Behold: the 1980 Lancia Rally 037 – a high-performance, mid-engined successor to the Delta S4 developed by Pininfarina, Abarth, and Dallara for Group B racing, it would be the last rear wheeled car to win the World Rally Championship.
037s are extremely rare and this vehicle is the original factory prototype vehicle, making it something of an icon.
Comprehesively restored having already gone under the hammer for €355,000 in 2016, the car returns to auction in Milan this June where it will no doubt be yours for considerably more.

Picture the scene in 1980:
Hey Luigi, the headlamps for our new Rally have arrived – but they’re too big.
Well you’ll just have to squeezea them in a somehow.
if you have 20 mins to burn, this is the crazy story behind Lancia’s 037’s amazing world rally championship victory against the seemingly unbeatable 4WD monster Audi Quattro…..all sorts of drama and shennanigans, David vs Goliath stuff

That was 20 mins well spent, thanks for posting :)

Not so much a Carroll Shelby…
but more of a Mary Shelley…
