Update:

This morning.

DJ and spokesperson for Give Us The Night Sunil Sharpe and Button Factory promoter Will Rolfe spoke with Aine Lawlor.

Towards the end of the interview:

Aine Lawlor: “And can people, like, to put it bluntly, can they kiss?”

Will Rolfe
: “So, in terms of our ventilation, everything has been checked and it will be checked, CO2 levels will be monitored on the night. In terms of people’s romance and enjoying themselves, we won’t be preventing anyone.”

Lawlor: “So, it won’t be like the nuns used to be going around at all those school discos…”

Rolfe: “Absolutely not.”

Lawlor: “Nothing like that.”

Good times.

a pfizer scientist i know from newbridge said protection rates drop quick enough from 90% to about 10% if you received it a year ago. so seems sensible to have an antigen test as could have it. gig organisers hate this having regard to cost etc so they are not pushing it. maybe for insurance purposes or threat of HSE closing it down.

its probably going to be an anti-climax event anyway. better wait till we open up properly.

It is hard to know which side to go with –

      A. The Anti-Vaxxers who say “DON’T TAKE THE VACCINE – IT HAS UNKNOWN LONG-TERM EFFECTS”

      or

      B. The Anti-Vaxxers who say “DON’T TAKE THE VACCINE – IT HAS ZERO LONG-TERM EFFECT”

I haven’t heard of any that are against taking this experimental mRNA treatment say it has zero long term effects. Useless as to it’s supposed purpose? Yes, that’s quite evident at this point.

      2. SOQ

The fact these vaccines are not working at promised INCREASES the likelihood of long term injuries, because it was clearly not properly tested.

What an utter waste of everyones time and money. Nightclubs have been fully open across Europe for weeks now. Pilot events were done in other European countries last May and June, from which any testing data is easily accessible.

This will literally achieve nothing, while the country waits another 3 weeks to open up for no reason. The vaccination program is finished, things should have been fully open since mid-September at the latest.

This week is the 11th week that the UK has arts and culture and nightlife back fully in it’s society.

      What is going on here?

      1. Chris

Enough people in the UK kicked up a fuss, they were able regain some ground. People here insulted those that stuck up for their rights, dregs etc. Unfortunately I’ve discovered as a nation we’re bootlickers.

And don’t forget the ‘far right’ read: false flags as far as I am concerned, and the left throwing muck at anyone who dares to apply any level of critical thinking.

The fact that in the US BLM are getting involved might wake a few of them up, but I doubt it to be honest.

I think the Irish Gov’t owe the live music scene an apology and maybe more compensation than they have received. No excuse to wreck peoples earning ability when so many other countries have restarted their live music events without disaster.

If this is being classed as a “pilot” event – ie. an initial gauge before proceeding to implement the policy on a countrywide basis – then why are only holders of a Covid Digital Cert being permitted to attend?

According to a 22nd September government notification:

“From 22 October onwards final restrictions will be lifted, including:..certification of vaccination, immunity or testing as a prerequisite for access to, or engagement in, any activities or events”

    https://www.gov.ie/en/publication/83946-public-health-measures-that-will-come-into-place-in-october/

Surely a key part to any pilot event which was aimed at gauging the impact of lifting those restrictions, would be to make sure there are at least some people who have no Covid Digital Cert in attendance?

    1. Micko

      That would make sense alright.

But two days ago they extended the option to keep the passes and restrictions until Jan 9th.

I don’t think the passes are going anywhere.

      Hope I’m wrong.

      1. SOQ

The passes are defiantly not going anywhere- despite zero scientific evidence of any reduction in transmission. How could there be when vaccinated are just as infectious? Possibly more so as their bodies are generating spike proteins like crazy.

    2. Chris

I really wouldn’t hold out hope for October 22nd. They know they can do as they please and the majority are too cowardly to push back.

      1. f_lawless

I don’t. There’s been huge amounts of money already invested in getting this system put in place. Massive profits to be gleaned from all the data which will be gathered – not too mention a massive expansion of state control over citizens. It would naive to believe that by passively going along to get along this is all going to go away any time soon

I don’t think most people can get their heads around the fact that the data they’ll generate, when the “Vax Pass” mutates into a “Life Pass”, is a resource. Digital currency, which will be Digital-ONLY currency, will mean every single thing you do that involves money (& a lot of things that don’t) will be tracked and become a piece of data. The State will use it to control you, their “data partners” in the megacorps will use it to sell you stuff.
Imagine you put a new product out, you will be able to sit watching your sales in real time, who, where & how much. The ultimate in consumer manipulation.
The State will be monitoring your purchases of carbon, alcohol, meat, etc & adjusting how much you can spend on these products, next week. The ultimate in rationing & behaviour control.

The Australian Government is considering the best possible ways to support people, families and communities in places where high levels of welfare dependence co-exist with high levels of social harm.

The objective of the Cashless Debit Card is to ensure that welfare payments are spent in responsible and meaningful ways, and reduce high levels of social harm.

The Cashless Debit Card looks and operates like a regular bank card. It cannot be used to buy alcohol or gambling products, some gift cards or to withdraw cash.

      Absolutely shocking stuff.
