We Have Our Ways

Tanaiste Leo Varadkar at Dublin castle yesterday

This morning.

Dermot & Dave show on Today FM.

Tanaiste Leo Varadkar said:

“We expect there may be 10 to 15 per cent of people who will refuse the vaccine and just don’t want it, although, they may change their minds if the ability to travel and attend mass events is linked to it

“…What we really need for this to work fully is to get about 80 per cent of people vaccinated, that’s where you start to hit herd immunity, where the virus just doesn’t have anywhere to go.”

Isn’t that exactly what you are trying to do on here Giggidy?!

      Physician heal thyself.

You’ve got a bad case of Leopraxia!

      Chortle!

So Leo’s plan is to encourage everyone to get the jab by issuing threats to deny their personal liberty? Well FU and the horse you rode in on Varadkar. You should have tried dangling a carrot. I’m not even actually certain you possess a stick at all.

Varadkar: “One thing I’m a little more worried about than hesitancy is vaccine apathy. They found in some countries, like Israel was one, is that there’s a lot of people who aren’t afraid of getting the vaccine – they just don’t really get around to it.”

This is a false narrative. The Israeli state has been putting Israeli citizens under extreme pressure to conform to taking the vaccine. It’s not that those who haven’t yet complied are too casual and just can’t be bothered – they’re very much resisting the pressure being put on them to do so.. As Gilad Atzmon wrote in this post from late Feb:

“Within two months of intensive inoculation with the Pfizer vaccine, Israel managed to double the number of deaths it accumulated in the prior ten months of the pandemic..I cannot turn a blind eye to the undeniable fact that rapid mass vaccination in Israel correlates with a radical shift in the symptoms of Covid-19 to the point that it appears as a ‘new disease all together.’”.

It’s completely understandable that there’s a percentage of Israelis who have decided not to take the experimental vaccine. And there’s no space for casual ‘vaccine apathy’ in Israeli society when it comes to Covid.

It sounds like a phrase being cynically used by Varadkar to pressurise and breed resentment towards those who decide against taking the vaccine

I’m tired of the anti-mask, scamdemic, anti-vaccine silliness now.

Ye can all stop. Move on to shouting about how you know climate change is a scam.

I wish they’d stop asking him stuff. he’ll never say “I don’t have an answer. those decisions are up to those in charge” .. if he’s asked something, whether he knows the answer or not, he’ll give an answer believing he is all knowing. he’s a narcissist and egomaniac.
