Should The ‘Yes’ Side Narrowly Lose Today

They may look back on this as a ‘moment’.

Simon Coveney and Vincent Browne from Tuesday night.

Christ, the politicians we have in this country are pathetic. Either spineless, corrupt, useless or a combination of all three.

Ha ha. What an idiot. Ouch. He could have backed out of that one: “No please show me the clip that contradicts me in totality…”
As for Enda not looking for a write down… What kind of twisted form of pride and responsibility taking is he trying to sell to us (or the ECB)? We’re happy to pay the casino debts of a few reckless, foolish and greedy banks and developers. Our children, or handicapped and our elderly will stump up too. A write down should be the first thing on the table. Start playing hardball. We’ve much more to gain than we have to lose. And why haven’t we thrown anyone in jail yet. The way those banks hid that debt has to be some sort of fraud. I don’t know about you guys but I want to see some prosecutions. But as usual our government stick their heads in the sand and play good boys.

Very well said. That in a nutshell is why I will vote NO today (and NO the second time they hold it).

This comment sounds like something from 2009 (apart from the reference to Enda).

And Joan Burton was appallingly out of her depth on RTE earlier that evening – it was embarrassing. I thought the worst was Lucinda Creighton, Murphy handed her the treaty and said “find it” she was just making up numbers, it was as bad as any of the Fianna Fail interviews in the past.

They don’t care how they appear, they haven’t read it, they don’t care about it, they’ll just scare the misled into voting for it and retire on their massive backslapping pensions.

Well the only way those shameful pensions are secure is with a yay vote. btw
why d’ye think write-downs and W/Os were never sought

BTW Any sign of Phil lads?

In fairness, it’s an opinion piece carried by Bloomberg. A good opinion piece, IMO, but an opinion piece.

Phil was put in a cupboard for the duration of the campaign because he was getting too unpopular. I’m sure they’ll dust him off, wind him up and set him running again once the votes are counted.

I think SF did the same with O’Snodaigh. haven’t seen him mumbling for weeks. Why he was ever let out of the compound, I mean elected in the first place always baffles me.

Has anyone got a link to Creighton being handed the treaty? I hate that woman. I hate her so very very much.

That would be hilarious if it wasn’t for the fact that it makes my head want to explode.

That’s certainly what it looks like to me – two different things, a little bit disingenuous on Vincent’s part there really, much as it really does make for great TV.
