Brian O’Doherty,  President of the Irish Primary Principals Network (IPPN)

This morning.

The President of the Irish Primary Principals Network (IPPN) says allowing unvaccinated, asymptomatic confirmed close contacts return to the classroom would be a cause for concern, particularly in the context of increasing cases in schools and the challenges being presented to school leaders.

Brian O’Doherty said pressures are emerging because, in some cases, principals are being called upon to make judgement calls without the benefit of public health advice when a positive covid case is identified in a school.

Speaking on Today with Claire Byrne, Mr O’Doherty explained when a Covid case is notified to the school, the school begins a process that involves undertaking a risk assessment to identify close contacts.

Anyone?

…..that poo eating grin just creeped me out, yikes he’s a bit triggering for me,did the teachers take over after the nurses or are they now sharing the power?

  2. Frank

    Teachers vaccinated. Check.
    Teachers parents vaccinated. Check.
Teachers nannys and grandas vaccinated. Check

Who exactly do Covid riddled children pose a threat to????

      1. Frank

        Check. Micko.
The part of the whole shebang I find most mystifying is…
Covid is a deadly risk to ‘some’ of us that is the truth (I’m sure you’d agree?!?) but who is that ‘some’?

A gargantuan heap of resource and cash was spent on a general vaccine. Why didn’t the boffins in the lab coats identify why ‘some’ people die from Covid?? and others (like me, because I am strong like bull) bat away the auld Covid in a couple of days and go back down the mine to earn a crust for the bairns.

Is Covid-19 really just another name for a much more successfully marketed Y2K virus?

        Am I missing something here??????

        1. E'Matty

Good question and one you would think would be front and centre in the public domain given the impact this pandemic has had on the world. It has been known for some time that the actual cases where Covid19 proved fatal all involve the person suffering a cytokine storm. The complete absence of any debate on why some suffer fatal cytokine storms and others can be completely asymptomatic has been a clear red flag.

Given the decades long history of coronaviruses and vaccine induced antibody dependant enhancement resulting in cytokine storms, this is one line of inquiry worth pursuing. What groups have suffered the worst effects of Covid? The over 65s and healthcare professionals. Who are the most vaccinated sectors of society? The over 65s and healthcare professionals.

    1. Nigel

Who wouldn’t want a viral disease running rampant through schoolchildren? That couldn’t possibly be a recipe for disaster.

      1. Micko

        …a viral disease you say?

        You mean like Chickenpox?

Which has a fatality rate of 1 in 100k among young children, getting even higher for teenagers.
        https://www.cdc.gov/vaccines/pubs/pinkbook/varicella.html

While covid has a fatality rate of what in kids? Sweet fa – that’s what!

        Yup.

And where’s Chickenpox’s yellow posters everywhere God damn it?
The CP vax isn’t even on Ireland’s general vax for kids. You have to PAY for it
        https://www2.hse.ie/conditions/child-health/chickenpox-in-babies-and-children/chickenpox-vaccine.html

        Shhhh…. sleep now… Nigel…sleeeeeeep…

Let the pox flow over you…

        1. Nigel

Unlike you, most people don’t actually want their kids, or anyone’s kids, to get chickenpox. Up until now there have never been advocates for letting kids spread chicken pox amongst themselves just to see what happens. And if covid spreads through thousands of schoolkids that mortality rate won’t remain as low as you complacently proclaim it to be, let alone the serious illness rate. Do you have any idea how weird, unserious and unmoored from reality you sound?

          1. Micko

“there have never been advocates for letting kids spread chicken pox amongst themselves”

What are you wafflin about – were you alive in 1980’s Ireland?

Sending your kid around to get ‘the pox’ was as common as ‘Help the Halloween party’ so it was.

          2. Nigel

That was the 1980s try to spread chicken pox now and see how popular you’ll be. But that’s not even the point. If some school official pointed out that thousands of kids all spreading chicken pox at the same time would be a matter of concern, who would disagree? (Save yourself, of course, Chicken-Pox Micko.) They express concern about a viral infection that has killed millions and ground the world to a halt for two years, and you have nothing but scorn and contempt. You have utterly lost all sense of human proportion. You literally seem to think that either everyone is stupider than you, or they’re all trying to con you.

          3. Ray

Nigel, hundreds of thousands of kids went to school over the course of the pandemic. In overcrowded classes. Primary school kids had no masks. For months. Hundreds of days. They played and hugged and spat all over each other in the playground. They sat for hours in poorly ventilated rooms before thousands of teachers. During cold months. There were no vaccines for much of this time.

What happened the kids, the teachers, the parents? Close to nothing.

            The vulnerable are now vaccinated.

Millions of deaths. Indeed. No idea what relevance that has to young parents, young kids and young teachers. Now mostly vaccinated.

          4. Nigel

Well, no, they spent quite a lot of the pandemic locked down or on holiday, but they’re going back to school now, so you’re complaining about people worried about whether and how the disease might spread through schools, trying to insist that such worries are unreasonable and perhaps even sinister, and yet, curiously, people do not find the reassurances of pandemic truthers particularly worth listening to, perhaps because of they way they treat anyone with concerns as stupid or evil, while ignoring their own lack of credibility because they say things like ‘hundreds of thousands of kids went to school over the course of the pandemic.’

          5. GiggidyGoo

I’m sure we’ll be due a bout of flu this winter season Now, how will that be differentiated on the fly from Covid by
            a) The teachers
            b) The doctors

Will people with coughs, sneezes, loss of taste, temperatures who are suffering from the flu trigger Covid-19 warnings etc. etc.

Then again – sure we probably won’t have flu this season either.

          6. Ray

            Strange comment.

Your first two words appear to show disagreement but you just go on to say something else which also happens to be true. Both are correct. Kids were locked down, on holiday and also in school physically for months.

You then say I complained. No, I didn’t.

I did not say complaints of others were sinister.

Then you are on to some ad hom. Trying to label me a “pandemic truther”. I don’t treat anyone with concerns as stupid or evil.

And apparently I lack credibility by saying hundreds of thousands of kids went to school.

Ad hom, deflection, straw man. Please stick to the higher levels of Graham’s hierarchy of argument if you don’t mind.

          7. Nigel

            ‘people are gone mental’

            So it seems.

‘Will people with coughs, sneezes, loss of taste, temperatures who are suffering from the flu trigger Covid-19 warnings etc. etc.’

For a start they should stay at home, whether it turns out to be flu or covid, as it’s generally not a good idea to go about spreading either.

‘Please stick to the higher levels of Graham’s hierarchy of argument if you don’t mind.’

I am truly sorry you didn’t bother to familiarise yourself with the substance of the argument you waded into.

      2. Frank

Kids need to get sick Nigel. It’s what primes their immune system. Mel Greaves’ Exposure to Infections and Risk of Leukemia in Young Children is worth a read.

Conclusion: Our results support the hypothesis that infections in early childhood decrease risk of ALL.
ALL is Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia the most common type of childhood leukaemia.

I remember the brilliant Professor Owen Smith telling me in the playroom of Saint Johns ward in Our Ladys Crumlin to read that. Zero comfort at the time but I wanted to know. And he told me.

Thanks Owen. You saved all our lives.

        1. Nigel

That’s not actually a license to celebrate the possiblitlity of thousands of kids spreading a viral disease that has killed millions.

  3. E'Matty

“allowing unvaccinated, asymptomatic confirmed close contacts return to the classroom would be a cause for concern” – given his role in the education system, perhaps O’Doherty might explain why he made the “unvaccinated” distinction? Does he not understand a vaccinated asymptomatic confirmed close contact could also be carrying the virus? Such a lack of logic and understanding of the issue should preclude such an individual from having any role in the education of this nations children.

    1. Nigel

At this point you’re all so twisted up you can’t even tolerate the idea that people might be worried at the prospect of a hughly infectious virus running through schools. There isn’t the slightest give in thuis absolute conviction that your fellow humans cannot possibly have genuine fears and concerns, they are all either fools or fascists trying to trick you. You’ve turned everyone who thonks the pandemic is real into monsters. It’s not enough that the kids are back in school, there most be NO WORRYING ABOUT THEM CATCHING AND SPREADING COVID. If you do that. E,Matty wants you fired.

      1. hmmm

Remind us again Nigel, what is the infection fatality rate for COVID?

I can never remember. Is it 0.1% or 0.3%?

And is that the same for children?

        Inquiring minds want to know.

        1. Nigel

Remind me, how has that percentage translated to real numbers across the world over the course of the last two years? How many children? Seems like the sort of thing you’d know off the top of your head, being so interested in that specific subject.

          1. hmmm

            No Numbers Nigel.

IFR of 0.1% it is then.

Which means a 99.9% recovery rate.

And that’s before vaccines, which don’t stop infection as we know.

            Thanks for playing.

          2. Nigel

            ‘No Numbers Nigel.’

What real numbers does that percentage represent, hmmm? Why are you reluctant to say?

            ‘Nigel doesn’t do poker…’

You guys don’t do real numbers, apparently? If we’re going to be honest about the risks involved, not fudging around with a single percentage figure as the sole data point on which to make decisions.

      2. E'Matty

“they are all either fools or fascists trying to trick you.” I don’t think you’re a fascist anyway Nigel….

You also quite deliberately avoid the crux of my comment. O’Doherty makes a clear distinction between the vaccinated and unvaccinated, where there is no logical basis for it. He is another clown playing into this fanatical and zealous vaxx the world movement, and worse, he is doing so in a environment involving children.

        1. Nigel

‘O’Doherty makes a clear distinction between the vaccinated and unvaccinated, where there is no logical basis for it.’

Vaccinated people are at considerably less risk of catching or spreading covid.

          1. hmmm

            IFR is 0.1%.

Vaccines don’t stop you catching COVID.

Israel, one of the most vaccinated places on the planet is now hinting that 4 boosters will be required.

How many booster shots are you willing to take Nigel?

          2. Nigel

That 0.1% represents more than four and a half million people worldwide whose deaths you’re trying to trivialise, and that’s almost certainly under-counting.

Vavccines drastically reduces your risk of catching and transmitting covid.

‘How many booster shots are you willing to take Nigel?’

When you guys find out that there’s a new flu vaccine every year, your minds are going to go pop.

          3. GiggidyGoo

            Bullpoo Nigel.
Vaccinated people are as much likely to catch and spread the virus. The ‘vaccine’ (which isn’t a vaccine as such) just reduces the effects the virus has on the ‘vaccinated’, but not the likelihood of catching it and spreading it. If you know otherwise, then please post a link that supports that view. A decent link that you can back up with facts now Nigel.

          4. Oro

You could also glance through this link, which details how vaccinated people are infectious for a shorter period, and less likely to be infected in the first place. Along with the conclusions of the previous link (that virus shedding is reduced) that would mean every single category of getting / spreading the virus is reduced in vaccinated people compared to people that are unvaccinated.

            https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/variants/delta-variant.html

          5. hmmm

Allowing you those figures means almost 4.5 billion people have survived COVID! Yay!

A testament to the resilience of the human immune system.

And yet you still dodge questions about booster shots.

Have many flu vaccines are tied to a Vax pass?

Will you take a COVID booster every year for the rest of your life?

Do you think children should be forced into this subscription model immune system by stealth? Because that’s where things are heading.

Before you guffaw at this speculation remember that this time last year Vax Passports were dismissed as looney tunes.

          6. Nigel

‘Vaccinated people are as much likely to catch and spread the virus. The ‘vaccine’ (which isn’t a vaccine as such)’

What space station is beaming this stuff into your head?

‘A testament to the resilience of the human immune system.’

A testament to the life-saving efficacy of ventilators.

‘this time last year Vax Passports were dismissed as looney tunes.’

This time last year and this time this year the idea that the pandemic was part of a conspiracy to introduce Vax Passports were and are dismissed as looney tunes.

          7. GiggidyGoo

Good man Oro – your first link. . “this article is a preprint and is not peer reviewed’
            https://www.medrxiv.org/content/what-unrefereed-preprint

            Your second link.
“Fully vaccinated people with Delta variant breakthrough infections can spread the virus to others. However, vaccinated people appear to spread the virus for a shorter time: For prior variants, lower amounts of viral genetic material were found in samples taken from fully vaccinated people who had breakthrough infections than from unvaccinated people with COVID-19. For people infected with the Delta variant, similar amounts of viral genetic material have been found among both unvaccinated and fully vaccinated people. However, like prior variants, the amount of viral genetic material may go down faster in fully vaccinated people when compared to unvaccinated people. This means fully vaccinated people will likely spread the virus for less time than unvaccinated people.”
Did you read it? “appear to” “may go” “likely” “less time”. Such bullpoo

          8. Nigel

You cannot seriously be relying on links from me to reach your conclusions about the efficacy of the vaccine. Mind you, it might be an improvement on wherever it is you’ve sourced your current ‘knowledge.’ Try Oro’s links. Might do you some good.

          9. Oro

The cdc link is plain as day, the quote you provided actually is in disagreement with your point so I’m not sure why you quoted it. This is an exercise in avoidance, and how to discredit towering amounts of evidence that prove you wrong in order to maintain your own beliefs. This is akin to your “it’s not approved yet, if it ever is I’ll acknowledge it” *gains approval five days later* “it’s only approved in 16+ therefore not approval” mental gymnastics.

I did read the links btw. Health officials and scientists don’t speak in absolutes. Because the info is not absolute. But it specifies real trends in how things generally are according to groups. And unvaccinated people are generally less contagious, less likely to be infected, and infectious to others for a shorter period of time.

I don’t know why you even think that you’re above the levels of the professionals and can make determinations of your own that have more largess than there’s, it’s so entitled / deluded.

          10. GiggidyGoo

Well, Nigel, if you can back up your assertations do so. Oro’s links don’t back up anything. (see my reply to Oro)

Now, instead of writing a load of waffle, how about backing it up yourself?

If you haven’t anything to rely on (links), then your argument is, well, not an argument.

          11. hmmm

Bad News Nigel has lost all perspective.

The good news is 99.1% of people survive COVID.

The better news is now, having once been infected now 4.5 billion (Nigel’s figures) people are immune. Hooray!!

Pandemic over. Take off your masks. Go get a Vax if you want to and then STFU about all of it because it’s over!

            And Ivermectin for the win:

            https://twitter.com/ArtValley818_/status/1435448253840039937

          12. Nigel

More than 4.5 million people are dead from covid, hmm. That doesn’t seem like a cause for celebration, but you do you.

          13. GiggidyGoo

            @Oro.
Sorry. It’s not as plain as day at all.

As plain as day would not use……..
            “appear to” “may go” “likely”
You r link backs up nothing.

No exercise in avoidance. That exercise is yours unfortunately.

“Towering evidence” wouldn’t use those phrases.

Sorry – phrases like that to try prove a point don’t cut it.

          14. Oro

I’m the one providing evidence. You (and the rest) cherry pick one quote and use that as proof positive that the opposite is in effect. Show me one study with a conclusion that unvaccinated people are as likely to 1) be infected and 2) transmit said infection. And I want that as the conclusion, one single quote about similar levels of virus material in airways won’t cut it sorry bb.

What’s that? You don’t have one? Hrmmmm what could it mean.

          15. Nigel

‘If you haven’t anything to rely on (links), then your argument is, well, not an argument.’

It’s not really my argument, its the arguments of scientists and doctors all over the world.

          16. Oro

Why would you put passport in quotation marks?

Equal parts obsessed and nosy SOQ. Enough with the attempt at moderation x.

          17. GiggidyGoo

@Nigel. What you have written, still awaiting backup is….

“Vaccinated people are as much likely to catch and spread the virus.

This time last year and this time this year the idea that the pandemic was part of a conspiracy to introduce Vax Passports were and are dismissed as looney tunes.”

            Backup please

You’re now resorting to the usual bullpoo in order to get the last word in.

          18. hmmm

Remember Nigel, last simmer both the CDC and the HSE admitted over counting COVID deaths by 94%.

So now your 4.5 million is actually 270,000.

I’m not celebrating the deaths. I’m celebrating the survive-ability and the natural immunity.

          19. Nigel

‘So now your 4.5 million is actually 270,000’

No, it’s 4.5 million immune systems that weren’t good enough for you to celebrate, and rising, and quite likely undercounted. Not to mention long covid.

          20. GiggidyGoo

            Oh cool Nigel.

Nigel makes sweeping statements. Nigel asked to back them up. Nigel can’t.
            Nigel a busted flush.

          21. Oro

So obsessed you had to ask twice?

I’ll make this clear, it’s none of your business. You’re acting like an onerous creep. I’ll ask you to not ask this again, because it is none of your business.

          22. GiggidyGoo

Are you not embarrassed Nigel. After all of your posts above, off you run. No backup. Trying to hitch a ride Oro’s posts which have been discounted, and all you can come up with is “prove me wrong” Gobpoo Nigel. Make a statement, back it up. If you can’t, then at least be man enough to admit you can’t.

          23. GiggidyGoo

            @Oro.
            You provided two links.
The first one had as disclaimer on it. That one is therefore discounted, as it’s not even peer reviewed.
Your second link is a lesson in waffle. Nothing definite. Surmising.Mights, probably’s, etc. Discounted too, as it’s also not factual.

And you are putting both forward as some sort of proof. You need to go back to the drawing board i’m afraid.

            Provide something actually factual

          24. Oro

I’m sorry. Your version of “I’m discounting this” doesn’t supersede the CDC. Are you out of your mind? Do you think you, some random person with no medical knowledge on the internet, somehow is in a position to wave your wand and say “it’s discounted” and that that means something.

Your opinion doesn’t matter. The evidence is as explicit as is necessary for it to be, and emphatic. How you think you can even argue this point is gas. What deluded narcissism.

Still waiting on your link btw. Curiously you forgot to include it haha.

          25. SOQ

@ Oro- can you please state your location and passport nationality?

            Once more for Jesus.

As you popup on this Irish site with such strong opinions- it is a perfectly reasonable question.

          26. GiggidyGoo

            Youre getting aerated there Oro.
You provided the links. I’m no expert on covid, but i’m well capable of looking at reports such as they are in your links and see them for what they are.
What evidence is the CDC putting forward?
Here’s the “evidence’ you’re relying on
“ vaccinated people appear to spread the virus”
“the amount of viral genetic material may go down faster”)
“This means fully vaccinated people will likely”

            Very compelling. ….. not!

The only avoidance is you not being prepared to see the meaning of the language being used.
(oh yeah, try the ‘narcissist’ route then…..maybe you need a QR code of your own?)
If you want to go down that road of debate, I can accommodate that.

          27. Oro

            You’re no expert yet you posted this earlier;

“Vaccinated people are as much likely to catch and spread the virus. The ‘vaccine’ (which isn’t a vaccine as such) just reduces the effects the virus has on the ‘vaccinated’, but not the likelihood of catching it and spreading it. If you know otherwise, then please post “

Sounds definitive. Just looking for you to provide evidence or support of that. Peer reviewed since you’re so demanding that others provide that same. Otherwise you’d be a bit of a hypocrite mais non?

I at least provided considerable supporting evidence. You have provided nothing. Who’s more credible here?

          28. GiggidyGoo

            @Oro.
You provided waffle – no evidence.
vaccinated people appear to spread the virus”
“the amount of viral genetic material may go down faster”)
“This means fully vaccinated people will likely

            You call that compelling evidence?

Jeez. I’d put you down earlier as someone with a serious capability. Obviously not.

Maybe you’d be happy with the Oxford take on it? https://www.cbsnews.com/news/covid-vaccine-delta-variant-infections-carry-same-virus-load-unvaccinated/

          29. Oro

I’m sorry we’re looking for peer reviewed studies only apparently. Your graph has been discounted as G would say.

Giggidy – I see you still haven’t proved me wrong.

From your link to CBS – ‘ The researchers stressed that vaccination still offers good protection against catching the disease in the first place, and protects against getting seriously ill with it.’

If you don’t actually know what a ‘breakthrough’ infection is you should probably go look it up somewhere – it mught clear up your hilariously bad take on the vaccines.

hmmm – the vax is fine, yur statistical analysis? Wojus.

          31. hmm

We’re already established that numbers are not your thing Nigel. And a risk of 0.1% is so confusing to you that you would rather cower at home behind a mask with your mRNA NotVaccine trying to police the thoughts of random people you’ve never met.

            Such fun!!

So I know you’ll cower under the blanket before lashing out at the truth BUT these numbers from Israel may very well be a harbinger for the winter months to come.

The NotVax (thanks to Antibody Dependent Enhancement*) makes it more likely that the jabbed will get sick with COVID and end up in hospital begging for Ivermectin.

And yet you still want to push this experimental concoction in to the arms of children with no medical cause or proper testing.

*a phenomenon in which binding of a virus to suboptimal antibodies enhances its entry into host cells, followed by its replication.

I agree numbers are not my thing, if by that you mean 4.5 million dead are more than enough to make me sit up and take notice, but barely a blip on your numerical radar.
