I hope you had a great run Ultan
…can’t wait to go back to Paris…went to Pere lachaise…thought I would hate it but the opposite…Montparnasse may be different…I’ll have to take three lots of flowers…
Me too, I miss my friends so much
To Castleblaney?
encore heureux de voir que ce vieille canaille Gainsbarre

“They give birth astride a grave, the light gleams an instant, then its night once more.”
Pozzo, Waiting for Godot
One of my favourite (and possibly personally overused) quotes
and as for the rest of the quote…
“Astride of a grave and a difficult birth. Down in the hole, lingeringly, the grave-digger puts on his forceps. We have time to grow old. The air is full of our cries”
I think the young with their easy unearned cynicism appreciate Beckett’s darkness, but those of us greyhaired and dimmed by the ravages of time feel it in our bones. Marvellous stuff.
Nice one
