Dublin city Marathon 2015

You need your JAB.

This afternoon.

Running the Dublin marathon this year?

Dublin Marathon race director Jim Aughney sez:

“Vaccination is key. The greater number of vaccines we can get approved and get out there, that’s going to be key for us to try and organise an event.

“The one thing I suppose, the unknown for us, will be the spectators. Again the vaccine is going to be key for that, to get everybody vaccinated and if that is the case, we’re still hopeful that we can run an event.”

I find this interesting considering that compared to the rest of Europe for Irish races you haven’t needed a doctor’s very saying you won’t drop dead from a heart attack etc,

I’ve never come across this – what class of ultra-marathons do you be running in??

That is French law, you need a doctor’s cert to take part in any sport/race there.

Janet, I’ve done marathons in Berlin, Edinburgh and Dublin and have never been asked for a medical cert for any of them. A general declaration of my own health was all I needed.

maybe it’s the platform I book my races through, ASO challenges ?

A Irish lad I know who lives in Belgium has done the Dodentocht (Death March) a few times.

It’s 100K in total and is gruelling.

He said it’s torturous but a brilliant experience,

Although the last time he did it, he noticed that his hips were feeling funny. Like a “grinding sensation” he said. Didn’t think much of it and off he went…

He found out a while later that it turns out he need two new hips – he’s only a few years older than me.

He needs both hips replaced in his 40’s!

      Ouch…

Who could have guessed that taking part in something called a “Death March” would have a negative impact on your health?

          I know right? ;)

One lad died a few years back. He was right at the finish line too.

          Poor bloke.

I only ever jogged in the off-season to stay fit enough to play The Beautiful Game but lots of people get off on running & despite the fact that 20 mins of jogging is said to add 20 minutes to your lifespan, it’s a shame that every single thing that brought people joy in the Old Normal will be perverted & used to bully people into accepting experimental medical treatments that most neither need nor want. So it begins, where will it end? Nowhere good, nowhere any normal person will want to live.

Step 1: You can get the vaccine if you want.
Step 2: We suggest you get the vaccine.
Step 3: You will be rewarded if you get the vaccine.
Step 4: We insist you get the vaccine or your rights will be infringed.
Step 5: It’s against the law to be unvaccinated.
