Villa ‘E-1027’.
Renowned Irish designer Eileen Gray’s renovated 1929 house in the Côte d’Azur, south of France has re-opened its doors to the public.
E-1027 (to be pronounced ‘e-ten-two-seven’). ‘E’ stands for ‘Eileen’, followed by ‘10’ for ‘J’ (representing ‘Jean’), then ‘2’ for ‘B’ (‘Badovici’) and finally ‘7’ for the ‘G’ in ‘Gray’. Jean Badovici was a Romanian architect, Gray’s then-partner and the owner of the villa. According to Gray, he collaborated with her on the site’s general plan.

Cool :)
That gaff was on a TV programme a year or two ago. I think they were in the middle of the renovation/restore at the time.
I’ll post a link if I can remember it.
I saw that too. She had a mad life, well lived.
Is it on AirBnB?
One Ireland’s greatest artists, this is fabulous including the conflict in the name, how personal for her it was,the Bay of Monaco, the blue azure in the tapestry and rugs,Le Corbusier’s graffiti and his relationship with a way,way ahead her times Irish woman and she was so so difficult…oh the house is absolutely perfect.
Anyone interested in learning more about Gray’s fascinating life and work might look out for two very good biographies, one by Peter Adam and the other by Jennifer Goff.
I actually met Eileen Gray in Paris when she was in her late 90s, amazing woman!
How was it, Danny? Had she kept her Irish accent?
