The Echo- Bars (in Cark) get online abuse.

In the main they don’t get abuse north of Dublin and certainly not in the second largest city known as Belfast?

    1. Rosette of Sirius

So what are we saying here? Free State anti-vax guideline-follower abusers are moronic scumbags?

      Uh huh. Sounds about right.

    2. Cian

The Bar: “You can’t come in unless you’re vaccinated.”
The unvaccinated: “if you won’t let us in we’re going to boycott your bar!”
      The Bar: “???”

        1. Cian

          me write again smaller words:

Bar: “You can’t come in ”
          unvaccinated: “I’m not coming it!”
          The Bar: “??? that’s what I said”

This is a great thread exposing many of the frauds involved in the US antivax movement (in L.A. alone). Seems to be mainly actors out of work. What a shocker! After watching this clip I recognized a lot of the antivax “research” quoted by antivaxers here. So yes, you have been listening to quack doctors and taking lists like VAERS seriously when any old nut job can call them up and spout lies.

Do you think it’s possible that the crisis actors could be getting paid to undermine the anti-vax movement?

How do you know that its definitely one situation and not the other? As you said, they’re out of work and willing to take any work going..

And considering the amount of money spent on pr by pharmaceutical companies involved.

What other research did you uncover?

      1. Nigel

It’s possible, but wouldn’t you need evidence to show that was the case? If it hadn’t been exposed they’d still be out there promoting anti-vaxx stuff. in fact presumably they still are, and any anti-vaxxer who hears this will do what you just did and immediately assert they’re a discrediting exercise – but since everyone could predict that response, why would would anyone bother? And the US culture war right has deep pockets, too. Didn’t you argue the children at Sandy Hook were crisis actors, or am I mixing you up with someone else?

          1. Nigel

Well there’s the fact that a whole load of out of work actors are out there promoting anti-vaxx ideology. Either they went down the rabbit hole themselves and their common background is an oddity, or someone is paying them to do it. Adding a third layer of ‘paying them to do it to discredit anti-vaxx ideology’ is something the bishop of Ockham would disapprove of, especially since it seems like a lot of trouble to go to for… a twitter thread? Do you also think someone paid Piers Corbyn to to get caught taking a bribe to discredit antivaxxers?

        @Man on Fire
That sounds like another level of paranoia and conspiracy theory. Read through the thread. I didn’t investigate this, someone else posted it on twitter and I saw it by chance. Its really interesting to see that many of the grifters from the antivax movement AND right wing nuts/ mouth pieces like Candace Owens have actually come from the same actors & model agency over the last 4 years or more. Now a German friend of mine has told me that there are many out of work actors in Germany that are part of similar antivax (queredenken) movement, recently in Berlin, who are also selling whacky products related to the “alternative medicine” industry. The grift is in and it pays very well.

        1. Man On Fire

“That sounds like another level of paranoia and conspiracy theory..”

Really, how is it any different to your take on it?

Because Candace Owens is hardly anything to nail your flag too, or second or third hand info from Germany.

          Is it possible or not?

          1. Cian

if your criteria for accepting a theory is “is it possible or not” then you have set the bar literally as low as you can.

          2. Nigel

Well, it’s *possible* that in some instances it’s just like Cian’s, and that’s as good enough for you!

          3. Man On Fire

For the purposes of establishing reasonable doubt, yeah, I never once said its a fact, just that it’s as possible as JF’s claim.

          4. Junkface

            @Man on Fire
            “Is it possible or not?”
Yes anything is possible to a certain extent, in the age of misinformation. I just don’t think that its likely that someone is paying actors to make antivax movements looks silly. They already look really silly. (just read their signs) Like I said, many of them from the movement in LA and other cities of the USA are being investigated and the common factor is out of work actors, and in some cases out of work TV show directors and producers, struck off doctors who work in alt medicine grifting. My friend in Germany showed me links to similar things on his computer, but its in German, and I am not yet fluent, and I have lots of work to do in my job anyway.

          5. Man On Fire

            “I just don’t think it’s likely..”

I do. And if placards at a protest are your reasoning for believing otherwise I kinda feel sorry for you.

      3. Cian

        @Man On Fire
Is it possible that “Man On Fire” is being paid to undermine the anti-vax movement?

Is it possible that “Man On Fire” is is a spotty adolescent living in his mom’s basement?

Is it possible that “Man On Fire” has an IQ less than 75?

        1. GiggidyGoo

          Bold boy Cian.
You were coached big time yesterday. Your divert, distract, duck, dive and lies and smart comments do nothing for your credibility, which is basically gone at this stage.

    2. Rob_G

Not to mention any posters here by name, but I could see how, if someone was out of work for most/all of the pandemic and had a lot of time on their hands, that they could end up spending too much time on Facebook and falling down the anti-vax rabbit hole.

          1. Nigel

It’s *possible* they’re not down the Facebook rabbit hole collecting PUP, there’s no evidence either way, show your research.

    3. SOQ

So basically people who smear to others as ‘conspiracy theorists’ are arguing that there is an anti vax conspiracy? Oh the irony.

      1. Junkface

You mean things that Trump and his Qanon loons have accused others of doing, repeatedly, have actually turned out to be their very own methods? That is ironic.

My main concern with any group of frauds that misinforms and takes advantage of others, is that very soon, they convince them to donate money. I hate seeing people get grifted. That’s what the antivax movement is mainly about. Grifting for cash, or bigger audiences, who might in turn donate cash. Hey, they learned from the best. Trump. He took $75 million and counting from his own, poor and dumb supporters to help fight the fantasy that was “stop the steal”. Even people on here were believing his nonsense.

Please don’t give any of your money to people/organisers associated with the antivax or Trump movements. They are almost one and the same.

        1. SOQ

Absolutely not- Trump is very pro vaccines- so much so his team has been drafted in to promote them in red states.

          1. Cian

            Donald Trump.
“Joe Biden kept talking about how good of a job he’s doing on the distribution of the Vaccine that was developed by Operation Warp Speed or, quite simply, the Trump Administration,” the 45th president said in a statement released via his Save America PAC on Sunday [18 JUly]. “He’s not doing well at all. He’s way behind schedule, and people are refusing to take the Vaccine because they don’t trust his Administration, they don’t trust the Election results, and they certainly don’t trust the Fake News, which is refusing to tell the Truth.”

            Sounds like he is Pro-Trump.

    1. Rob_G

Who pays for anything in the cash in the thousands, other than for the purposes of facilitating criminality?

      1. Junkface

Bertie Aherne famously walked around in Ireland and the UK with wads of cash, for the horse racing! He actually mentioned it in a tribunal. Ha ha!

    2. Cian

      What is the issue?
There is a 10K cash limit relating to money laundering legislation since 2010; if you deposit more that 10K the bank will tell revenue.
