Further to the Dubs dawn ‘workout of hate’ shenanigans

former GAA president, Ireland South MEP Séan Kelly, has said that some form of sanction will have to be imposed on the Dublin players involved in the training session on Wednesday which broke Covid restrictions.

“If it is true it is surprising and very disappointing – especially coming from the six in a row Dubs,” he told Newstalk Breakfast. Such a successful team had a responsibility to lead by example, he added.

“Every club and every county in the country are probably frustrated they can’t get back out on the field but there is a road map there. The GAA have outlined the guidelines and everyone will have to stick by them.” Mr Kelly said that the GAA would have to react “strongly” to this breaking of restrictions as there was a need to be consistent in the way rules were applied.

How much more perverse can this get?
    Let’s stop people working.
Let’s stop healthy kids from going to school.
    Let’s stop people praying.
Let’s stop healthy people in the best condition of their lives from training.
    Stay Safe!

there’s no point posturing over this while every small building site in the country is open. Those same lads could be working on the building site across the road from my house, which hasn’t ceased for a day in the last 6 months, and no one would say a word. The media are just looking for high profile people to scold.

There have been thousands of elite level rugby/soccer /other sports play during the last year and zero evidence of any on field covid transmission. Absolutely no danger to themselves or anyone else what these lads did but I’m sure they will be hammered for it anyway…

All elite-level sports had multiple tests during training and coming up to a game, and if tested positive weren’t allowed to travel/play. This gave a high degree of certainty that nobody on the pitch had Covid in the first place – so no transmission.

They didn’t transmit Covid because they nobody had Covid play NOT because you can’t transmit Covid on a playing pitch.

LOL just saw ReproBertis post about a match being cancelled.

I was thinking more of John O’Grady, the dentist, and the loss of his two fingers.

    Dirtbags .

They let themselves down, they let their club down, their county, and I dare say the country.

        State of me?
State of them. Clearly think they are exceptional, arguably worse than golfgate given the clear intent and that it wasn’t just contrary to guideline but to laws.
You should let your obsession cloud your judgement.

No wonder the numbers are so bad around here

I think they were extremely foolish to train when they were clearly instructed not to.
I also think calling them dirtbags says more about you than it does about them.
Don’t let your bias cloud your judgement.

Any news on Millie Vanilli Disappeari?

Why can’t they go outside for sport for God sake get a grip and you can’t go fishing on your own ,or buy shoes who comes up with these rules

  6. Redundant Proofreaders Society

With this story, the other one of Bray possibly leaving Wicklow, and the notion of swathes of people leaving the capital to buy up country houses, the media languished in an entire day of Dub-bashing yesterday.
