Well if they do put in a bid, they should do so sooner rather than later. It’s absolutely indefensible to keep the public hanging

Early days but very encouraging performance last night and am happy for Stephen Kenny who has had to take an awful lot of stick from the armchair experts since he took the reins.

Fair enough, Qatar aren’t exactly behemoths of footballing skill and prowess but there was a time when you couldn’t be sure what the result would be like against any opposition.

Fingers crossed this team will continue to build and develop into something that might – dare i say it – give us a reminder of our late 1980’s / early 1990’s thrills !

I missed the match but was very encouraged to hear the result. I can’t remember the last time Ireland scored 4 goals in a match! I’m pleased for Kenny, seems to have made some progress. We won’t qualify in this thing but the next competition should be our top priority.

Also Callum Robinson seems to be in blistering form, fair play to the lad.

Another great performance and Robinson seems to want to completely humiliate Joe Duffy now. My favourite Journal comment after the match “Anyone know if there’s a way to become unvaccinated?”

Should have faced a lifetime ban for endangering himself, his teammates and the fans with his anti-vaxx nonsense instead of being treated like a hero.

Go on, explain how a guy with post infection acquired immunity “endangered” fans and team mates by declining vaccination?

Aw c’mon – regardless of where you stand that’s a ridiculous thing to say.

      Lifetime ban, FFS.

Hopefully he won’t turn into the clown side of Robbie Keane (Juergen Klinsmann’s brother?), diving and looking for cheap free kicks and excuses.

Fellow once told me in a pub, as i walked past the TV during a match = ‘don’t bump off that, Klinsmann will fall’
