Not now, lads.

will harry be allowed to attend ?????
Will all his kids, not just the 4 he had with yer wan, be allowed to attend?
Shame he’s missed out on his letter from the Queen… Awks for funeral all the same.
He was 99, hardly a tragedy. He married his second cousin. The whole royalty thing belongs in kids fairytales. Anyone taking royalty seriously in 2021 needs to have a good chat with themselves.
Or Oprah :)
Philip was a third cousin of Elizabeth and a nephew of the King of Greece.
Jedward need to outsource their Twit-thingy. Pair of gob—-s
RIP Prince Philip.
He will be missed by those that loved him and there are plenty of those.
Did he die of or with covid?
or
Did he die with or from the vaccine?
These are the questions of our times…
The Guardian making a show of themselves with a far too respectful sombre grey splash on their website:
https://www.theguardian.com/uk
if memory serves, they are a british paper?
What is “far too respectful?”
Why would a British paper not be respectful?
They cast themselves as anit-royalist yet now come out as lickspittles, even the Beeb’s website didn’t bother with the gloomy grey or black, he’s just another dead celeb.
I think it is only the independent who are anti-royalist
The Guardian usually make a show of themselves in every issue, bunch of immature, badly-educated, rich kids, playing at ”a career in journalism”. Half their articles are freebies by ”Activists” or sponsored by Bill & Melinda Gates. The No.1 newspaper of choice at the BBC & 20th most popular national newspaper in the UK, out of 20. I used to read it back in the good old Gruniad days but everyone in there now seems to think they live in either the USA or Nazi Germany.
Now he can fulfill his wish and be reincarnated as a virus to kill us all. Cue the parade of royal botty smoochers.
Why is Diana trending on Twitter? I think we know why.
Greeter at the door of Hell?
RIP to my favourite racist aul bastard. Ye had a good run of it, sir.
Philomena Clunk said he’s probably already told Jesus he “looks like a bloody Arab”.
oh dear I laughed
Boom!
https://waterfordwhispersnews.com/2021/04/09/greek-immigrant-who-lived-off-welfare-dies-in-england/
I had such a silly laugh to myself about that!
Waterford whispers should sort out the mix of stories and ads under their news stories. Its hard to tell which ones are WWN stories and which are clickbait…..
I hope this didn’t catch the media unawares, sudden deaths usually do
Cut down in his prime
what ever happened to not speaking I’ll of the dead, well at least till he’s in the ground
* ill
Don’t think it applies to the Nosferatu class…
Plant a garlic patch on the grave just to be sure, is what I say…
that only applies to people, j. he was a lizard, so fill your boots i guess.
That’ll take about a month if the Queen Mum is anything to go by.
It’s mad how we can have such different traditions when it comes to funerals / burials. Here the body is in the ground nearly before it gets cold (before the devil knows you’re dead and all that) but over in the UK it usually takes weeks for the burial to take place.
And you have to get an invite, no turning up on the day with the rest of the town.
I wonder will the afters be soup and a sangwitch or a full 3 course meal?
Call for Nordie riots to be postponed as a mark of respect (not another WW headline, honest!)

Thought and prayers with Charger at this difficult time
Hehehehehe
he’s down to his union jack boxers and stuffing down his third tesco value club pork pie as we speak, poor thing.
Ha!
Was he the last one left off that Mayo team?
hahahah
if he was on it, they deserved to be cursed…
Only 15 at a funeral? Or has the UK upped that limit?
The Greek flag flying at half-mast on our favourite island of Paxos just off the coast of Corfu where the Duke was born.

Will he be buried in his favourite SS uniform?
People know he fought in a war against Nazis, no?
This is Broadsheet old chap.
Most people on here can’t even remember their own postcode never mind know any history.
postcode? the royal mail doesn’t deliver here. back to your pork pies, fatty.
http://www.eircode.ie ‘ Eircode is Ireland’s smart Postcode System ‘
Obviously the word smart is too difficult for you to understand.
I’m beginning to think you occupy the same part of the pond as Nappy.
In fairness, the history knowledge on this site is excellent, as evident in even the most subtle of references. The Treaty era and Civil War can be prone to bias, but that’s to be expected with highly divisive events.
As we are unfortunately exposed to UK tabloids, it’s shocking how many Brits are unaware of the history and lineage of their own Royal family, and the despicable antics and war crimes of their armies and politicians under Royal command.
And another win! It’s like he’s impaling himself on the hook these days, what sport!
Marvelous.
Says Charger who, yesterday, was telling us that Ireland was a colony of britain at one stage (it never was) – not so well up on his old history is our Mitty.
Al least we may get a few hours Chargerless over the coming days as he gets engrossed in the english tv loops.
And postcode and eircode are the same word, silly billy! He’s wrong so much these days it’s getting embarrassing. Hilarious, but embarrassing.
Keep it up, old sport!
Although, in fairness, dementia is a serious thing.
So did Churchill. Doesn’t mean he wasn’t a massive racist.
Perhaps you should check out the photos from his sister’s funeral? It should be noted that three of his sister’s married prominent Nazis. There’s also rather charming photos of Lizzie as a child giving the auld Sieg Heil. https://time.com/3963542/queen-elizabeth-nazi-salute/?amp=true
Then there’s Edward VII and his little tour of Nazi Germany AFTER his abdication.
The main problem is that the average person doesn’t understand Nazism beyond some Hollywood created cartoon version. The eugenics based ideology of the Nazis was actually taken from the British ruling class of the early part of the last Century. The British Royals were very positive about Hitler for many years.
“In the event that I am reincarnated, I would like to return as a deadly virus, to contribute something to solving overpopulation.” Prince Philip, 1988. Lovely chap.
Not unlike Éamon de Valera, up with the lark and straight out of the door without even a cup of tae so he could be the first person into the German Embassy to sign Herr Hitler’s Book of Condolences.
The day Ireland quietly died of shame and a sordid snub to all those thousands of brave Paddies who joined the fight against the Nazis.
Morto.
‘…I’d like to return as a deadly virus’…isn’t that what you ratlickers have been advocating here Mattie?
Philip wasn’t a British Royal until after the war.
The war he fought in, against the Nazis.
@Charger. There’s seems to be some confusion on your part. You appear to believe I have some regard for Dev, the man who played a pivotal role in this country swapping British oppression for RCC oppression?
Poor charger whatabouting in his grief for his own racist. Delightful to see.
Heh heh heh
On your knees ?
Isn’t that rather painful although I guess you’re used to the position by now …
He may have been a Prince, but he was King of the Clangers!
RIP that fella, he had a good innings
Indeed.
He was twice President of the MCC and had a hands-on role in changing the game for the better.
http://www.lords.org/lords/news-stories/hrh-duke-of-edinburgh,-1921-2021
Don’t take any ill will from what I said, none intended.
He provided many a chuckle with his gaffs. Wouldn’t really be any the wiser about him otherwise.
No ill will taken Clampers old sport.
It’s a common mistake to assume that every British person is a Royalist.
We’re not.
But they do a lot of good in their own way – the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Scheme has been going for more than half a century and it has helped many underprivileged kids in more than 130 countries providing life goals and exercises outside the academic world to help them develop.
Not a bad legacy.
http://www.dofe.org
a good innings indeed, clamps. it’s widely known though, that reptiles live a very long time – up to 150 years in some cases.
Is the flag at half mast outside YFG headquarters too?
ah the kids are resilient Daisy, made of rubber they are
it’s the likes of Neale Richmond I’d be thinking of at this terrible time, someone throw him a quick chitter wouldya
anyway the sun is shining, I’m off out for an ice cream, maybe an oul 99
have a great weekend!
You too.
Stay Golden!
just the one more to go so
wonder what happened to the poor woman he smashed in his Range Rover a couple of years back?
Rather amusingly she was banned from driving for other unconnected motoring incidents …

More upsetting that poor auld DMX popped his clogs today too.
Sad to see plently of them on here with bile regarding the British
Sad thing is Ireland will never be United because of the pure hatred in the hearts of many
As a proud Irishman half Catholic half Protestant I salute you sir and wish your family my condolences
I never confuse my protestantism with Britishness
david has returned to us in the form of Gordon, J!
Wool brute Tanya!
thought he was jewish
Coats of many colours has david.
very good !
Converted my Protestant heritage to atheism and never looked back….
same, in fairness it wasn’t a big leap :)
I reckon anyone who puts himself in the front line of the fight against fascists – like, real and armed ones – is a pretty good egg in my book.
Anyone who takes delight in the death of a 99-year-old man is just a silly.
As much of a silly as someone crowing day in, day out, day in, day out about vaccination numbers?
That much?
Cos that’s a lot. A lot lot.
@charger – I don’t see anyone taking delight but I do see people keeping perspective. A 99yo person I have no connection with dying is not relevant to my life. People are brainwashed into thinking Philip Battenberg was their superior and needs to be mourned by those who didn’t know him. It is time to grow up.
It’s so pleasant when somone is nice and respectful on the death of an old man . A man that supported his wife for over 70 years …Rest in Peace , Prince Philip.
Sure charger.
I have to laugh at you Charger, the way you punctuate differently to pretend you are someone else!!
Once the wig and dress go on, he IS Kate, in his own mind.
An image to chill the soul right there.
Yep, the idea that the British Royal family was the only one with a bit of a ken for dictators & a blood-soaked history seems to be abroad, in Ireland.
Gordon
For some maybe not necessarily a british thing,
But more the old divine rite to rule, now give me all your stuff or else, type thing…
An overly simplistic view I know,
but sometimes we can’t see the good for the thieves…
He was quite a likeable ole rogue in The Crown. RIP Phil.
Did you think so Lilly?
Certainly as his younger self there was an inference he visited prossies which could explain Andrew’s deviance
