Good to see the ESL failing. I hope the UCL goes back to being interesting but I can’t see that happening.
RidersOnTheStorm
BREAKING: Arsenal have decided to not participate in the European Super League. They are starting their own breakaway league with just themselves.
The bookies currently have them as second favourites to win it.

Boris can’t put a foot wrong at the moment.
Already riding high on the crest of a wave with his vaccine roll-out he destroys the Super League with one of his knee-high sliding tackles.
At lunchtime yesterday Bozza told the FA and Premier League he’d drop a ‘ legislative bomb ‘ in the path of the ESL.
His intervention meant it all over before the evening kick-off at Stamford Bridge having lasted about as long as an Irish world cup qualifying campaign.

And, of course, he was able to make those threats because the UK is no longer part of the EU.
Brexit comes to the rescue of European football.
Take that Napoleon and Rosa Klebb.

much as I’m delighted to see it fail I reckon this is just a temporary pause
and I’m not buying it was because of fan protests or player revolts or that clown of a PM….in the end it will be because UEFA offered them a tankerload of extra cash to feed on
the only way I can see it being solved for the common good is if these clubs are somehow mutualised
follow the money

I didn’t expect it to fall apart so quickly, but it is good. Now the billionaire owners will have to pay another think tank to get the next plan together. I think they thought they could just bypass the fans on this one.

Charger’s Jab Jibber-Jabber™
Loyal Jibber-Jabber readers will recall that there was expected to be a slowdown in UK vaccines this month due to supply problems and the decision to restrict the AZ to over 30s.
But it hasn’t happened.
In the last week 3.2 million doses have been administered, which means the UK continues to vaccinate more of its population every day than any other large European country.
More than three quarters of those are second doses(15% of the population ), but the pace of first doses (49.6% of pop.) is likely to recover with bookings now open to the 45-49 age group.
More importantly support for vaccines remains high.
94% of people have either had a dose already or will accept it when offered, including 88% of the under-30s – suggesting the AZ concerns have not turned many people away from getting jabbed.
Where Blighty leads the rest of Europe follows.

On the other hand according to the Indo …
” The political target to have 82pc of the adult population with at least one dose of Covid-19 vaccine by the end of June looks set to now stretch well into July.
Yesterday, HSE officials said they were unable to say if it will meet the target as it faced yet another setback in AstraZeneca vaccine supply deliveries which will affect the speed of the roll-out of the jab to people aged 65-69. ”
Quelle surprise …

New data just published shows the share of people with at least 1 vaccine dose.
Ireland is below the EU average and even below that of France where Napoleon is having a torrid time.
Here are some of the countries and their figures.

Tehan and the rest of the Aussie Tories are so Anglophile, they would probably give the British Tories everything they asked for. Truss and Co. don’t even realise that.

I take it you’re not a regular follower of current affairs in that part of the world and the ongoing difficulties Australia and China are having since they signed a FTA eight years ago.
This is understandable given your history of posting …
Delighted at Gerry Hogan’s appointment to the Supreme Court. A great choice!
