Behold: the Brabus ‘Rocket Edition’ AMG GLE – purportedly the fastest production SUV on the planet.

Based on the Mercedes GLE 63S, the the twin-turbo 4.5L V8 has been thoroughly reworked, developing a terrifying 900bhp, surging to 100km/h in 3.2 seconds and on to a top speed of 330km/h.

Other Brabus goodies include an Airmatic Sports suspension controller, carbon fibre components, carbon-titanium tailpipes and gigantic 24in (61cm) wheels with carbon aero discs. The interior is Alcantra, carbon fibre and fine leather with red anodised metal accents.

Only 25 will be built and yours will cost a minimum of €381,243.

Looks like a Skoda after a dose of steroids…. That said, probably a fun drive :)

… but the price tag is… well… a professional footballers wet dream LOL!

Very much a Skoda grille alright!
      Jeez Brabus will love that.
Also, to annoy them even more, refer to the company as Barabbas i.e. an awful robber!

More so those SUV ‘coupe’ variants are just such a preposterous proposition be it BMW, Benz, Audi and Porsche. And genuinely ugly too. They’re a huge car but the space in the rear is very limited, surprisingly.

A couple of years back before lockdown I was given one of those as a rental in Munich Airport. Well, a GLE AMG 53 I think it was. It was quick, noisy and very thirsty but it neither worked as a SUV or anything resembling a couple. Fwiw, I booked an e-class level estate as I had a bunch of luggage to lug about.

      Anyways. Never ever for me.

Actually, i suppose the only one that got that suv coupe look sorta right is with the Range Rover Velar but then I’d never have one of those either.
