Really miss Robert Fisk’s skilled, factual and insightful reporting right now regarding the flaming situation in Palestine and Israel.

Yes. Someone gave this link yesterday:

      https://duckduckgo.com/?q=norman+finkelstein+israel+palestine&t=ffab&atb=v109-1&df=m&ia=web

      which gives this:
However, as Norman G. Finkelstein sets out in this concise, paradigm-shifting new book, a closer examination of Israel’s motives reveals a state whose repeated recourse to savage war is far from irrational. Rather, Israel’s attacks have been designed to sabotage the possibility of a compromise peace with the Palestinians, even on terms that are favorable to it.

Israel has turned their palestinian ‘problem’ into a lucrative benefit for themselves. managing the largest open air prison in the world has meant they are the world leaders in weapons, logistiscs and surveillance tech, which they test in the occupied territories and then sell on to the rest of the world.
peace won’t create that kind of profit, unfortunately.

          surveillance tech…

they are several levels ahead of the rest of the world in spook gear

if you ever have some smart idea for a product check Israel first before getting stuck in – you’ll inevitably find someone has already developed something same/similar/better

          1. scottser

the israelis either own or fund a chunk of the companies that make the machines that make superconductors and next generation chips. you’d be only allowed to innovate within the limits of what is released to the public.

Even Pat Kenny is now starting to push back against the deception.

“”This is propaganda, this is not fact.” @PatKennyNT challenges @DonnellyStephen
    on rapid antigen testing”

Some serious doublespeak by Donnelly in this clip:
    https://twitter.com/NewstalkFM/status/1392812766696771586

Harvard epidemiologist and antigen test expert, Michael Mina, chimes in further down on the Newstalk thread:

“I’m sorry for Ireland. It’s about time that they invite someone who actually can explain to them why they are misinterpreting the Cochran review and all of the science behind rapid tests. We’ve written about it extensively. They are simply wrong on this. “

Mina appeared on Prime Time a few nights back to provide his expert insight on the technology behind the tests. Prior to that Prof Philip Nolan had made a fool of himself on twitter, referring to the rapid antigen tests as “snake oil” despite them already being used successfully in many countries and Holohan had made the same misleading claim as Donnelly did in the above clip, stating that the tests were inaccurate 50% of the time.

The government knows that the widespread use of antigen tests would end the complete control over the data they’ve had up til now (inflated through PCR testing) and allow citizens to take back a certain amount of control over the direction of the pandemic response. Toxic state-citizen relationship laid bare again

Donnelly is shaping up nicely to be the governments fallguy for this whole thing.

I wonder has it dawned on him yet?

    2. Cian

      Donnelly isn’t wrong.

A positive antigen result means you have Covid – and are most likely contagious.
A negative antigen test means either (a) you don’t have Covid, (b) you are very recently infected and not yet contagious, or (c) you are recently infected and contagious.

A positive PCR result means you have (or had) Covid. you (a) may be contagious, or (b) you are not longer contagious.
A negative PCR test means either (a) you don’t have Covid, (b) you are very recently infected and not yet contagious.

The scenario we want to avoid is this:
“I’m going to a wedding today and I feel a tiny bit under the weather. I take a antigen test. It is negative. I go to the wedding becasue the test said I didn’t have Covid (even though I was feeling a bit poorly).”

Harry’s “genetic pain and suffering” – luckily, he shares no genes with Charles or Liz.

    1. Spot of Bodge

Nonsense, compare pictures of Harry and a young Prince Philip, they are remarkably similar in appearance. Fun as it is, your theory is claptrap.

      1. Junkface

The Picture of Harry with caption at the bottom left of the Daily Star is hilarious!! “It’s all Daddy’s fault.” Ha ha ha! It must be some craic writing for the Star, where drinking on the job probably enhances your work.

@spot of Bodge – Look at the cad that Diana had a fling with. He’s yer man, no doubt.

    Irish Daily Mail….

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a product advertisement posing as the lead story in any national newspaper before, anyone?

It is a truth universally acknowledged that a Kerry firefighter with an ageing Corolla facing the hated NCT, or perhaps with a favourite child’s birthday looming, must be in search of a little stand of whins. And thanks to all of us, he no longer has the laborious traditional task of filling the knapsack sprayer with kerosene and accelerating the burn. Even a sidelong glance will ignite them.Maybe the whins are smarter than we think, maybe fuelled by an existential crisis they are determined to deny us their scent and their bloom. In this brave new burning world, flammability must outrank culpability every day.

The Guardian front page story about a left wing mob freeing muslim immigrants from deportation during Eid is missing one important point. The men weren’t muslim. Even Nicola Sturgeon making a big deal of freeing these muslim immigrants, couldn’t be bothered getting the facts straight. Scotlands leadership is a bit of a joke now.

what the Irish Mail is calling a game changer

    The Link Group

and they are being clapped on the back

Sweet Cheezuz and the little lamb
    Strange Times indeed
Too much now – even for me

I’m joining Bodger and getting away from it all
