Huguenot Horology.

A ‘fully-Irish’ watch company – founded by cousins Jack Daly (right) and Henry Roe (left), whose family dates back to the Huguenots who left France for Ireland in the 16th century – offering vintage and classic designs and using over 15% of recycled materials. Full range here.

They write:

We wanted to design watches for people like us who love the vintage style of the 1950s and 60s era and care about quality. Huguenot values craftsmanship and attention to detail and supports local Irish businesses. Currently we are in talks with a major Irish charity to give 2% of our sales to support mental health awareness, a cause we feel is more important than ever.

Some great pieces there lads and fair play on the mental health support as well.

You’ve just found yourself a new fan! Love the bit of personal history as well.

      Hi Richie,
The watch movement and case are made abroad, sadly because there is no adequate manufactures here. Our end goal is to change that step by step. We have started with Irish paper & packaging, we are talking with Irish tanners for leather straps and eventually want to bring the watch tooling to Ireland ! We want to proudly have “Made in Ireland” soon !
Thank you from us at Huguenot Horology

Especially liking the £169 EXPEDITION NOIR. Really nice looking piece. May just treat myself.

They look the biz. Excuse my ignorance, but not sure on the 6/12/18/24 dial. Are these the dates going up in twos? I’m blushing already before the explanation arrives.

      Hi Hicksonian,
There is no bad questions, only questions ! So the 6/12/18/24 are indicators of the 24 hours. In essence our Expedition watch is a chronograph and has 2 sub complication dials (Left Dial) is a 60 minute timer (Right Dial) is a 24 hour indicator, its means you can quickly tell AM or PM.
Our website goes into more detail on the functionality of the watches, we hope this helps :)

      Hi Lorcan,
Thank you so much, it has been a passion project of ours for years. We felt there was no better time than the present, and we are so happy with the reactions so far !

Love the title of this article – the watches are looking really sharp, so nice to see interesting design like this. Stands out so much from the sea of “minimalist” clones you see a lot of nowadays. Keep it up!

      Hi Phil,
Could not agree more, we made this watch as a direct counter to the mainstream minimalist movement. We feel watches have lost so much character and got way to large to be enjoyable. That’s why we went back to classic aesthetics.
      Regards,
      Huguenot Horology
