First World Problems

WHO chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus

This afternoon.

Via Reuters:

The World Health Organization is calling for a moratorium on COVID-19 vaccine boosters until at least the end of September, its head Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said on Wednesday.

The move was to enable that at least 10% of the population of every country was vaccinated, WHO Director-General Tedros said.

The call to stop COVID-19 vaccine boosters is the strongest yet from the UN agency as the gap between inoculation rates in wealthy and poor countries widens.

I understand the concern of all governments to protect their people from the Delta variant. But we cannot accept countries that have already used most of the global supply of vaccines using even more of it,” Tedros added.

    This is good news.

I just hope the richer countries don’t just stockpile the vaccines until October.

Disgraceful- they could have just bought them from South Armagh and supported indigenous industries at the same time?

It is pretty horrifying on a moral level that we’re vaccinating healthy 16 year olds, at no risk from corona, in Ireland at present. While at the same 80 year olds in many countries around the world can’t even get a first dose.

Why does nobody in the media ever bring that up?

So WHO is finally backing Sunetra Gupta then is it? She has been consistently arguing for an global strategy to the pandemic.

Or, given the social upheaval and protests all over Europe and beyond, it is possible that they know there is going to be a huge blow back against jabbing children.

The problem is, if boosters are required because the vaccines wear off, what is going to happen come autumn?

I think if you read back very carefully you will see that you have answered your own question!
