The Mutianyu section of the Great Wall of China northeast of Beijing, built in the 6th century and rebuilt a millennium later, once served as the northern barrier defending the capital and the imperial tombs.
It’s now home to a metal luge, down which tourists scoot on wheeled toboggans.
