        You poor thing.
You’re exactly the type of knobhead Colin Brazier was talking about.

So it’s going to be another 2 weeks of either Rebecca Vardy or Coleen Rooney on the front page of the English, I mean Irish, Daily Mail. Pathetic excuse for a so called Irish publication.
The April sales figures for the papers are out in next couple of days. At least that brings a smile to my face. I would love to know why they persist with having so much English photos on their front page. Their sales have fallen off a cliff, far faster than all the others who are all falling also.

    1. Gerry

It’s a great story, the brass neck on Vardy, taking this action, which looks like being an expensive humiliation. It’s got hubris, the clever sting by Colleen Rooney, football, Peter Andre, lol, a lot of good ingredients.

You’re right about the Mail though, to call it muck would be an insult to muck; it’s a cheeky reprint of UK muck. And this is from a guy who buys the IT and a UK paper most days (the Times — sigh, or the Graun — sigh too)

    2. Kin

It’s amazing how these WAGs age so badly
Money cannot buy you certain things in life including class
      We see them now

Santina Cawleys cold blooded murder broke my heart…i’m a 53′ yr old man,a father,a retired soldier…thought i seen it all….i cried reading that case.
God bless you you little dote.

    1. stephen moran

Because the story is fake – that picture has been doing the round for months – I’ve lost track how many times I’ve seen it recycled – you’re just another in the long line of the gullible to swallow this “breaking” non news hook line and stinker – and he’s not even American – but of course guys who are retired for years always wear nametags in battle to make it handy

      https://twitter.com/DmitryOpines/status/1526158528259543040

    2. SOQ

Yes I raised that topic way back and of course it was dismissed by the usual shills. Some say that picture is something else but if he is free – meaning not captured- why doesn’t he make himself known? It is not that hard a thing to do.

The Russians are saying they have intercepted mobile comms in 6-8 languages out of that steel works, which proves hands down that NATO and especially the US were up to their eyeballs in Urkaine. Also, why so many nationalities and what were they doing there?

Wounded being carried out of steel works now and the puppet regime is in a huddle trying to figure out how to spin the surrender- because that is exactly what it is. Still they won the Eurovision- and we’ll ignore one of them giving the roman salute as they left the stage.

      It never happened- no really.

      1. Nigel

        1. You’ve been hyping this idea for a while now, acting as if it’s a proven fact even though it still isn’t.
        2. Broadsheet posted, then took down a false story claiming one of these guys had been captured. How many similar fake stories have been doing the rounds?
        3. If it turns out to be true, nobody will actually care, or even be especially shocked, since you guys gave effectively innoculated us against it.

        1. GiggidyGoo

“ If it turns out to be true, nobody will actually care, or even be especially shocked, since you guys gave effectively innoculated us against it.”

Preparation for the great run away already in train. Aren’t you ashamed to do that?

          1. Nigel

You’ll do your best, I’m sure, and what I’ve actually said won’t matter to you, but unless they turn up a platoon of US Marines no one will really care, Russian propagandists notwithstanding

          2. GiggidyGoo

I spend very no time on you – because you’re irrelevant. I spend it on your idiotic posts though. Irrelevant unintelligible random guff is your calling card.

          3. Nigel

Odd claim, since you tend to carefully ignore most of what I actually write in my comments.

          4. GiggidyGoo

….’ but unless they turn up a platoon of US Marines no one will really care, Russian propagandists notwithstanding’

            Irrelevant unintelligible random guff

One doesn’t have to be careful about ignoring the content of your comments, if the choice taken was to ignore them or not.. But to reply to them means one has to read them, not ignore them.

          5. Nigel

Pretending you don’t understand the point I’m making is brave when you’re trying to make me out as unintelligent, but absolutely necessary.

        2. SOQ

Well we do know that Eric Olson is missing, because he would have made himself known if not.

I cannot speak for Broadsheet- nor they for me

I think that a Eurovision winning act giving a Nazi salute is something a lot of people would care about actually.

          Where you are from again?

          1. stephen moran

Putin’s stooges will continue to swallow bricks hook line and stinker – if this had a shred of truth in it (which it hasn’t) it would be centerfold war porn for Putin for his rent boys circle jerks splash out and cream a whole packet of Mcvities digestives

          2. Me So Harney

            “continue to swallow bricks..”

The ghosts of snake island are shrieking with laughter..

          3. Nigel

            For certain values of ‘missing.’

Is this Nazi salute like Zelensky’s iron cross or some soldier with a skull emblem? Because you have such form.

          4. SOQ

And yet neither of you shills can provide a shred of evidence that he has not being captured eh? That is the acid test.

          5. Nigel

We don’t have to. There’s no evidence he HAS been captured. There’s no evidence these genrals and admirals are even there. Until such evidence emerges, it’s just you hyping on behalf of Putin.

          6. ManT

SOQ its delusional to think that was a nazi salute. Plenty of footage showing it clearly wasn’t. People will see what they want to see.

          7. Strutting Andrew

“And yet neither of you shills can provide a shred of evidence that he has not being captured eh? That is the acid test.”

Jesus, how bizarrely irrational can someone be?

How on the earth can a lack of evidence that something happened be “the acid test”?

There is no evidence that I was luxuriously felated by Naomi Campbell in the carpark of Tesco outside Walkden last Tuesday evening, so, on your reckoning, it must have happened.

You have an odd grasp of how evidence and probability works, lad.

          8. Strutting Andrew

SOQ is well and truly gone. No longer able to see anything that does not tie in with the warped worldview that has subsumed him. Sad.

          9. Vlad ‘21 Roses’ Novichok

I imagine it was when Bodger hooked them up with that sweet new paid Tankie gig, it was all vodka and pelmeni from there…

          10. SOQ

One of the Russian generals was rumoured to have been killed- so, he promptly appeared next day at a press conference- and why wouldn’t he? There was nothing to hide after all.

If Olson was not in Mariupol and has not surrendered to the Russians then where is he? A very straight forward question.

The whole topic of the steel works started as a rumour of course- and was dismissed by the same spin merchants at the time.

300 Nazi sewer rats dragged out of the place on Monday- off to somewhere sunny I expect.

          11. johnny

..do business today, any chance update on Twitter, you were bombarding the place with your insightful analysis:)
            LOL

          12. Nigel

Until he shows up as a Russian captive he could be anywhere. What rumours about the steelworks were dismissed? That they existed? Or that they were full of biolabs and NATO generals?

    3. ANO

Just to be clear, the ‘story’ in that link –

      1. Doesn’t confirm who that POW is
      2. Where that photo was taken
      3. When that photo was taken

If senior NATO staff have been captured by Putin’s invading forces then you’d expect them to make hay of it.

A quick Google of Hal Turner would suggest that he’s neither a good source nor indeed a good person.

          1. Strutting Andrew

            Hahahhaa
He appeared publicly in Turkey 11 days ago.
What happened to your ‘tick tock’ forecast? You utter bozo.

          2. Me So Harney

Hi andrew, you still referring to stock photos (without masks) from 2019 and phoney LinkedIn messages..

            Lololololololols

      1. SOQ

Not necessarily- if a prisoner of war is not willing to appear in public then I would expect that there is very little their capturers can do. They can claim to have captured him but without evidence- that means little.

        1. ANO

I’m far from an expert on the matter but that sounds like an inversion of what I’d expect from the traditional prisoner/captor power dynamic.

          1. SOQ

Not really- the Russians appear to be adhering to the Geneva convention- which if the videos flying around are anything to go by, the Ukrainians are most definately not.

          2. anti bot

Hey soq, why question a commentator on here as to where are they from? isn’t that racist? particularly as you’re not from Ireland?

          3. ANO

So the chaps in the photo in that article signed a release or otherwise gave permission for their picture to be taken ?

          4. Me So Harney

They’re mercenaries so they’re not protected under the Geneva convention. Russia can do what they like with them.

          5. ANO

Some would have you believe that at least one of them is a high ranking member of the American military.

          6. SOQ

Yes when it comes to mercenaries- they are not protected under the Geneva convention, but what if he is a direct employee of the US government?

          7. Nigel

Don’t count your NATO generals until they’re trotted out by Russia for propaganda purposes.

Interesting headline describing the fears about the impacts of refugees on tourism.
I suspect it’s dancing around the real issue, the impact of refugees/asylum seekers, et cetera on residential housing. Everyone looking to buy a house will be affected, but those on waiting lists for social/affordable housing will be absolutely crippled.
Given the sheer amount of units that need to be built, our arcane planning system that’s open to abuse/frustration from green/fair lefty serial professional objectors, it’s really hard to see a solution in the short to medium term.
I am sick of the endless headlines surrounding the 2 main libel trials at the moment. It’s a pure distraction, and it’s moving the public’s attention away from bigger more important issues.

    1. Janet, dreams of an alternate universe

I’m genuinely looking at every option that isn’t Ireland now as quality of life and lack of available homes to buy is just making it unfeasible to stay. It makes me really angry, it is as a big move to come back, I want to be near my parents as they age and I really don’t want the hassle a huge move like that includes but I just can’t see any solutions and can’t keep throwing away money on crippling rent forever.

      1. john f

I am really sorry to hear of your woes, yeah, it’s mental, how a generations quality of life and future prospects have been totally destroyed and all the services that people especially older people rely on have been impacted.
It makes absolutely no practical difference, but I wish you the very best in trying to find solutions.

      2. SOQ

I suggest you really think of Belfast Janet, especially South Belfast which would be the more affluent part. Lisburn Road / Stranmillis / Ormeau Road are all really nice areas, well served with schools etc and not at all tribal- and, still only two hours to Dublin on the enterprise.

Have a look at the prices here for a 2 bed house in those areas. The price differential between even that part of Belfast and any part of Dublin is eye watering. You can set the currency to Euro to see a real time comparison.

        https://www.propertypal.com/search?sta=forSale&st=sale&currency=GBP&maxbeds=2&term=15&term=BT9&term=BT7&pt=residential

..after festooning this place daily with your amateur hour grasp of business, you’ve gone awfully silent, where is Ron in all this, need another slice humble pie or had your fill,no updates huh…..shouting roaring from the rooftops about Musk and Twitter,as usual totally wong,l’m just not that type person to say I TOLD YOU:)
          critical thinker-yeah whatever.

        2. Mad

          Agree with SOQ Janet
          Northern Ireland all the way
          – free quality health care – check
          – nice people – check
          – good schools – check
          – affordable housing – check
          – good roads and public transport – check

    2. Kin

We see now why no tents
I only hope the hospitality industry takes the government to the cleaners
First they villanized our industry using a dodgy photo in the journal of a pub in I assume temple bar with quote from Leo
If the pub industry behaves like this we will bring in draconian measures then the day before paddies day closed us down and with threats of us loosing our livelihoods proceeded to prevent us from trading
Then for two years of hell those left standing find tourism is lost as they use hotels to accommodate those refugees while our own people are shoved aside
I simply cannot wait and am willing to put every red cent into a class action suit to screw them to the wall
I have spent two years in pure hell watching my life’s work evaporate before my eyes and loose many loyal decent well paid staff because I could not pay them thanks to being forced to close
Now no one can hire staff even refugees

      1. Mad

That’s because you’ve been raping the country for years with ridiculous inflated prices, kids/wives working for nothing and still claiming COVID payments etc, and ALWAYS profiteering from the local alcoholic/ gambling addict. Time for a reckoning long overdue for you creeps

        1. Strutting Andrew

I understand where you’re coming from but see too where this is headed… do you want pubs in Ireland like we already now have in the UK? All just outlets in massive conglomerate chains or franchises. So many Ye Olde thatched roof ‘village pubs’ but when you set foot inside, could be any airport bar in the world – wall to wall TV screens, uniformed staff that never stay working there more than a month so couldn’t care less about anything, special drink promotions, awful food with lingering stench all day long. loud noisy fools. The English pub used to be an institution but it’s dead now Be careful what you wish for etcetera

          1. Mad

            That’s rubbish mate
I was in several pubs in Derbyshire last week and they are excellent

        2. toby 32

evidently a person who has never worked in a business in his life
          Numb nuts
We will have no tourism left in rural Ireland
No pubs no restaurants no coffee shops
And of course no revenue that accounts for over 45% of the gross turnover of those businesses
And when the tourists find nothing open in rural Ireland thousands of other jobs will be lost also hotels will close as no one is going to may it be staycation or tour Ireland go to anywhere that you are confined to eat drink or find a toilet open apart from the hotel you book
Then of course the culchie has no where to go because there is nothing open
See how many will work remotely when you cannot even buy a coffee unless its from a central or a delightful burger joint
Of course a small minded oaf thinks in such a way
I am sure we can house all the over flows from the cities in rural Ireland but there is little infrastructure in place
As for tourists I can see they will be happy with the delights of the cities with homeless addicts begging in the streets and the violence from the out of control scum bags the police cannot control
Ah yes them the cheap plank from the supermarkets
Remember you drink at home you do not pay for the staff to clean up after you

          1. scottser

‘Remember you drink at home you do not pay for the staff to clean up after you’
i pay the kids a fiver pocket money a week and one of their chores is the recycling, so yes, yes i do.

          2. Mad

Maybe if you spent a few seconds trying to figure out to make your obsolete business model attractive to customers rather than posting irrelevant widdle on here 24 hours a day David …you won’t need a government subsidy for your failed legal drug dealing misery-peddling industry

      1. scottser

third response down makes more sense to me:

‘Yeah…India and China are getting oil, and soon also gas, at a big discount from Russia and have not committed any real support to the war (nor will they). India and China are not helping Russia, both are just taking advantage of Russia’s problems.’

      2. stephen moran

that “story” is from 19th April – to say events have overtaken it would be something of an understatement – India is buying about 2-3% of its needs at a 30-40% discount China isn’t buying any new oil from Russia – why – logistics – the pipeline east only has 14% of the capacity of the multiple pipelines going west and the Chinese economy is crashing and burning due to an imploding property market hence there is no extra demand –

Exports from China / South Korea / Taiwan and India to Russia have fallen off the chart (down 60-75% over the last 2 months with further to fall as companies are terrified of secondary sanctions) – and its exactly these tech imports Russia needs right now – it having to recycle microchips from household white goods

Your friends in Sri Lanka have run out of petrol & diesel today and its still nothing to do with terrorism btw

        1. toby 32

Stephen do you not know that maybe Russia has experts that think these things through before going to war
Was it not a great general from the orient Sun Tzu who stated wars are won or lost before they start
I often wonder why Putin did not commit the might of the full force of his military
We have no access to russia media and all we are hearing is one side
I also wonder why our governments are not doing anything to stop the massive price gouging
Its as though they want us so mad that we follow off like good little people and follow the narrative
There is nothing better than a good old war to galvanise the them and us mentality
Russia evil Ukraine living saints for all humans are the same with the capacity of good and evil
Maybe George Orwell’s 1984 was a vision of the future
Maybe the war in Oceania is a vision of this war written all those years ago by the man who wrote animal farm which is bang on
I will not fall for this for there is so much propaganda its sickening
Ask yourself why is Ireland population 5million with our housing problems taking or committed to taking not 100 thousand but 200 thousand refugees but France with a population at least 13 times ours capping the numbers of refugees to 100 thousand
And why has our government not launched some type of committee to fight war profiteering ?
Better still why did a president of a nation goad a complete lunatic ?
I remember watching the face of the Ukrainian ambassador when he was in India a few hours after the Russians invaded in India
The look on his face said it all
Those war should never of happened and the rhetoric before this where if you think true was bad it was plain insanity from all sides
It looks like the powers at be wanted this war and they will not be content until the whole world is burying their children and watching their homes destroyed
          Sadly this includes our government

          1. stephen moran

Risible self delusional rubbish – Russia thought nothing through – they loons in the general staff convinced Putra that they would be welcomed by flowers and boom boxes – they had no operational reserve ! The are getting the shite knocked out of them because their no supply lines are totally dysfunctional and their coms are completely compromised – they are up against the MIC now and are stuffed because the post Chechen war refit never happened – all the money that was going to be spent on modernizing the military got creamed off – Russia is endemically sub third world corrupt – have you seen the yachts , the villas the bimbos – that was all skimmed off – it is the land of “I’ll rake 1% of your 5%” – have you ever been there ? Russia simply does not have the manpower – hence they are prostrating themselves to get scumbags from Chechnya , Syria and even Eritrea now to fight for them morale is on the flows they are losing generals like greenbottles hanging on the wall – demographically the country is fcuked – have you seen the museum piece kit they have been forced into using – this fantasy that they have this vast stored of all singing all dancing ships / tanks / planes licked away in some vast Bat cave that they are keeping for Sunday best is beyond fantasy island Putin rent boy self harm stuff

See Turkey is scuppering the deal for Finland and Sweden joining NATO and they can do
As for Ukraines chances of joining complete zilch as they cannot satisfy the conditions and as for the EU not a chance
      But here we are
If only NATO spelled it out to Putin we might of had no war and no price gouging placing many families all over Europe in fuel and food poverty millions of Ukrainians safe in their beds whole cities not destroyed and millions traumatised then the dead Ukrainians and Russian troops and not a calamity for us all with an iron curtain firmly closed and a ice cold wat that’s going to last for decades
And we see the worth of the UN and calibre of politician today cheering on war and wars that they will not be fighting on the front line safely hiding in their bunkers
And if there is a nuclear war they will all be safe with their families and the generals in nuclear bunkers while we all have to survive in a nuclear wasteland

    1. Fearganainm

“The most important part of Liz Truss statement today is that the UK is now categoric the NI Protocol has to be amended if it is to be acceptable. Imaginative interpretation of it is not sufficient, she said. By contrast Maroš Šefčovič says the Protocol cannot be changed – and he gave a clear signal that the EU would retaliate with a trade war if the UK government resorts to domestic legislation to dis-apply parts of the protocol. This looks like a massive car crash in very slow motion.”

It’s amazing every politician never copped on to the elephant sitting in plain sight in the room
A border cannot be moved into the sea for the convenience of politicians
Wars have been fought over borders especially the latest war
The day the UK Left the EU THIS ELEPHANT ENTERED THE ROOM
With modem technology and the fact everything is done these days by electronic means except smugglers using cash there is no need for customs checks
And as well as that even before the UK left the EU PHYSICAL CHECKS FOR SMUGGLING AND AGRICULTURAL DEISAL WERE GOING ON

Maybe the reality is it’s all about punishing the UK for having the audacity to leave the EU and we are the piggy in the middle and are the victims and if so this is no way to treat a member and maybe
It’s better we leave as this elephant in the room could destroy the GFA and bring back violence as the troubles could raise its ugly head

It’s hard to ignore the absolute lunacy of the Northern Ireland assembly and the fact that even to this day the politicians both sides are refusing to work together blaming each other
With political representation like that it shows that nothing really changed
        It’s sectarian as ever

    You know feargananium
So if animal feed is zero rated as it is
How come food for dogs who are animals is now going to be made liable for VAT
seems maybe another dogs dinner by government of our finances
Enough to make even a dog barf
Seems pascal is scraping the barrel and anything that adds more misery on pensioners struggling to survive and have a companion and assistance dogs is pretty much scummy

          1. Fearganainm

As you’re a diehard defender of sex criminals we can take your word for it – only it’s not your word. is it? You’re just failing to give your source, Paul Staines.

          2. TenPin Terry

            10 seconds Googling.
You posts hundreds of dull links to the Guardian over many months yet when it really counts any fool can find the info they want in an instant.
You’re the gombeem rushing into the pub shouting ” lads you’ll never guess what ” when everyone has already moved on to the next topic.
Your pigeon-post pigeon long since came home to roost loser.

        1. Fearganainm

          “When it really counts”

Haha – a Tory accused of criminal activity and you think that means that there’s only one candidate?

You just go with what Guido tells you and pretend to be ‘in the know’ – while frantically trying to downplay Tory criminality the rest of the time.

          1. TenPin Terry

Only Tories are convicted of sex offences latest …

It also defended self-confessed paedophiles in the press and allowed them to attend its meetings.’ Read full story HERE
*According to media reports, the names of 2 former Labour Cabinet Ministers said to be `Household names` appear on the `Operation Ore ` list of subscribers to hard-core child pornography. The same FBI investigation, which led to the arrest of rock star Pete Townshend. So who are they Mr Blair?
*William Straw – Son of Labour Foreign Secretary, and former Home Secretary – Jack Straw, was cautioned by Police for drug dealing, amid a frantic Government attempt to cover up the matter and gag the media as to his identity. Jack Straw also has a brother who was convicted of a sex attack on a schoolgirl. Lovely family!
*Homosexual mass murderer; Dennis Nielsen, who strangled and dismembered 16 young men in the 1980`s, was also a highly active member of Labour fringe groups such as the Anti-Nazi League, and the SWP. That’s when he wasn’t busy boiling people’s heads in a pot, or masturbating over the corpses of his victims.

          2. bisted

…haw haw…yes…but who thought a Tory MP looking for tractors on his phone could make GrowlerGape™ a thing…

  8. TenPin Terry

Can I just say – do NOT have the ” legendary ” Shepherd’s Pie in the Ivy.
I’ve had better versions in a greasy spoon just off the M1.
    Over-seasoned and over-cooked.
Fortunately the third bottle of Crozes Hermitage softened the blow.
The flight home will be interesting.
    Marvellous™
( I am of course very very drunk.)

    1. Big Lad

Were you drunk this morning when you pasted/posted your essay at the top of this page that had to be removed? That was a new low, even for you. Disgusting.

Carry on as if it never happened, why don’t you?
I’m not the only one who saw it.

  9. TenPin Terry

Quite happy to stand by every word I wrote.
Quite happy at Broadsheet’s decision to remove it too.
Sexual crimes are an emotive topic that some people are uncomfortable discussing.
    I’m not.
But I respect those who disagree with my views.

    1. Fearganainm

Your defence of convicted sex offenders and your victim blaming views, you mean, you misogynist creep..

      1. TenPin Terry

        They’re my views.
Not a link to someone else’s.
If you catch my drift …

        1. Fearganainm

Yeah, you’re a pro-sex offender type of creep. Something of a defender/supporter/excuser of such criminals. You’ve made that clear here on many occasions.

          1. Mad

Every day you’re in here spamming the board and recently are even taking to replying to your own irrelevant twaddle.

Another thing I note is that everyone who calls you out is a misogynist, a creep etc.

            Projecting much?

The board would not suffer from the absence of either of you but at least Terry occasionally produces a laugh, out of pity if nothing else …

          2. Fearganainm

But you ARE a misogynist creep with a history of posting dirty messages to females here. It’s no surprise that you’d rush to the defence of one of your own kind.

      1. Big Lad

Feargananim has summarised it well enough already. ie. excusing a sex offender by accusing his victim of being a ‘qrick-tease’.
What struck me was that he had obviously been refreshing the site constantly in order to get the first post in. It had NOTHING to do with any story in any of the papers, not even a Tory. It was just misogynistic bile, ‘oven-ready’ for the prime spot.

        1. TenPin Terry

The story is in every national Irish newspaper today you knuckle-dragging poltroon.

        2. Big Lad

I’m not new here mad. I’m here since Janet ate her first avatar, when Frilly Keane was the only Queen and Bertie was King of the puns. Badatmemes was the villain back then.
You wouldn’t remember. You weren’t there.

    2. Mad

Was that it…you posted some factual remarks about Labour political party and all these wet their pants?

    1. Mad

Charger has three or four personalities
      1/ drunk, jovial, fat Falstaff
2/ Harry Hotspur sort of rational news analyst with pro NATO, western bias
3/ pub landlord racist hates the Irish and many other nationalities
4/ Reasonable Charger – appeals to moral higher ground

I think “Reasonable” Charger is my personal favourite.
#3 seems to come out mostly when he’s hungover.
The other 3 all appear often simultaneously if you look at the timelines
