Why don’t they put together an indoor ventilation plan for restaurants, pubs and cafes? It would not be hard.

You need x amount of strong fans at the back of the restaurant.
You need 2 windows open in the centre to allow new air in.
You need x amount of strong fans by the entrance to allow air out and circulate.
Entrance doors must be kept open.

People’s jobs are on the line here, and they are not even trying to think using common sense. Same goes for on-street dining, write up a new law allowing it, or allow for exemptions with the current laws.

It’s unreal that we have known how important indoor ventilation is for a year now and absolutely zero engagement with restaurants, pubs, schools and workspaces..

        Indeed Cu

Even more unreal is that we’ve known about Covid for 14 months now and we’ve done pretty much sweet FA to increase capacity of our hospitals and ICU dept.

Get ready for the lockdown to “protect the HSE” line coming your way this winter again.

And the one after that and after that…

You don’t even need windows or fans. High quality HEPA filtered air conditioning units have also been proven to reduce spread significantly too.

In a logical world the government would be giving grants to all indoor restaurants/bars to retrofit themselves with these.

(they also reduce the spread of all other diseases, and make these environments more pleasant to be in in general temperature-wise…so they’re a fairly easy win all-round you’d think).

I didn’t know about HEPA filtered air conditioners. That makes the situation even more crazy. Why must our politicians sit on their hands when they should be taking control, and showing some leadership skills? People like seeing confident action from their leaders. Why does Ireland only have beta male, wet farts for leaders? They are pathetic!

They are too busy handing out contracts to their pals and pocketing brown envelopes.

But sure it’s our fault collectively. In Ireland we worship the “cute hoor”.

          I think it’s a leprechaun type thing :0)

Plus, we really really have an inferiority complex. We need to be told we’re a great bunch of lads all the time.

I guess rigging the most speculative and cannibalistic housing market in Europe is a full time job.

Well the Brits are saying the delta variant is rampant but has resulted in no uptick in hospitalizations. So no it’s not a reason for concern.

It’s following a standard pattern of becoming more infectious but less serious.

It is utterly bizarre that people have such difficulty accepting that a virus from the Corona family would act like a virus from the Corona family. According to Sentra Gupta, who is a world leader in infectious disease modelling, it will settle into an endemic phase by next season.
