How many times are we gonna hear the phrase “cabinet are due to meet and decide this week / next week / soon / in the next two weeks / today (maybe) / whenever they feel like it / when Tony says it’s ok” etc.

Seems to be getting kicked down the road big time while the rest of Europe are leaving us behind.

The damage being caused by the government is a scandal but I can’t say IALPA are winning me over by promoting the so called “Green Certificate”. On the one hand they stress the need for a “science-based approach” and that “it’s entirely pointless to have artificial barriers in place in the Common Travel Area that have zero public health benefits” but then comes this contradictory, anti-scientific doublespeak:

“The freedom of movement within the EU is an enshrined fundamental right of EU citizens. The Digital Green Certificate is a clear pathway to restore this freedom and Ireland should be a leader in this regard, not an outlier”

It is not up to the Irish Airline Pilots’ Association to be calling for vaccine passports or indeed any other sort of passports- that is completely outside their brief.

Vaccine passports will be a decision made by the respective governments and so far Spain is leading the way by saying no- because people will vote with their wallets.
