Checking Out

Thus evening.

The “Dubai Two” leaving the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Santry, Dublin. Niamh Mulreany (25) and Kirstie McGrath (30) were briefily detained in Mountjoy Prison when they refused to quarantine after returning to Ireland from Dubai on April 2.

Meanwhile…

Minister for Health Stephen Donnelly has confirmed that the Department of Health has paused taking bookings at mandatory quarantine hotels.

Mr Donnelly said it was due to a problem with ‘walk-ins’ or people who simply turn up rather than having booked online before departure.

Speaking on RTÉ’s Six One News, he said that on a precautionary basis, his department has paused bookings to ensure there is capacity.

How much longer are Donnelly and Reid going to keep up this charade? Or, more to the point, how much longer are they going to be in situ?

About as long as it takes to boil an egg, one would hope. Reid will go at the first wiff of an inquiry, that’s if one can be manifested. Donnelly, will go from pan to fire when his usefulness expires. In betting terms a rank outsider.

The most robust quarantine system in Europe he said.

That’s why it’s taking so long he said.

    What a dope.

Indeed not.. I merely noticed a definite professional air exuded.. I just wonder who it was they really went to see in Dubai..

Indeed. By all the accounts in the media no cosmetic procedure took place. It’s reasonable, and understandable, to wonder what their sojourn was really all about.

Indeed.. the sense of entitlement and of being above the law.. the ready access to a legal team, the seeming familiarity with a night in the joy.. and all on social welfare.. does make one wonder..
