Climate Bill Detractors

at

This afternoon.

Swords. north county Dublin.

Members of the Irish Farmers’ Association (IFA) take part in a nationwide rally to highlight the ‘importance of commercial farming to the rural economy’.

It was the first large scale demonstration by IFA since the pandemic began, as farmers gathered in county towns across the country to warn against the dangers in the current CAP proposals and the Climate Action Bill.

lads, the days of breathing in cowpats and slurry are numbered. ye’ll be growing weed and harvesting insects within the next 10 years. that, or your farm will be an ‘exclusive development’ of overpriced flats designed to cater for office workers who’s job was in Dublin but are now working from home.

Fellow had a standing order for the weekly Tractor magazine with his newsagent for years. One day he arrived in and asked for a magazine on Air Conditioning. The newsagent asked him if he wanted the Tractor magazine, to which he replied – ‘no thanks – I’m an ex-tractor fan now.’

They will be ignored unless they make sure that is impossible. Do what the French do and drive a few truck loads of manure into the city and dump it outside government buildings.

    Words from clever people.
“No force on earth can stop an idea whose time has come”
The majority of people have come around to the idea that established practices in industry & agriculture need to change, regardless of the impact of profitability for IBEC members / IFA members.
Whether climate change is real or not is irrelevant if consumers believe it is real and stop buying products they don’t believe are good.

“It is not the strongest of the species that survives, nor the most intelligent; it is the one most adaptable to change”
I was made redundant a few years back.
Only in hindsight can I confirm it wasn’t actually a setback – I’m in a better place now that I was.
If I was given the choice of spending a day out protesting the Climate Action Bill or a day at home planning a pivot to a more sustainable business model, I probably would have stayed home.

The images above look like an Own Goal to me, the IFA are willing to consume fossil fuels bringing their tractors to the “Big Smoke” and slow traffic to protest the impact that saving the environment that has on profits.
Now that the nuns aren’t using Terry Prone to confirm there are no dead babies maybe she’s free to lend a hand to the farmers on the environment?
There we go, have I offended everyone ;-) I’m all about inclusion etc…

I’m standing up for extinction, the democratic kind which embraces urban and rural equally.

In a controlled environment, yes, but that is not what we have here. As you well know.

Nobody denies that carbon dioxide is food for plants but you’d rather pretend that was an argument that is happening for some reason.
