responsibility, and I think this goes against that, and smack a little of the poo-storm going into and through the 2008 crisis. Perhaps, even contributing to the mixed messaging and constant leaking etc?

Also, putting the “coal” in the “coalition”… anyone???

the location of cannabis retail, cultivation and manufacturing is heavily regulated, with clear ‘green zones’ in most areas, location’s that are proposed for these activities are in compliance or ‘as of right’,regarding local planning,it does not always indicate/confirm buy in,there only real recourse is to vote out elected reps.

this is just shambolic, its one the reasons you have nowhere live anymore in Ireland.

the government you elect is the government you deserve.

    of course you would.

“Ms Martin told the appeals board: “I would like to add my voice and my support to the residents’ groups who are making a submission in relation to this development with similar concerns and to urge An Bord Pleanála to give due weight to the issues that have been raised.”
