      Yer man’s tweet is hmmm

“ In total, there were 64,657 cases (720% more than last Christmas) of Covid-19 in the past 14 days, ”

      720% increase!

Great to see the plan is working so well…

    2. Mr.T

“All 20,000 will be in isolation over the christmas”

Lol will they feck – if they have few symptoms they’ll be out and about playing with new toys

  2. Nullzero

What will Meehole do when everyone’s jabbed and the virus is still spreading?

They’ll miss the unvaccinated when they can’t blame them for their own fumbling and stupidity.

    1. SOQ

Then it will be the three jabbed blaming the two jabbed.

In some cases it will need to be double figure jabs before it dawns on them that over any period of time, the vaccines don’t work.

        1. SOQ

Forth jabs on the cards in Israel Cian- which means three has no longer efficacy time window then the first two.

          1. Cian

answer the question – I’m talking about just the first 2 shots.

you keep saying Israel are the “most vaxxed in the world”

(the answer in is table 2 in one of your linka https://papers.ssrn.com/sol3/papers.cfm?abstract_id=3963606)

and for booster, it is closer to 45%
            https://ourworldindata.org/explorers/coronavirus-data-explorer?zoomToSelection=true&facet=none&pickerSort=desc&pickerMetric=total_deaths_per_million&Metric=Vaccine+doses+%28by+type%29&Interval=7-day+rolling+average&Relative+to+Population=true&Align+outbreaks=false&country=~ISR

          2. GiggidyGoo

I think, Cian, that you’re not addressing SOQs post but instead are trying to make the thread about your 2 jab post. 2 or more you wrote, SOQ answered, so you’re now specifying just the first two jabs? That’s called distraction, diversion etc.

Israel, (using mostly Pfizer Inc.-BioNTech) has so far inoculated about 2.8 million people with a third dose by the way.

          3. Cian

            Thanks GiggidyGoo,
“two or more” means that they had at least two (but may have had more).
It is the number that have had at least 2 that I’m interested in. Because SOQ keeps saying that Israel are “the most vaxxed”.

Truth is, Israel lags behind the EU average.

Not becasue they have redefined “vaxxed” as three doses. But because there is a full third of the country that have received NO doses.

      1. John

Or you seriously that imbecilic puking that “vaccines don’t work” or do you take masochistic pleasure in exposing your idiocy in public?

    1. SOQ

Yup- the paramilitary organisation known as the ICA never decommissioned.

If one kid doesn’t wear them then the whole thing unravels from there.

          1. SOQ

How does zero or near zero risk sound?

More chance of them been ran over by a herd of stampeding drag queens.

          2. John

Are you doubling down on exposing your ignorance about covid and children “never develop serious CoVid-19”? never mind their ability to infect others during a global pandemic

Really SOQ you and your alter egos Bodger,E’Matty and the rest of the conspiracy believing clowns on Broadsheet are the reason we have warning labels on everyday products

          3. SOQ

Does every comment you make have to be riddled with cheap insults? If you communicated with people like that in real life, you’d have a well worn path to A & E.

        1. Micko

I see a lot of these types of article in the news lately.

Does anyone have a link to actual figures from the HSPC or HSE?

          1. I can't stand the rain

Every bed occupied by a Covid-stricken patient reduces the capacity for others needing urgent critical care or vital surgeries.

          2. SOQ

Because people now know that vaccinated can be just as infectious, there is no communitarian argument- so they are switching to guilt tripping with ICU capacity.

ICU capacity which was never expanded in near two years despite having what we were repeatedly told was the worse pandemic of our lifetimes.

          3. Micko

Great ICSTR The same was true last year.

Plus that’s also true of smokers and fast food enthusiasts. ;-)

Do you have any official figures showing the numbers of unvax’d vs the vax’d in ICU?

Genuine question. Someone must have them.

          4. I can't stand the rain

Micko – my kid – hint even a kid can find this out, said that on RTE News last week it was reported as being 100%. Yep – 100% he said, of people who have COVID in ICU are unvaccinated. I’m sure you can corroborate that yourself pal.

          5. Johnny

Some here, but as it does not support your bias….

-Out of nearly 29,000 Texans who have died from COVID-related illnesses since mid-January, only 8% of them were fully vaccinated against the virus, according to a report detailing the Texas Department of State Health Services’ findings.-

            https://www.texastribune.org/2021/11/08/texas-coronavirus-deaths-vaccinated/

            And here.

-Of the nearly 29,000 covid-linked fatalities in Texas during that period, more than 85 percent were of unvaccinated individuals. Nearly 7 percent of the deaths were among partially vaccinated people, while nearly 8 percent were fully vaccinated-

            https://www.washingtonpost.com/health/2021/11/09/texas-unvaccinated-deaths-higher-covid/

          6. Micko

“ said that on RTE News last week”

Yes. That’s my point. That’s a news piece.

“ I’m sure you can corroborate that yourself pal.”

            No, no I can’t. That’s why I’m asking. I can’t find it.

You would think that if there was this KEY piece of information out there the they would publish it in the official figures. They publish almost everything else.

Would be a great convincer to get people vaccinated. No?

They are news pieces too Johnny. And no one cares about the states. It’s a Kip.

          7. johnnny

-are hospitals required to report it?
bit of a red herring-who or where is that data reported/collected-UK ?
where or who would collect that data – its not allowed/required in states.

-However, state officials still don’t have official numbers on how many vaccinated people were hospitalized with COVID-19 because hospitals are not required to report that level of data under state law.

But the state’s largest hospital districts and counties have reported that at least 90% of the hospitalized Texans with the virus were unvaccinated.-

            link above

          8. Cui Bono?

            @Johnny
“-Out of nearly 29,000 Texans who have died from COVID-related illnesses since mid-January, only 8% of them were fully vaccinated against the virus”

This is misleading because it’s data from mid-January to present so an average over many months but in January the % who were vaccinated was close to 0%, February still close to 0% etc. Last year 100% who died were unvaccinated because there was no vaccines.

I don’t have the Texas data but in Ireland on April 1st only 5% were fully vaccinated, 18% by the end of May, 37% by the end of June etc. so by including these months where most we not vaccinated it misleads people who just glanced at the report. See here – shorturl.at/ehzE4

According to the last HSE report I saw from a few weeks ago which was that current week of deaths only, 100% who died that week from covid in Ireland were fully vaccinated.

          9. SOQ

Further more Cui Bono?- the status of ‘vaccinated’ means very little after the first couple of months as efficacy rapidly declines- to the point where at around six, a booster is required.

Did anyone get a chance to view the newly released documents on Pfizers vaccine study , with particular reference to the table on page 7

    1. Mr.T

over 1k dead due to “serious adverse events” at the time those documents were made, puts fatality rate from Comirnaty at 1 in 400 approx.

      1. Cian

Where are you getting “1 in 400”? Because it is obviously rubbish. If it were true there would be 15,000 additional Irish deaths (based on 6.3million doses administered)

There were 30million Pfizer doses distributed in the EU alone by the end of February.

        1. Mr.T

          Missing a ‘0’ there, 1 in 4000 (4k)

30mil distributed maybe, not administered. Administered doses (of all vaccines) in EU at that date is <20m
AZ was rolled out extensively in Europe at that stage too, before pfizer & moderna started to take over as the "defacto" vaccine.

In the US, J&J single shot was a large proportion of doses administered too.

Those figures are based largely on US' VAERS, which also has a caveat that incidents tend to be recorded at a rate 10x below the actual occurrence due to voluntary reporting. So if you believe that every single adverse reaction is recorded, you can multiply the above by a factor of 10 (Fatality rate of 1 in 40k)

‘Sneering at bungalows… exposes our ingrained snobbery’

Wallace would probably argue that it exposes his experience, training and appreciation of good design. But carry on Mary Carr.

          1. Paulus

Hah. In the spirit of the topic I should explain that; I don’t have an extension out the front, and any temporary erection on the property is rarely south-facing;)

    1. John Smith

‘Sneering at bungalows and postcodes’ sounds very English (not even British or UK-ish), which, I guess, is not surprising in the Daily Mail, albeit the Irish version.

Eircodes, where the first element covers what can be a very large area but the rest of it is random, are not such a clear indication of the area one lives in as are postcodes, which identify the area down to a few houses. It is much harder (except, perhaps, in big cities), to use an Eircode to give a quick general evaluation of an area.

Bungalows are the norm in many areas in Ireland, especially, but not only, rural areas. They are very frequently set in large grounds and can be, and very often are, palatial. Even the single-storey Land-Act-type cottages are often extended into sizeable properties. Irish bungalows are certainly not houses to sneer at merely because they are bungalows. By comparison, English bungalows tend to be built on small plots and are, therefore, generally small dwellings.

The article itself may be relevant to Ireland – I can’t say, not having read it – but the headline suggests that it isn’t!

  5. Johnny

    Not fit for purpose,by design.

The revelations that the Irish regulator lobbied for a looser interpretation of EU privacy rules after receiving a complaint against Facebook will raise fresh questions around the relationship between the watchdog and the social media firm.

“The documents show a clear plan: First the Irish regulator agreed on a GDPR bypass with Facebook. Then it tries to squeeze this bypass into European guidelines, in the interest of a U.S. multinational. The DPC clearly did not act in the interest of data protection, but in the interest of U.S. multinationals. Usually it is Facebook lobbyists that try to influence guidelines, here the Irish regulator has turned into a lobbyist,” said Schrems in a statement.”

    Absolutely,totally normal,it’s FFG’s Ireland.

-A spokesperson for the Irish DPC said “there is absolutely nothing unusual” about to and fro between regulators when developing guidelines. –
