What A Beautiful Horizon

at

There has been “no sign” of coronavirus infection among 5,000 unvaccinated people who took part in an indoor trial concert last month in Barcelona

This afternoon.

Barcelona, Spain.

Ahead of the gig everyone underwent mass screening and antigen tests. They were tested again 15 days later and only six people were found to have Covid-19.

“We are certain that in four of these six cases, transmission did not take place during the concert,” Josep Maria Llibre, a specialist in infectious diseases said.

It left us with 2 highly possible transmissions due to the concert then. Enough to lock everything down!

All masked throughout and tested for Covid on the way in.

Fair play. Reminds me of rave masks in the 90s

Has anyone here had a major issue with having to take a quick turnaround test to go to an event or take a flight?

Especially if it’s only a pinprick or saliva test.

It’s an app on your phone that stops you from going to the shops, gym or the pub (sniff) that I think people have an issue with Cian. Like in China or Israel.

Or even worse, one that requires you or your kids to take a medical procedure you don’t want to.

These tests are probably here for the next while – as long as they’re not tied into some big database that is used to control your movement – it’ll be grand (I hope)

Ye see, I’m trying to meet Cian and similar minded folks halfway.

In reality, I’d rather be repeatedly kicked in the testicles by an inebriated mountain goat than attend a gig like that.

          No craic at all.

But if it gets shows back – I’m up for it ;)

Hmmm… do you want to have to take a pinprick test before you enter each and every shop/restaurant/pub each and every day??

Or have some way to verify that you either are vaccinated or had had a valid negative test in the last x hours/days allowing you to get on with your life as normal?

          Pinpricks

I want to make it as annoying as possible for the people implementing it

That’s the Irish secret weakness – complacency.

“Ah sure go wan in – yer grand FFS”

If someone has to physically do it – we’ll forget about it in a week :)

“verify that you either are vaccinated or had had a valid negative test in the last x hours/days allowing you to get on with your life as normal”

          You can’t be serious.

          either you’re someone
          a) who has been heavily propagandised to consider that situation as ‘life as normal’
or b) who’s objective it is to promote the government line on online forums
          or both I suppose

About 150 secondary kids had a party in a town near us, covid is now ripping through them and their schoolmates. I learned this from a sngle mother undergoing cancer treatment who now has to isolate from her kid who wasn’t at any party. So stick it up your jacksies.

    1. Des

Eh OK. Very scientific. Covid ‘ripping’ through! ….some are infected you mean?
She does not need to isolate from her kid just use a home test – its not hard.
      You like drama I think.

      1. Nigel

I dislike drama, actually. Why do people have to be so bloody thick? I’ll print out your comment and send it to her in lieu of professional medical advice.

          “I dislike drama”
“Proceeds to write up a big dramatic & snarky comment about professional medical advice”

          Really makes you think

unless that home test is 100% reliable than it’s too high a risk for someone receiving chemo or radiation.
