I’d say the DUP suspect a popish plot… and since this pope is a closet Marxist too… a perfect storm…finally the plan reveals itself…

and President Higgins may speak Spanish during his meeting with the Argentine Pope. Gramsci was Italian. The Pope is Argentinian, Spanish speaking and a Jesuit. President Higgins is also fluent in Irish. His Northern Ireland critics could be at a loss for words.

Mother and daughter who worked in care dead from covid. Unvaccinated of course.
Are you going to take responsibility for deaths like this?

    1. hmmm

Baby dead after acquiring toxins through his mothers breast milk. She was vaccinated of course.

Are you going to take responsibility for deaths like this?

    2. Mr.T

Its their choice, they are entitled to make it.
Why should anyone take responsibility for the choices of others? (Unless of course they were coerced)

Also fyi, an unvaccinated 40 something has the same risk of covid death as a vaccinated 60 something. So with that in mind, should we be cocooning 60+ year olds so that they dont risk dying from covid?

Spreading misinformation on a continuous basis using what little credibility this site has to create hesitancy in people who should be listening to the professionals.

        Blood on his hands.

        1. hmmm

We should listen to the Professional Liars pushing experimental vaccines into children now?

Why should we listen to you about listening to them?

You’re a merchant of fear crying foul because some people have the audacity to think for themselves.

          1. just millie

We should all listen to Professional Liars pushing a conspiratorial and unproven narrative to support their anti-vaccine stance instead, is that it?

Why should we listen to you?

You’re an anonymous avatar pushing your opinion as fact, hiding under the guise of being an ‘independent thinker’.

This argument works both ways, unfortunately.

          2. hmmm

            There’s Pandemic you say?

So where’s all the dead people? 40000 dead the promised in Ireland, one in every family, bodies in the street, hospital overflowing de blah de blah blah balh.

Any evidence for any of that tom2?

            #WORSTPANDEMICEVA

Yeah. If we did NOTHING there would have been a lot more dead.
But guess what? We did loads of stuff to reduce the potential death toll.

          4. Cian

            @hmmm
Remind us again Cian, what’s the infection fatality rate for the COVID?

I don’t know the rate (and it depends on age). Peru has had 5x the number of deaths per capita we have had; If we were as bad as that we would have 25,000+ deaths and counting.

Hungary, Bulgaria, and Czechia are at x3 times our rate.

UK, USA are at x2 our rate,

          5. hmmm

Cian doesn’t know the IFR of COVID in Ireland but can claim with confidence that everybody else has multiples of the Irish death rate.

            Riiight…

            Pixi-headed maths for the win!

          6. Cian

            @Kdoc

*nobody* know the IFR because nobody know exactly how many people have been infected.

But if you want to go on global numbers:
            Infected: 227,909,513 (positive tests)
            Died: 4,685,679
            IFR: 2%

            For Ireland 371,301 Vs 5,179 = 1.4%

          7. Charlie

That’s far too much info for him Cian. It doesn’t suit his agenda, the answer is not on his list and therefore it’s null and void.

          8. Micko

That’s the CFR Cian not the IFR.

As in, if you had two patients and one died – the Case Fatality Rate would be 50%.

            But you know that.

Interestingly on Worldometer the CFR is just about to drop under 2%. It was around 4% – 5% when this thing started. It’s currently at 2.05%

            So that’s some good news.

So when the CFR becomes about 1%, we know that the actual IFR is a tiny fraction of that.

          9. E'Matty

and the WHO have stated they believe the actual infection rate is as high as ten times the recorded figure so the actual CFR and IFRs are minute, and certainly not the 1.4-2% being banided around by the Covid fanatics on here. And that is taking the death count at face value which we know we can’t given the additiona of those hwo died with Covid along with those who have actually died from Covid. They’ve been completely conned on the figures since day one. In a real pandemic, there is no need to cook and exaggerate the figures as they have been doing all along. One big con job and manipulation of public perception this has always been.

          10. SOQ

@ Cian- In addition to the highest deaths per million, Peru had the harshest and longest lockdown in the world- something you conveniently omit to mention.

          11. Nigel

‘And that is taking the death count at face value which we know we can’t’

Because of the strong likelihood that deaths have been underreported. But let’s also take into account the number of people who didn’t die but had to go on ventilators (I think it’s safe to say that they probably would have died without them) which is not trivial, the number of people who didn’t go on ventilators but had to go into an ICU, again, not trivial, and the number of people suffering long term injuries and illnesses after recovering from a covid infection. All of that hiding behind ‘small’ or ‘minute’ CFR and IFR figures. If we’re talking about cooking figures and trying to manipulate perceptions.

Let’s also take into account the toll taken and the enormous strain placed on frontline healthcare workers, aside even from their covid-related injury and mortality rate. Let’s also take into accunt the fears of people in vulnerable age groups, the fears of people with disabilities and the fears of the immunocompromised whose concerns are rendered invisible by the dismissal of covid as a serious illness. All these things vanish into insignificance behind the teeny tiny CFR and IFR figures which you like to play as a trump card as if those figures don’t represent appalling human suffering.

          12. Cian

            @E’Matty
and the WHO have stated they believe the actual infection rate is as high as ten times the recorded figure so the actual CFR and IFRs are minute

List of countries showing % of total population infected:
None of these could have “ten times” more people infected:
            Montenegro   19.82%
            Andorra   19.52%
            Czechia   15.70%
            Bahrain   15.46%
            Maldives   15.08%
            Georgia   14.87%
            Slovenia   13.55%
            Israel   12.96%
            USA   12.79%
            Luxembourg   12.08%
            Lithuania   11.72%
            Netherlands   11.52%
            Argentina   11.46%
            Sweden   11.24%
            Estonia   11.22%
            Uruguay   11.10%
            UK   10.74%
            France   10.60%
            Panama   10.54%
            Spain   10.53%
            Belgium   10.45%
            Portugal   10.43%

And these of these would need practically *everyone* to have been infected if your “high as ten times” were true
            Brazil   9.83%
            Costa Rica   9.75%
            Serbia   9.73%
            Colombia   9.58%
            Cyprus   9.56%
            Croatia   9.56%
            Kuwait   9.46%
            Switzerland   9.40%
            Lebanon   9.08%
            North Macedonia   8.90%

FYI the total population of these countries is about one billion.

          13. Nigel

‘FYI the total population of these countries is about one billion.’

And hey, 0.1% of one billion would be TEENY.

          14. E'Matty

@ Nigel – “‘FYI the total population of these countries is about one billion.’
And hey, 0.1% of one billion would be TEENY.” There you go again playing silly with the figures. Is anyone else claiming 100% of the population would be infected? I think not. The figures have been completely distorted from day one to inflate the numbers and induce terror by including those with Covid, where it may have played no role whatsoever in the death, as a Covid death.

          15. Nigel

‘Is anyone else claiming 100% of the population would be infected?’

‘@E’Matty: and the WHO have stated they believe the actual infection rate is as high as ten times the recorded figure so the actual CFR and IFRs are minute’

‘List of countries showing % of total population infected:
None of these could have “ten times” more people infected:’

Your own sense of the numbers involved is all over the place.

The elderly man in the video above is clearly struggling for breath and seems to be bullied from the hospital by an imported Italian fascist who seems to be an ally of Dolores Cahill. I understand the gentleman’s condition deteriorated and he had to return to the hospital. This is elderly abuse and this is what many anti vaxxers are supporting.

        1. tom2

That italian fascist is a real scumbag. The old guy is actually not that old (covid makes you look wrecked) and is himself a fascist that hangs around Ben Gilroy.

    3. V aka Frilly Keane

      You know what T2

I don’t care where yis all are with anti vax v pro vax

but splashing that family tragedy across a front page is disgusting
mainly because their choices are fundamentally private medical information
      no two ways about it

and to make it a front page splash
with an unmistakable nah nah na na nah tone is not news reporting
      Its not journalism
it is vile and one of the most wicked opportunistic gotchas you’re ever likely to see

And it has all the characteristics of an underhand cynical advertorial

It is nobodies business what medical choices they made
It is a family tragedy at the hands of a virus that couldn’t care less about the decisions these two ladies made

If Bodger is going to be 100% authentic about their own mission
The Daily Mail would be put on the naughty step permanently
and removed from the daily papers roster

      1. Cian

Newspapers thrive on tragedy. Most papers “splash family tragedy across the front page” on a daily basis.

The Herald is wallowing in the drop in burglaries since 3 prolific criminals died in a road blaze. How that different?

  2. goldenbrown

did any of ye get to watch that drama “Help” on C4 last night?

I think it may well be one of the best tv dramas I’ve ever watched

I also kept imagining the parallels to our own C19 care home disasters which seem almost forgotten about now

    1. V aka Frilly Keane

going at it now this afternoon
      too wet for 9 holes

just now trying to decide if I’ll do a Rebel Velvet Traybake or a Crummy Traybake to keep me company
feckin Swiss Roll put the goo on me

      1. goldenbrown

great I’ll watch it (again) with ya

it’s a fairly dank afternoons weather here too

I’m heading down the town now to pick up a Viennese finger to have with the pot of tea at half time (it’s heading for 2 hrs long just to warn u)

btw their version of the finger is almost completely covered….dipped into the chocolate each end as it’s supposed to be but bet well into it so you can barely see any sign of the shortbread atall…a very good idea imho!

        1. V aka Frilly Keane

          f’n make em

those shop bought ones are riddled with sugars

          here
75g Butter (used salted), 25g Icing sugar,
          75g Plain Flour sieved
          ¼ tsp Baking Power
250 gms Dark Choc (or whatever chocolate you want really)

Oven 190º, grease baking tray – I use parchment myself, up to you
Cream the Butter & Sugar, must be baby chick pale yellow and just a fluffy, use a mixer
          Add the flour
Use a piping bag, plus whatever nozzle you fancy
or a strong freezer bag, snip the corner off; all you have to do is cover it in chocolate anyway

15-16 mins depending on your oven
          onto a cooling fray
don’t touch until they cold as they are still very brittle

you know what to do with the chocolate (just in case, melt gently in a bowl over a pan of water, whisk to keep it smooth and runny, and the air out)

          there you go
          barely 15 mins work
          and 30 mins wait

  3. TheSampsons

The situation with those burglars made my blood boil from start to finish, from the sheer number of convictions they had accrued, to the fear and misery they spread to those who’s homes they violated, often violently, to the absolute disregard of other drivers safety as they sped up the wrong side of a motorway, and then there was their funeral…..

  4. GiggidyGoo

I see some UK politicians want to revert to Pounds, Shilling and Pence. No doubt that’ll be music to some FGers here as, whatever about Pounds and Pence, the Shilling is top priority.
