HSE CEO Paul Reid Reid said that there is evidence in Europe that vaccinating health care workers is a good idea.
He added that monkeypox is a mild self-limiting illness that people generally recover from in weeks, and that it does not spread easily between people, generally skin to skin contact – although there is nothing to say that it will not be airborne in the future.
