      I agree
All the companies involved are still trading and in order to trade you must have insurance
So why have the insurance companies been made pay out also the companies
But as usual our taxes are a free for all

A good day for people of Donegal, a bad day for the other 25 counties in this state.

The taxpayer is being screwed over again; €420,000 to build what, a stadium?

Already individuals have been in the media saying that their 700 square metre house cost €1 million to build, and they want full compensation.

If there was the prospect of proper regulation emerging out of this, to prevent re-occurance, that would be something positive. But there’s little hope of that.

Does this also apply to people whose holiday / 2nd homes are impacted by Mica?
If so then I have an issue with footing the bill for peoples investment properties.

The companies who made these blocks and are responsible for the whole situation are still out there trading…

Plus – when they produced the product, they would have to have had insurance. Claims against the insurance that was in force at the time of production should be possible?
(as in – if I crashed into another car 4 years ago, and it came to court only now, the motor insurance policy I had 4 years ago would be claimed against)

Remember the banking crash and the auditors who were negligent and the result the crash
Again they got away with it
Then the settlements in court for medical negligence
All insured many doctors paying upwards of €50 grand for malpractice
Again the taxpayer and no heads roll
