A family member with a chest infection (gets it yearly)was made have a PCR test yesterday before being allowed see their GP. Still no result. What if they’re too sick to go for PCR test or what if they “test positive.” Are they not treated?? Is this a thing in Ireland now 🤷🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️

Maybe try asking the GP surgery instead of randos on the internet.
Because you, Daisychainsaw, have never given an opinion on the internet. Hilarious
Smacks of someone wanting the caredoc number for der little angels.
I think you’ll find the correct colloquialism is little “angles”.
Horrible people with kids, boo, hiss.
You think people with kids are horrible? Seek help.
You understood the inference. Poor attempt at a burn.
Hating people with children was somewhere in your mind before you posted that.
The inference was that YOU hated people with children (you raised the issue of a mother looking for free medical care for her “little angels”) I was obviously lampooning your intolerance, but you being a horrible individual have to proceed to gaslight me.
Caredoc isn’t free.
My mistake. You were being unpleasant about a mother wanting a number for paid medical care for “der little angels”.
I dont think they are actually asking people on the internet, that would be stooopid, think it’s called a declarative question.
Except they won’t be denied treatment.
That seems like malpractice.
An antigen test that gives results in 20 minutes would do the job.
PCR takes 24 hours.
Change the practitioner.
B-b-but muh snake oil!
If I call my doctor for an appointment and he cannot give me an appointment for 24 hours is that malpractice? The situation is not an emergency.
Seems to depend on the anxiety levels of the GP.
It’s actually even worse than this. GPs are refusing to see sick children and toddlers until they’ve been PCR tested. To book a test and get the result is 48 hours plus. So, we have in this country a situation where a sick 2 year old is denied medical care for over 48 hours, and all supposedly to protect the elderly, often already past the average life expectancy age, from dying with Covid. If I lost a child due to such a ridiculous policy, being sued would be the least of that GPs worries.
Criminal
If I was this imaginary doctor and had you chasing me down after the imaginary heartbreaking death of your child while they were waiting at home for a negative PCR test, I would be absolutely bricking myself.
Fred would just shrug off his child’s death and carry on being a gimp on Broadsheet.
Love how you’re consistent in your opposition to dehumanising and demonising people who disagree with each other.
Such a tough guy
If your child is that ill what are you doing ringing your GP and looking for an appointment instead of heading for an ER or calling an ambulance? Do you honestly give even a moment’s thought about the stupid things you say to drive your own sense of outrage and grievance?

If you bring your 2 year old to the ED they will be admitted regardless of whether a Covid test has been done. So you’re talking through your hoop as usual.
Actionable!!!!
wow, anti-vaxxers crying because they can’t avail of services, literally who cares, keep putting the squeeze on them until they get the message
Doesn’t mention if they are are vaccinated, is it the case that if you’re vaccinated you don’t need a test before seeing the GP?
“ until they get the message”
Would that message be, ‘we’re frightened, so do as we say or pay the consequences?’
So much fear.
And yeah as Gavin pointed out, this post doesn’t even mention vaccines.
If he knows it’s a chest infection why does he need to go to his GP? Sure why doesn’t he just lash some marryjuwanna in to him, be grand like. That cures everything according to a YouTube video I watched
I heard horse de-wormer is excellent for this kind of thing.
the annual chest infection like what Frodo gets on the anniversary of the stabbing on weathertop
“just give me the same antibiotic i get every year doc”
“maybe I’ll test you for covid first”
“right, I’m getting straight onto my friend who will ask the broadsheet massive what’s going on”
And what difference would a CoVid-19 positive result make?
Sure they’ll just tell you to isolate at home until you turn blue, then go to the hospital.
Once they know it’s covid they can ask you for advice on the latest miracle cure.
Sure and I would refer them to professionals who know about CoVid-19 early intervention treatments- like Dr Vincent Carroll.

But of course you know better than such people on how to save those patients- just let them lie there is it?
Are you not pushing the horse de-wormer anymore?
No- like yourself, except obviously less so- I am battling with anal warts.
Karma for your antivaxx ways, perhaps?
Most dangerous infection in the world apparently
“I’m afraid you’ve contracted Covid 19, Mr Smith”
“What’s the treatment Doc. Give it me straight?”
“Just stay at home and see if you die in the next two weeks”
“Oh…”
Not even a pamphlet on how to take care, just a txt message in most cases.
My doc did call to check up on us, but I’ve heard some people never get a call in the entire two weeks.
The HSE do call ya every feckin day to make sure you’re at home though. So that’s nice ;-)
I have to say, I wouldn’t be queuing up to see any doctor who doesn’t know what a PCR test checks for, which isn’t infection. There are levels of ability within the ranks of GPs.
My old GP retired & I wasn’t too impressed by her successor but I thought I’d give her a chance. Then a friend sends me a link to a newspaper story about her being sued! She settled & is being disciplined & she’s only been at it for a few months. We’re getting a lot of shitty doctors sent to our shitty health service, unsurprisingly.
Courtesy of Bottler Reilly, a lot of it.
