Lisa Shaw, who worked for BBC Radio Newcastle, died at the age of 44 in May after developing headaches a week after getting her first dose of the vaccine.

Newcastle coroner Karen Dilks heard she suffered blood clots in the brain which ultimately led to her death.

The inquest heard the condition linked to the AstraZeneca vaccine was very rare.

When I got my AstraZeneca they told me that if I got headaches go straight to A&E immediately. The cure was simple.

They also gave me a leaflet with a short list of symptoms to look out for. Over 80 million jabs given in the UK.

    1. SOQ

A family member got AstraZeneca – she had severe headaches for three weeks and had to have a battery of tests but fortunately, it did clear up by itself.

We’ll probably never know how common these types of injuries are of course because doctors aren’t reporting half of them.

          1. SOQ

Given that at least in some the cases that very same doctor is responsible for injecting the patient in the first place, you can be pretty certain that they will be in no rush to report it.

          2. Nigel

They’re probably out all night dumping the bodies in the nearest body of water. Have you any notion at all of how stupid what you just said is?

  2. kerryview

Very sad that anyone had to die, especially a vaccinated person. But how many millions will not die after being vaccinated? Balance is a fine thing, I thought the ‘broad’ in ‘broadsheet’ was an indicator of the its content. More fool me.

Tweets from Dr Marcus De Brun this morning. @indepdubnrth

“Last Summer between June 21 & Aug 26 WITHOUT a vaccine a total of 67 Covid deaths recorded in Ireland.

Same period this Summer after ALL vulnerable adults and most remaining adults have been vaccinated: A total of 107 deaths

Mortality has almost doubled WITH vaccination?”

“If we have almost twice the number of vulnerable people dying within the context of vaccination, we must now ask is there a correlation between vaccination and increased mortality amongst the vulnerable?

Are we in the midst of a second wave of State Sanctioned Euthanasia?”

        1. ProfessorMark

Haha. Its like Marcus sees all the potential shapers of change as startic. Flat earth stuff.

          1. SOQ

Can you explain why the deaths have nearly doubled please? Or are you saying that is not the case?

          2. Kim Cardassian

Marcus picked a period where there was far far less of the virus in circulation. He’s a bit of a dope

          3. Kim Cardassian

I didn’t say this year. Also, you know the answer to your question.

Marcus cherry picked a period last year where cases were at its lowest with a different variant dominating the confirmed cases. But you also know this.

So what are you actually trying to say?

          4. SOQ

@ Kim You said- Marcus picked a period where there was far far less of the virus in circulation.

Which is the same thing as saying there is more virus in circulation this year period surely? He is comparing like with like after all.

        1. Nigel

I dunno. Does he strike you as someone who understands the importance of interpreting data with respect to the real world, and the dangers of oversimplifying a more complex truth by trying to see the whole story from a single data-viewpoint?

    2. goldenbrown

ah fs…I’m not getting involved in this

except to say that’s a fairly brutal comment kerryview

sometimes it’s better to say nothing at all, y’know?

      1. kerryview

Never intended anything ‘brutal’. I suggest subliminal (as if) propaganda is brutal and saying nothing is not an option. But that’s my opinion, you have yours.

      2. chris

Is no one concerned about 1/3 of the batches of Moderna being ‘contaminated’? Because you should be. Sinister doesn’t even start to describe it.

        1. Micko

          Good point

Unfortunately, no one cares about that or anything else anymore I think chris.

All anyone cares about now is being proven right…

As in, “I KNOW I made the right decision, what the hell is wrong with these (insert opposing side)” says everyone

          1. chris

The Branch Covidians seem impervious to logic, almost as if it was a cult with initiation rites ‘jabs’. How to deradicalise a nation? It’s probably not even a possibility at this point.

          2. Micko

            Hey Andrew

How are the Covid socks your mother in law got you for Christmas working out?

            Snigger indeed…

  3. Col

This is terrible news. But that tweet is about peer pressure is total speculation- she may have been delighted to receive the vaccine.

      1. Col

Oh yeah, that’s a fair point Man On Fire. I just meant there are other possibilities. I should have said “she may not have been pressured at all”.

  4. Pat_popper

These stories are dangerous and shouldn’t be published, who do they help? Only the anti-vax lunatics benefit from this rubbish.

      1. Man On Fire

Indeed, is it giving out about the news?

Or is it triggered, like a fair few other commenters, by MdB..?

        I’d say the latter..

    1. Man On Fire

We’re they in hospital for Covid19 or something else?

That article is very light on detail. And curiously heavy on government guidance..

      1. Micko

Yeah. It’s pretty loose on certain details alright.

Very specific on gov guidance but loose on the question of them being vax’d or not.

“Power said that “most” of the 16 pregnant women who were admitted to ICU this year were NOT vaccinated. ”

Why not give an exact number? What’s “most” mean – 9 out of 16?

Also, does the fact that everyone who steps foot in a hospital this year is tested for Covid affect this?
Didn’t happen last year. Only symptomatic were tested.

  5. Martina Wallace

As you won’t publish my comment, I’ll try a different wording. Bodger.. do you think I should (a) get the vaccine or (b) not get the vaccine ? Don’t hide behind a load of articles, and tell me yourself. Have courage in your convictions.

      1. D

        Wow.
        Medical advice.
Just when I thought it couldn’t get any worse.

It’s a trick question. The only answer is ‘I haven’t a clue, ask a pro’.

        Jesus wept.

          1. D

That’s a good innings, and fair play, but I dare say if she’s writing prescriptions she has the qualifications to do so as a pro.

  6. Junkface

Endless clickbait arguments on covid 19, vaccinations or masks. Jesus, it’s boring as f***! Please continue until infinity.

The covid 19 pandemic broke some peoples brains, including our political leaders.

    1. ian-oG

I take great offence in your implication that our political leaders had functioning brains to begin with Junkface!

      For SHAME!

      ;)

      *titter*

      1. Junkface

Ha ha! It’s like we’re all on a mental merry-go-round, daily.

We should not have elections anymore, lets just throw them into a Royal Rumble/ Cage fight every 4 years.

        1. ian-oG

The amount of covid stories is getting quite boring though to be honest. Its literally just a rehash of the same arguments we are seeing over and over again, nobody seems willing to budge on their views and we just keep coming back to the same points again and again.

I’m not saying we shouldn’t discuss it, but how many different ways can we look at the same issue more or less?

To use the logic that those who opposed to mask wearing, vaccines etc use about the health service, what about all the other stuff that is going on, all those great pre covid articles we used to get when BS was covering everything from Maurice McCabe’s tribunal to the death of that poor woman from The Communication clinic? Seems to be less doggy posts as well and who doesn’t like a doggy post? (Cat people but they can do one, the sites mascot is a dog.)

          1. Junkface

            +1 Ian-OG
We have entered a next level of pedantics, repetition and amateur scientist/ virologist/ sleuths and many people can’t seem to get out of it. I would worry for their sanity.

Discussions are not solving anything, people are just picking a side and booing the other side. Learning has ground to a halt.

          2. Man On Fire

I’ll have to disagree there, even today’s posts are more current affairs than Covid.

Unfortunately the majority of traffic is on Covid19 related posts. That’s not the fault of BS.

Take for instance Otis’ lab. There are few comments compared to the post about the death of Lisa Shaw.

The article is littered with sneering posts due to the addition of MdB.

All the sneers are from one camp.

There are people out there who simply don’t want negative posts about vaccines.

            Why is that?

          3. Man On Fire

You are precisely the type of commenter I’m referring to. You offer nothing but sneers.

Why do you visit this site if only to sneer.

            Lamentable.

          4. jungleman

Yeah Papi, get off the website! This child is taking over and he’s having none of your guff!

  7. one_proud_boy
