Col, it refers to those who don’t wish to be masked, vaxxed or locked down and dates back to the 14th century where it is alleged the sick would dab their tongues on unwitting rodents to ward off the bubonic plague. Disgusting taste – apparently – but no blood clots reported.

Just somewhere between 75 and 200 million deaths… And, between 30 to 60 percent of the European population are believed to have perished.

I imagine a few oul masks for the Pneumonic plague wouldn’t have gone amiss…

Isn’t this in response to the fact that the rate of infection in Donegal is significantly higher than any other part of the country?

    But yes, police state. Boo.

Fun fact: In China (actual police state) you must walk through a body scanner like the ones in the airport and any bags you have must be put into an xray machine before you are allowed to enter their subway system. I was stopped and searched almost every time because I carry an inhalor with me.

    1. Cui Bono?

1 person in ICU and 12 others in hospital with covid out of a population of almost 160,000.

Numbers are down by over 50% compared with 2 weeks ago too but the fear mongering must go on regardless.

All for a virus with an average IFR 0.23% and only 0.05% for under 70s.

      Global hysteria.

India, and to some extends, Brazil, are third world countries, over-populated, and with very low standards of hygiene….You should compare likes with likes really…

          1. Micko

India were 118 in covid deaths per million globally last time I looked. So more people = more deaths.

India has 25,000 deaths a day in normal circumstances.

But yes, it is a terrible situation. Regardless.

Anyway we can help we should asap

There’s a few places we can make donations.

Boy oh boy. What I would do with your MASSIVE IQ.

I know, I could spend all day arguing with people less smart than me on the internet.

            Feeling smarter now? ;)

            Course you are…

          3. Micko

            Affect?

You’re so right. I am feeling smarter already ;)

Can tomorrow’s lesson be on the definition of irony?

There’s always an excuse. That lot are poor and dirty so they’re dying. Our lot are old so they’re dying. They’re going to die anyway, so open the pubs please.

          1. Cui Bono?

There’s no excuse to lockdown anyone – no one has that right, especially for a virus with an average IFR of only 0.23%.

It’s global hysteria which most of us went into together and we are only coming out of it one at a time. Some may never wake up to the reality.

          2. Micko

Shhhh Cui Bono. Less of the actual facts man!

This working from home on full pay stuff isn’t gonna last forever ye know.

Don’t blow it dude. We gotta make this one last as long as possible.

      1. Joe

        Global hysteria my butt !

Researchers in Imperial College London estimated 3.2 million people would have died by 4 May if not for measures such as closing businesses and telling people to stay at home.
That meant lockdown saved around 3.1 million lives, including 470,000 in the UK, 690,000 in France and 630,000 in Italy, the report in the journal Nature shows.

You can download the *.pdf, try for once just following the science rather than making nonsense bulldrop statements about “propaganda”

        1. Micko

          Ummm,

Is this the same imperial college that predicted the deaths, that were used to justify the lockdown in the first place?

Well of course they’re gonna say they’re right!’ They’re hardly gonna stick up their hands and say they over estimated it are they

          Jesus hahahahahaha!

          1. E'Matty

Ah, Imperial College sounds so very Official and “respectable” Joe simply believed. Why would someone like Joe question such an illustrious sounding organisation, let alone look at their well documented history of inaccurate virus predictions? Nah, only crazy conspiracy theorists question three letter organisations, Royal this or Imperial that. They’re totally official so can never be deceitful.

It’s not just Covid19 that Imperial College got so ridiculously wrong. They did the very same on SARS. Positively apocalyptic predictions. Wildly inaccurate. But, it was obviously the lockdowns, societal restrictions, mask wearing, social distancing etc that sorted that one right out too….

        2. Cui Bono?

They were very very very wrong.

Science isn’t about “following” one “estimate”, it’s about looking at the actual data and other studies too.

  2. Redundant Proofreaders Society

Why just Donegal? Let’s go for it by luring and mobilising ALL curtain-twitching community-watchers from their Facebook bitchin’ sessions into full-on snitch action.

Calling all Karens…your country needs you, we’re in the middle of a catastrophic pandemic, 129 people in hospital suffering from Pneumonia, that’s almost 130, how can our Frontline workers on the Frontline cope? If you spot a scumbag breaking into your elderly neighbour’s house, not wearing a mask, push those buttons, save a life.

  4. K. Cavan

The population of Europe at the time of the Bubonic Plague was about 60 million. It was a Bacterial disease, not a virus, although it’s possible that the ferocity of the infection might’ve sprung from the bacterium being infected with a virus.
