    Omg Naomi Wolf LOL!!

She was critical of Edward Snowden

Anyways yes vaccinated people deserve more rights than those who are not. Otherwise its like letting someone with syphilis ride without protection

Human Rights are hierarchical. My right to life is more important than your limited movement

    1. Mr. T

If you have syphilis you are allowed to ride without protection.
Its up to the other person whether they want to risk it or not.

If I want to meet a vaccinated person in their home, or they in mine – we both know the risks. Why shouldnt we be allowed to?

I’m speaking of unvaccinated ..their movements have to be limited as we would be vectors. Once vaccinated of course lift restrictions

If you don’t tell the other person you have syphilis I’d honestly like to see you go to jail.

Quoting Naomi Wolf… the absolute state of this. She has been so discredited that she’s now a laughing stock. Broadsheet has truly gone down the rabbit hole.

Sorry Fluffy B, but that’s tosh. The tweeters past is not important to the point.

Not directing at you, but that’s my biggest annoyance on line. If someone has a position on an unrelated matter, should all other opinions should be disregarded?
It just quagmires discussion. We accuse those in the public sphere of ‘whataboutery’ (hate that term), but its worse in the comment sections I think.

If we are now a segregated society of lawfully unequal persons (at least before we were officially all the same), that’s an important matter I believe.

PS – keep up the diaries. Always a decent read!

      Your right to life Fluffy?

I thought this was about protecting old and vulnerable people? Which is mostly done now eh?

      What a joke

this is not a perfect analogy. It assumes unvaccinated people are carriers of Covid. It’s more like making it an offence not to use a condom. Even that is not perfect, as it does not allow for the vagaries of vaccine roll out or of the much reduced risk to a vaccinated person. It probably needs no analogy at all. If we assume there is any efficacy in the vaccine at all, why cant a vaccinated person meet an unvaccinated person? This is a bs law

  2. Mr. T

Also does the act define the definition of a vaccinated person?
    How many doses needed?

What if I have my MMRs?

    1. alickdouglas

Yes it has 4 definitions, one for each of the vaccines currently licensed by EMA. And they have to be administered by HSE. If you google the SI number you can get the full pdf.

i know I’m being lazy by not downloading it and getting the answer myself.
But if only HSE administered vaccines are approved does that mean people vaccinated in other countries are not considered vaccinated for the purpose of this statutory instrument.

        edit

i just checked and only HSE administered vaccines with limitations on dose spacing/ timing are acceptable. so this legislation only provides very few people with any additional liberties or rights

        1. alickdouglas

I’m assuming (!) that all vaccines administered in Ireland fall under that banner? So if you are vaccinated in Ireland (in compliance with the subclauses) you have your ‘freedom’ (?). If you are vaccinated by foreigners however you can forget about it…

      3. SB

What about the vaccinations Pfizer are going to do for their own staff in Ireland?

But anyway, what’s the point of getting vaccinated unless it brings you more freedom?

  3. Kiora

Yes next they should round up all the unvaccinated and move them out of town, maybe build a big wall of students hubs to keep them outta the pale. Imagine people not wanting to try out this super new fool proof vaccine, that our fantastic, trustworthy, capable government insists is essential!

“every human rights law” – sounds like the opinion of a legal expert. There are so many being violated that she can’t even name one. I’d love to hear the explanation of house this violates laws against child labour and slavery for example.
