Bodger is reaching fever pitch in posting anti-vaxx and anti-public health measures it must be the hot weather!
Bodger used to be a good Bodger with a good variety of posts but Bodger is plummeting so far down the rabbit hole of conspiracy theories I think Bodger will disappear.

How impotent Bodger and the few gullible anti vaxx posters must feel in their total failure to have any effect in swaying public opinion against vaccination etc.

How is anti-discrimination in the form of vaccine passports, a conspiracy theory?

It’s very real and very now

      1. Nigel

It’s only a conspiracy theory if you actually believe this is part of a long-term secret plan to ostracise and ultimately commit some form of mass murder on the unvaccinated. If this is a sign that such a plan is working, then there’s some genius-level minds at work to execute something so pointlessly tortuous. Otherwise it’s a balancing of public health versus individual rights to allow a partial reopening while still rolling out vaccinations to everyone who can take one.

What? Where is that being suggested on Broadsheet?

The only articles I’ve seen posted are based on the theme of discrimination based on medical history – a true public health initiative would be use of negative tests for indoor hospitality ala Germany/Denmark and more. But thats not the case here, and yet people still defend such a discriminatory (and ultimately inferior) policy.

‘What? Where is that being suggested on Broadsheet?’

I’m sure E’matty will be along shortly to give you the general outline. But anyone arguing or claiming or implying that discrimination against the unvaccinated is a goal or a desired outcome instead of a compromise is implying that to one degree or another.

‘The only articles I’ve seen posted are based on the theme of discrimination based on medical history’

Yes, a balancing of public health versus individual rights to allow a partial reopening while still rolling out vaccinations to everyone who can take one.

Awww Little Eddie Hobbs trying to make himself relevant again. Is the smiley face a replacement for his Star of David?

      1. Daisy Chainsaw

It wasn’t a good look on Eddie who wanted to appropriate a symbol of repression of millions to represent the fact that he couldn’t get a pint inside, such is his need to be the victim. The Auschwitz Museum schooled his ratlicker bottom.

        1. General Public

Apparently so did Neil Collingwood, the pro vaccine activist, and the whole BBC.

Do try and keep up indeed ROFL

‘May someone step forward to give you leadership like Eric Clapton’ is actually an ancient Irish curse.

Now hold on Gavin Doyle. As much as I don’t agree with Van Morisson’s opinions on many things. He made incredible timeless albums (Astral Weeks, Veedon Fleece) in the late 60’s and early 70’s. He is a musical genius. I’m not sure how good he is live now, but that does not make his life’s work irrelevant. Same goes for some of Eric Clapton’s early work/ albums up until the mid 70’s at least.

The thing is, in the USA they are still huge stars and could probably fill a stadium any time.

There’s a real bang of ageism in a lot of these attacks. “You don’t belong in the group I do, you’re irrelevant!”
Real evolved thinking there from younger age generations, really intolerant. The future is bright!

    1. scottser

van morrison has a handful of decent albums with strong songs. the only good thing about the rest of them is that he has incredible musicians on them; unfortunately though, none of them seem to be allowed any sort of creative input.
his voice is pretty poor by any standards though. he never lost that nasally whine and even though he has a decent ear for a tune he knows well he’ll never have the chops his heroes like sam cooke or wilson pickett had.
it seems he takes no joy in singing and it’s hard to listen to him in anything other than short doses – in fact i’d be glad of a short gig as i doubt i could stick 2 hours of the guy.

Getting your medical advice from Eric Clapton is a bit like getting investment advice from Eddie Hobbs…

Broadsheet Bodger has become everything it once sought to disown. It is pure right wing clickbait BS. It’s worse than the Mail or The Express.& is now an appalling piece of botched Bodgered pimp work.

    1. Bodger

stephen, the majority of the tweets in this post are anti-Eric, we don’t do clickbait and what is right wing about opposing discrimination?

      1. General Public

As a rule Bodger, anyone crossing the site out and replacing it with your pseudonym is simply setting the record straight regarding the fact that Bodger’s opinions are his own and – while respected by other contributors to the site – do not reflect the views of other contributors to the site, or the site itself, as has been pointed out many times from the same pathetic troll farm

        1. f_lawless

Reminds me of Alinsky’s “Rules For Radicals” which these days is all the rage in Zero-Covid troll circles and beyond.

Rule 13 – “target people rather than institutions” as “people hurt faster than institutions”.

  7. ian-oG

To be fair to the likes of Clapton and Morrison, while I disagree with their views on this subject I still think they are fantastic artists and that won’t change.

    But Eddie Gobbs Height?

Seriously, what’s the point of putting the Renua Goblins’ tweet in there?

I mean you might go off fillet steak one day but nobody ever had a hankering for goblin turds.

  8. SOQ

34 comments and not one about what Eric Clapton is saying. He won’t play medical apartheid crowds which is his right and all credit to him for standing up and saying no.

But, there are plenty of US states where this does not apply- illegal even- so he can still tour if he wants to, and in those states he’ll probably be more popular than ever.

    1. millie bobby brownie

      Medical apartheid?

Thanks for the chuckle, along with the gin & grapefruit rec. Absolutely delicious.

  9. retroboy

Clapton is a silly. The English reaction to Hendrix, who he couldn’t even have a look in. As for Morrissey, more facist bull plop.

  10. J9

Clapton is a racist, self confessed rapist and Morrison is a cranky orange hasbeen – I’ll take my medical advice from doctors. They are free to play to whoever they like. We are not being forced to have a vaccine and thankfully nobody is being forced to go and see either of them play. Those comparing vaccination to the holocaust or apartheid are truly disgusting individuals. There have been anti vaccine movements throughout the centuries – This is no different.
