Backbench TD Tommy Broughan has lost the Labour Party whip after he voted against the Government on the Order of Business this morning.
Mr Broughan voted against the allocation of time for the debate on the extension of the bank guarantee scheme.
The Dublin North East TD also voted against the extension of the bank guarantee this afternoon.
The Government comfortably won the vote on the extension by 99 votes to 30.
