I never really thought about the metre man, until I was the one who had to pay, the metreman.

Let’s get this thread put to bed early…

    Point:
    Protesters are still in bed…dole-claiming, beer-swilling, fag-smoking, Skysports-watching, phonecamera-using layabouts.

    Counterpoint:
Police state! Abuse of power! Denis O’Brien’s lackeys! Shame shame shame on you!

Very true, they’re all still in bed wondering how they can afford their fags now.

But don’t worry, one of them will be on to Fabebuke soon posting over dramatically on how they need help down here, and the rent a mob will get there eventually.

Out in full force now. Gardai scaring the shite out of kids on their way to school. You wouldn’t see it even during the Stasi’s reign.

        +1000000
If people do not have a clue what they are talking about they might be better of saying nothing at all…

This mess only shows that the left in Ireland are finished – on one hand there’s a tea party style rabble that is against a wealth tax on property and conservation of resources (SF / AAA etc.) without really knowing why and on the other, neo-liberal privateers handing over public goods to the highest bidder (Lab) . We need a genuine social democratic party now!

For some reason it’s classified as Baldoyle despite the fact that Donaghmede is between them two of them. I think it’s because Baldoyle was the closest An Post depot when the estate was built.

Yes, sometimes keypads don’t work right, and sometimes information doesn’t get transferred correctly. It is Dublin 13.

Good idea, Mick. But let’s give it the Moynes-off it’s been waiting for.

    POINT:

Protesters? They stink of the dole
And getting their mots up the pole,
    Of Rothmans and boozing,
    An Poblacht-perusing
And iPhones and scratching their hole.

    Counterpoint, anyone?

    1. DoM

      COUNTERPOINT:

      Gardaí, an undisciplined mob,
Just WHO are you calling a yob?
We work hard for our dole,
      You miserable hole,
      That Noonan’s an abolute k**b.

Isn’t it great that there is no crime in the Capital. And our Gardai can be hired as private goons by Denis O’Brien. No need to pay them overtime….Oh wait.

As an aside to all of this, is anyone else sick to death of the trolling the protestors are doing in rte news updates on Facebook? I’m not saying rte are the great bastions of newsworthy content but it’s gotten to the point where one protester commented on a report re Hong Kong protests “shame on you rte. Yous are reporting foreign news not irish news”
