Hear Me Roar

at

This morning/afternoon.

Maya Forstater, 47, had lost her job at the think tank Center for Global Development (CGD) in March 2019, after posting a series of tweets questioning UK government plans – which were later scrapped – to let people declare their own gender.

Gender and sex are two separate things however the science is immutable regarding being trans. Women or men are born with the brain structure and DNA of the opposite sex they identify with or those with none or both. Years ago, distinctly I do remember not wanting be a gay man…I just wanted to be ‘normal ‘. Here I am now and realise I am. This equivelates to the trans movement now. Biology has just created people that way.

My understanding of this case, is more to do with beliefs.

It was understood that believing ‘transmen are men’ and ‘trans women are women’ was a protected belief.
But it was also taken that to believe that ‘transmen are not men’ and ‘trans women are not women’ was not a protected belief.

But now, after this case, the failure of the previous judge to understand the law has been made clear.

This case was in favour of Ms Forstator, and supported by the UKs EHRC that the law does hold as a “protected belief” a person’s belief that “sex” matters, and a person’s belief that ‘transmen are not men’ and ‘trans women are not women’, is again, a legally protected belief.

What this also does is put a halt to the blurring of the lines between gender and sex.

The thing is, see, you create these kinds of legal protections to recognise vulnerable minorities who have been poorly served if not directly targeted by laws in the past and to prevent targeted discrimination. I don’t think the class of people who do not think trans men are men or trans women are women have ever been a vulnerable minority, except in the narrow sense where their prejudices run afoul of special protections. So now if the beliefs of those who do not believe that trans men are men and trans women are women are being afforded special protection, while the traditionally vulnerable and persecuted minority have that much less protection from discrimination. But good news, I guess, for someone.

        1. Clampers Outside

          “special protection” pffft!

Read up will ya, its the SAME protection for either belief.

I’m happy to see that someone who was attacked for giving an opinion that was quite a normal train of thought for 90% of most populations (but are afraid of speaking up), has had her name cleared. She was just stating common sense & reality, and this illiberal, authoritarian, movement has completely lost grasp of reality. There are many transwomen going on podcasts saying that they do not want all of this controversy and forcing new laws onto society, it’s not coming from them most of the time. It’s coming from a small group of extremists, who aren’t even trans, they’re indoctrinated fools. Virtue signalling and social media pile ons is their Olympics, their passion.

Fluffy, gender is a word invented to help teachers avoid sniggers in biology class, it means sex (snigger). Nobody has ever been born with the “brain structure & DNA” of the opposite sex/gender, nor with both or none, ever. A tiny number of people have Gender Dysphoria, some men are Autogynephiliacs, both of these are mental states, there is no physical manifestation of these mental states. Masculine & Feminine are Personality Types that, while aligning with the sex binary imposed by nature on all sexually reproducing species, are expressed in combination & degree by everyone. You’ve swallowed the voodoo coming out of the USA & I’m afraid you’re almost entirely factually, scientifically incorrect in everything you’ve said here. Yet I disagree most with your assertion that this is the modern equivalent of “gay rights”, indeed if Transgenderism has it’s way, every effeminate boy & every “tomboy” girl will be tagged as Trans, before puberty & encouraged to have life-changing surgeries & ingest vast amounts of drugs to enable them to sustain a pretence of being the opposite gender. The vast majority of these children are destined to be perfectly normal gay adults but they will never get the chance. Transgenderism intends to wipe out homosexuality & erase women as a biological reality. Many women, particularly Feminists, have challenged this & have faced a tsunami of evil mysogyny in response, check out the website terfisaslur.com for examples of the vileness you are tacitly supporting but many gay people have yet to realise what they are facing, which is annihilation & replacement with trans men & trans women. I would caution that the above website is a glimpse into a very disturbing world, one you may be unaware of, much if it is very hard to stomach but searching terms I’ve used could help you inform yourself. Sorry about the bluntness but you really are talking dangerous, unscientific nonsense, whoever you picked it up from.

Brilliant! This ruling means people in the UK are free to be obnoxious bullies in the workplace with impunity. Much Freeze Peach!!

          1. Daisy Chainsaw

Forstater, a turd in human form, did the same thing and gets praised for it.

            Why the double standard?

          2. Clampers Outside

The same? Evidence? Care to pro ide any? Actual dehumanising comments only please, you know “same”, as you said.

            I’ll wait.

      1. Clampers Outside

Eh, what hysterical nonsense is that. It most certainly does not mean anything of the sort, and in fact, the ruling states the opposite.

        Your comment is hysterical rubbish.

    1. Clampers Outside

Someone who believes that “sex” matters.
Someone who believes that gender should not be used to replace discussions regarding sex – particularly with regard to the law, medical health, crime stats, population stats, etc.
Someone who is critical of gender ideology.

      1. millie bobby brownie

Sometimes I think they post these stories to wind up Clampers.

        Mind your blood pressure, pal!

Edit: Not that I think you’re losing the rag here or anything. Just don’t let them wind you up – much too hot for that today ;)

      2. Micko

Well considering that the whole gender as separate to sex idea is only a few decades old and the guy who basically thought it up was a bit of a pervo.

        We should be critical.

        https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Money

That being said, we should as a society try to treat anyone who wishes to identify as a woman or man with respect and ask other people to call and recognise them by their chosen gender.

I just don’t think we really need laws or punishments to enforce that.

    2. K. Cavan

Justin, TERF is the more commonly-used term. Trans Exclusionary Radical Feminists believe Transgenderism, by demanding access to spaces & facilities for women for any man who declares himself a woman. From toilets to changing rooms, from scholarships to group memberships, nothing is allowed to be “Women Only” & this includes much which has been designed to correct gender imbalances imposed by historical sexism.

  2. SOQ

Personally I am sick of the whole subject and I think it has done more harm to the community than any single topic since its inception.

I don’t have a problem with transgender people at all but its all the other nasty wildlife hiding under the trans umbrella these days which bugs the hell out of me.

I’ll leave it to my main trans woman Rose of Dawn to explain.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sDFv5inSi-0

    1. K. Cavan

I very much understand how you feel, SOQ but this is not something that can be ignored in the hope that it will go away. In many ways it’s the first chance for Woke to prove it’s ability, as a philosophical & political construct, to deal with competing rights, to the satisfaction of the largest number of people. Trans activists have taken over Stonewall in the UK, a long-term & effective advocate of Gay Rights is now advocating against Gay & Women’s Rights, in favour if Trans Rights, only. I’d encourage everyone to watch Rose Of Dawn’s video, it would certainly trump having to wade in the sewer of terfisaslur.com.

  3. Jonboy

I sit somewhere in the middle ground of this debate. I don’t think a man should be able to just say he’s a woman and walk into a women’s shelter but I also don’t think a trans-woman who’s had all the surgery and lives as a woman should be denied service from the same women’s shelter.

What I would really like to know is, has the gender self-id laws introduced here like 5 years ago actually eroded women’s rights in Ireland? I know there’s a lot of fear in the UK but how has it actually played out here?

    1. Daisy Chainsaw

No. No rights eroded here or in the UK, just a lot of hate stirred up against a tiny minority.

    2. K. Cavan

As a man, you have to fill out an A4 form to be legally recognized as a woman in Ireland, the opposite applies also but men in women’s spaces represent a far bigger threat than the other way ’round. When rapists can have themselves assigned to a women’s prison, to enable them to continue their predatory behaviour behind bars, as has happened in the UK & US, the insanity is clear for any rational person to see. Declaring that “it can’t happen here” or, at least, hasn’t yet, is simply not good enough.

      1. Hyper real

        What threat or insanity?
Are they hiding under our beds?
In our socks or panties sniffing them?
        What?
