‘Big men frightened of a needle.’

That would seem to be a deeply-considered and detailed response to a massive protest which has been backed by donations of over $2m to cover costs of fuel, accommodation, etc, and which is welcomed and supported by large numbers of other people en route.

(Perhaps at least a few of the drivers may be women, by the way, or were you using ‘men’ generically?)

      1. Johnny-ny.

It’s the trans Canada highway from Regina to Ottawa, with stops at wait for it,Truck Stops in the middle of nowhere, what’s with the hyperbole of “massive” -your relying on the UK twitter account above is that your source ?
        Really.

        1. John Smith

‘what’s with the hyperbole of “massive”’

As far as I can determine, the funds raised are now around $5 million CAD which is pretty massive in terms of support. Without going there, I can’t verify that the number of trucks/drivers is truly massive so I have to rely on a trawl of many Internet sources (I wouldn’t rely on a single Twitter account – in fact I wouldn’t rely on Twitter at all). The various drone and other videos show very large numbers and even the most anti-protest reports admit that there are a lot of trucks. I don’t consider ‘massive’ is hyperbole. However, we are both entitled to our opinions, of course.

          1. K.Cavan

            John Smith, don’t be playing that tool’s “where’s your source” game. He’s a time-waster.

        2. K.Cavan

Would you ever give over, Johnny, with your “where’s your source” midwit nonsense, you’re fooling nobody. What are you even gibbering about, your post doesn’t even make sense. “Wait for it, Truck Stops”? You just spent the last two years taking it up the ass from Bill Gates & George Soros. Pull your pants back up, you silly boy & learn how to use the space bar.

        1. Johnny-ny.

How are those 10,000 vaxed American truckers coming along,I can’t find anything nothing here in US about them,I’ve also read most the Canadian papers, again nada, was it in The Hearld or a local Tallaght paper, your wild hyperbolic unsubstantiated claim of thousands American truckers heading to Ottawa ?
Any luck finding a source, besides your own imagination that is.

          1. Johnny-ny.

            Can you read ?
Where does it state ANYTHING about US truckers in their THOUSANDS driving their rigs to Ottawa,ya know the city that is preparing according official sources for 2,000 protestors ?
That in no way backs up your hyperbole and hysteria,it’s just so fake and dramatic all the time, constantly looking for attending by making things up.

          2. SOQ

Just in case two clicks are too much for you.

“The US convoy support groups on Facebook indicate there are over 10,000 truck heading north to Ottawa, but we’re sure that number is also growing daily now! They state that any of the drivers who can not make it into Canada due to the vaccine mandate will be sitting at the border in support for the protest.”

            https://oilfieldnow.com/2022/01/25/the-freedom-convoy-2022-rallying-truckers-to-fight-the-covid-19-vaccine-mandate/

Which is exactly what I said.

          3. K.Cavan

Johnny, you are clearly a badly-educated gombeen who’s so dumb he thinks he’s smart. When you’ve mastered keyboards, prepositions & critical thinking, come back & take your licks.
Meanwhile, stop your whining, you time-waster.

          4. johnny-ny.

“The US convoy support groups on Facebook indicate….”

-does it strike you as odd that NO other media source has reported this stealth mode convoy, none, other than eh,ehm

            ‘trucker facebook support groups”

            Where is it now ?

This convoy of 10,000 US vaxed truckers steaming to Canada-can anyone locate it or see it,or do i need join a facebook support group ?

            so NO source then.

          5. andrew

            @Johnny-ny

Have to say, fellow, I enjoy your comments – witty, informed and a nice turn of phrase

          6. Janet, dreams of an alternate universe

blowing smoke up that bottom is a particularly funny and pointless exercise

          7. SOQ

Because it is not being reported in the middle of a media blackout means it is not happening- that is actually funny. I’m not sure if you are being naïve or just thick- or both.

Time will tell how many are sitting at the border- the videos won’t lie.

          8. andrew

            @Janet

As I have mentioned here before, I am a fellow of very conservative tastes and practices. I am also a non-smoker. It would be a cold day in hell before you would find me blowing smoke up someone’s anal passage.

    2. Mr.T

Tuskegee was just black people frightened of a needle

GSK pharmaceuticals testing on orphans was totally justified, anyone complaining is just frightened of needles.. etc

    3. E'Matty

@RuilleBuille, must suck for you guys slowly realising you weren’t the “goodies” in this fight after all.

    1. Janet, dreams of an alternate universe

The french legend says that in England, in the past, people who were not royals had to ask permission from the king to produce offspring.
In consent he’d send them a plaque, which should be attached to the door of the house, with the expression “fornication under consent of the king” hence the origin of this word…or so they say

    1. K.Cavan

Johnny, I thought I told you to go to bed. Now do what Daddy says, you nincompoop. And don’t wet your bed, again.

      1. Johnny-ny.

You were awful on the Telly,I know we not friends, you mentioned you had none,so someone has tell you,it looks like you keep hostages in that basement or is it a council flat, not many visitors huh.
But you’ve no future in broadcasting none at all, maybe writing, haha.

        1. E'Matty

Poor Johnny is all sore now that his child-like irrational fear is being exposed further by the day. Poor pet. Show us on the Teddy bear where your feelings were hurt?

  1. TenPin Terry

    Just a reminder.
As of 12.01am today England removed all Plan B restrictions brought in for the Omicron variant.

    Mandatory face-masks in indoor venues
    Vaccine passports at large events
    Work from home guidance

    Another great win for Boris.
    We’re back baby.

      1. TenPin Terry

        Ya reckon ?
He was in fighting mood yesterday.I reckon his team think he can get away with it.
Some serious arm-twisting by the Whips going on as well.
Usual caveat – I may be talking out of my rear end.

      2. K.Cavan

Frilly, only an idiot gives a crap what the badly-educated pettit bourgeois of the British media spew out, their hysterical jibbering nonsense about Johnson having a few jars in the back yard are transparent attempts by Bill Gates & his ilk to use their lapdogs in the UK media to oust him because he’s no longer in lockstep with their flaccid New World Order fascist fantasy nonsense.

          1. The Millie Obnoxious™

The jibe would have been more effective, no doubt, had it been spelled correctly.

        1. jungleman

I can imagine you foaming at the mouth as you’re typing this stuff. Are you sure you know what ‘petit bourgeois’ means? Also, which of the UK papers does Bill Gates control?

“flaccid New World Order fascist fantasy” – half decent attempt at alliteration but you let yourself down by shoving “New World Order” into the middle of it. Not sure what any of it means obviously.

          1. E'Matty

Well, The Guardian, BBC, The Financial Times and Daily Telegraph to begin with, are all recipients of Mr Gates financial “generosity”. Don’t bite the hand that feeds you, especially when you’re starving for diminishing ad revenue….

      1. TenPin Terry

        @SOQ
You don’t think our neighbours on the mainland officially coming out of Covid restrictions faster than any other country in Europe is worth noting while debating mass protests on Covid testrictions ?
I invite you to consider the opprobrium that would shoe-horned into here were it to be Ireland ahead of Blighty.
The yellow-mattress brigade on here get over-excited even at the thought of Boris getting a surprise Victoria sponge cake.

          1. K.Cavan

“The mainland” is typical middle-class nonsense, enabling self-delusional Patricias like yourself to attempt a look down your snotty noses at Britain. Are you even aware of what your comment says about the place you reside in? Ireland is hardly part of “Yorp” if the UK isn’t. That’s just soooo dumb that you must’ve been up all night thinking it up.

          2. Doxxy Chainsaw

Nice that you were up all night policing BS to see if I’d post. Were you awake, making sure you stop people sticking you with the vaccine in your sleep?

  2. Kim The Cardassian

Anyone who knows anything about Canadian politics knows that this has nothing to do with Covid and everything to do with the average Canadians hatred of Trudeu.

  3. Doxxy Chainsaw

Seems GoFundMe don’t particularly trust the fundraisers to use the money honestly.
    https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/manitoba/gofundme-withhold-millions-trucker-convoy-1.6327665

“We require that fundraisers be transparent about the flow of funds and have a clear plan for how those funds will be spent. In this case, we are in touch with the organizer to verify that information,” Rachel Hollis, a spokeswoman for the crowdfunding platform, said in an email.

“Funds will be safely held until the organizer is able to provide the documentation to our team about how funds will be properly distributed.”

        1. Nigel

Why is it a slur? You can hardly deny that the far right are the most powerful political force in opposing pandemic measures, and they’re most powerful in the US. Calling it a slur means there’s something wrong with your interests and theirs aligning so closely. Which of course, there is, but that’s my view, why would it also be yours?

          1. Nigel

The far right to you is just this massive blind spot. They certainly would never shell out for a domain name like that to sucker gullible fools who need to have their egos stroked and a bit of deniability.

          2. Nigel

I thought you were the controlled opposition? Or is that what they say about you? Classic Peoples’ Front Of Judea vs Judean People’s Front. Besides, if the far right is so bad, why al the lovey-dovey eyes at US far right stuff like pizzagate and Qanon and the Big Steal the anti-pandemic-measure movement? Links to Project Veritas and Kid Rock anthems? Why so allergic to people pointing out far right influence when you wear that influence so openly?

      1. K.Cavan

Listen Doxxxxy, the “anti-vax” stuff is getting old now, everyone’s sick of reading the pathetic playground name-calling you substitute for rational argument or anything resembling a fact. I realise it’s all you have but, y’know, with all due respect, grow a brain.
        Yawn!

    1. SOQ

Given the amount of money involved- and the speed at which it is growing- what else do you expect GoFundMe to do? But it is not just truckers involved, there is also a group of legal people who will ensure everything is above board. Despite the MSM lies, there is no blocks on it. They will start pulling down funds when they need to.

Teacher says C- on that effort, must try harder.

    2. K.Cavan

Nobody cares about such jibber-jabber, except anal-retentive retards, Doxxy. Christ, how can anyone be so stupid as to spend time dredging up such piffling tripe online?
You need to get a life.

      1. Doxxy Chainsaw

Says the luder who believes he’s been targetted by people “sticking” him with the vaccine.

      2. TenPin Terry

She appears on here about as regularly as you so I’m not sure get a life is quite the zinger you think it is.
        Lack of self-awareness much ?

  4. John Smith

    @ Doxxy
‘Seems GoFundMe don’t particularly trust the fundraisers to use the money honestly.’

The fund has grown rapidly and is now, at around $5m, probably well above what it was originally planned to cover. It would appear that GoFundMe is asking for plans regarding how the large excess will be used. Nothing to do with questions of trust; just transparency, as GoFundMe has said. Any other fundraising effort would be required to do the same in similar circumstances.

    1. SOQ

Absolutely- if it keeps growing at this rate it will probably be one, if not the biggest amount of money collected on the GoFundMe platform. They have their own reputation to protect so everything will be done by the book- especially as it is a political campaign.

    1. Janet, dreams of an alternate universe

Macron welcomed as one should be welcomed ( what he deserves ) and shouting for him to resign,
I’d say he’d get an even worse reception in Marseille

  5. SOQ

Just a thought- while these truckers are protesting, they are not driving. And while they are not driving, no food is getting delivered- to either Canada or from them, into the US.

How long before the shelves empty, and what happens then?

    1. jungleman

I’d say 50000 is a small number relatively speaking. What happens when the truckers’ shelves go empty? A more apt question. Being an antivaxxer can be an expensive hobby.

      1. SOQ

That is what the GoFundMe is about? And if it keeps growing at this rate, they are going to be there for quite a while.

          1. SOQ

Don’t you think it would be wise to get yourself up to speed on the full story before commenting then?

    2. TenPin Terry

Pity the poor sod when that convoy rolls up at his pit stop and they ask for 50,000 breakfast rolls and Lucozade Originals ….

        1. Doxxy Chainsaw

A randomer on tiktok? Wow, what a super duper source!

Did your mammy homeschool you like a Burke? Did she give you your teaching degree with a special tea for her bestest little professor?

          1. jungleman

            Like a Burke, hahaha!

The funny thing is SOQ and the Burkes probably share lot of similar views.

          2. SOQ

The Canadian Truckers Alliance is NOT a membership of truckers. From their Facebook page-

“The Canadian Trucking Alliance is a federation of provincial trucking associations. We represent a broad cross-section of the trucking industry – some 4,500 carriers, owner operators and industry suppliers”

            4500 members is correct then.

            https://www.facebook.com/Canadian-Trucking-Alliance-102586125587511

They are a relatively small owner / management type association and are donors to the Liberal party- quelle surprise.

          3. Doxxy Chainsaw

The tiktok randomer will always know more than anyone else. No wonder you run to them for your education.

          4. GiggidyGoo

@Daisy “ A randomer on tiktok? Wow, what a super duper source!”
Says Bruce Y Lee’s biggest fan who fell hook line and sinker for the bait. Ha haaaaa.

          5. GiggidyGoo

Yep. And you fell for it hook line and sinker (and still are falling for it every time you post that) Ha haaaaaa. And you don’t even realise it.

          6. Doxxy Chainsaw

What’s the difference between me posting a Brucie link and you posting a Brucie link after months of banging on about me posting a Brucie link?

  6. RuilleBuille

Of course the anti-vaxxers delirium at their false narrative of events in Canada is because of their poor showing here.

The campaign here is proudly led by batty Gemma and crazy John.

    1. Janet, dreams of an alternate universe

The graves a fine and private place, but none, I think, do there embrace.

    1. SOQ

Apparently he was in contact with someone who tested positive, and has to isolate for five days.

Diarrhoea can be a symptom of CoVid-19 of course, and he most likely has that by now. Good job he is not a nurse, or he would be told to turn up for work anyways.

  7. Verbatim

Yeah right, reminds me of when de Gaulle fled France during the chaos of May 68.

However, Trudeau has the backing and the power of the WEF to pump him up, but the mob is unpredictable and let’s hope he’s pooing in his pants.

  8. Verbatim

The one with the least intel could brush up a little…

Head of the WorldEconomicForum KlausSchwab at Harvard’s John F. Kennedy School of Government in 2017: “What we are very proud of, is that we penetrate the global cabinets of countries with our WEF Young Global Leaders… like JustinTrudeau”

  9. Rosette of Sirius

There are 5000 people in Letterkenny. These are their problems…

Wayne: so what are these truckn fellers protesting?

Dan: allegedlies theys protestins thems anti vaccines legislations.

Dary: well why are they doing that. Thought masks and stuff were supposed to help with the covid?

Dan: they sez that laws tellens thems they gotts to wears masks and gets vaccines is taken aways their personable liberties.

Dary: doesn’t seem right. Government should be able to protect people.

Dan: Well, Professor Trisha in my Constitutional Laws course sez that if these people had reads their copies of the Charters of Rights and Freedoms, its says there clears as day that the governments of Canada are squares to rights to make upwhatever laws that restricts yurs liberties in the course of protectin’s the majorities of folks.

Wayne: so what you’re sayins is… these fellers are driving to a big rally where theres’ going to be lots of fellers

    Dan: and women trucks drivers.

Wayne: and ladies… are all gonna get together in a group and protest about being told what to do.

    Dan: yep.

Wayne: Now hold up a minute. These fellers

    Dan: and ladies

Wayne: these fellers and ladies who drive trucks… well dont’ the government already tell them how they can and can’t drive their trucks?

Dary: and require them to take tests to drive the trucks

Wayne: and pay fees to get licenses and permits to drive trucks?

Dary: that seems like the government telling them how and what they should do with their trucks.

Wayne: well now, how come they aren’t protesting that?

Dary: doesn’t make sense to me.

Wayne: figure it out is what I’d say. Its a nice day. Not too cold. We should go down there and tell them they’re spare parts.

Dan: Ooo! We coulds makes signs out of the bristolsboards.

    Dary: and glitter

Wayne: why its a great day to counter protest.

Dan: oo not glitter.. Gets in my beards.

Wayne: Why I don’t know why we’re not counter protesting right now.

    If you know, you know…

    1. Chris

Yes, because opting to get a driving license is the same as being coerced into an evasive medical procedure. A procedure that has now killed 39000 Europeans and injured three million.

          1. jungleman

Go ahead and navigate it then, and show us specifically where it says it has killed 39,000 Europeans.
