Win Nick’s Esteem [Extended]

at

Thank Fildelma it’s Friday.

With nightlife returning for some, let’s have a music competition open to all, whatever the medical status, shall we?

Sadly, we are still operating on our own esteem steam and without a voucher for the winner.  One day soon.

This week, I would like to know, if you were a DJ tonight at a reopened club, what would be your first floor-filling choon?

Here’s mine.

Please include video link where possible.

Lines must close at Saturday MIDNIGHT.

Last week’s winner announced here shortly.

From first-up floor-filler to clearing the sticky dance-floor…?

before they launch into Amhran na bhFiann

and the lights come up to highlight the bleary-eyes

of dishevelled Dishco-dancers full of dandruff and regret

            after the mandatory Copper’s-binge-feed

of 8 pints, too many WKDs & a rake of JagerMeisters:

the sublime Alison Goldfrapp – “A&E”

            Have a lovely day, peeps…!

Oh my god Galaxia! Haven’t heard that in an age, I think I was just transported back to the Sex Kitchen in Galway circa 1993/4

          Thank you for that :0)

It’s relatively quiet on here tonight. People must be out. This has been a staple of Irish dance floors for 39 years. Guaranteed to get them going in Coppers tonight and all those clubs in provincial towns that used to be advertised on 2FM

Bryan Adams – Summer if 69

Oh, oh, oh…. for me it would have to be Love Story by Victor Ruiz (of Sweden’s Drumcode Records).
The track is proper hardcore of the type you would expect from Drumcode, but it is the house music style vocal, that kicks in at 2m30secs that makes this a sure fire floor filler, and the wonderful breaks/ changes at 4mins, and a return to vocals at 5 that make this track pop for me.
But this track is sooo good you can’t just drop it in there, it needs an intro, and for that there’s this wonderfully house number from 2000 by Celeda called The Underground (Addictive Trip Mix)

These two played back to back… Now that’s a floor filler in my mind that will have a room hoppin’ with joy and positive energy :)
